Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

We had a delicious lunch here. The mixed appetizers were utterly amazingly good. The pasta likewise. we would return here the next time we're in Lerici. Actually this is in a neighboring town Tellaro.

Had the most delicious ravioli I have EVER had in my LIFE!!! The squid ink ravioli is a must-have. And to top it off, the platter of grilled fish was unforgettable. We had such a wonderful lunch that we came back in the same day...for dinner! It was THAT good! I could eat there every day and not get tired. And the owners and servers were soooo kind. The server (the bald man) is so funny and made us feel like we were at home! I even left my purse and the other young waiter ran after me on the street to hand it to me. Best hospitality ever. I love this place! I will most definitely be back when I’m in Tellaro again.More

Stayed here and had dinner here. Marvellous anti pasti and the best spaghetti allo scoglio ever! Don’t miss this! And the room met our expectations - clean, nice view and patio.

Awesome atmosphere, fresh and locally prepared food. The meals are carefully selected and made with Ligurian specials. The restaurant is in a quiet position with a nice terrace.

We tried few other places around for food but it was waste of time as Gambero Nero was simply the best. Food delicious, top service and decent prices. Strongly recommend :)

So impressed with this restaurant. We were warmly welcomed on a cold Saturday evening and ordered a caraf of house white which was actually a bubbly. We then feasted on squid ink spaghetti (tasty) and fried local fish which was cooked perfectly in a very...thin batter with a side excellent hand cut chips. Really impressed and unbelievably reasonable price. The restaurant was full of Italian holidaymakers. Highly recommended.More

Lovely fresh seafood, very attentive staff. My husband and daughter had Seabass and found it fresh and tasty.

We enjoyed this restaurant in Tellaro, Italy. It was walking distance from our VRBO. It was hot and the restaurant was warm but the outside eating area was full so we sat inside (no AC). The decor is good. The food was excellent seafood. Nice...wine selection. There were 3 of us trying 3 different seafoods and all were excellent. The bread here was really good. Prices super reasonable. Service Good. It was our last meal in Tellaro and it was enjoyable.More

We wandered into this restaurant at the edge of charming Tellaro and discovered a gem. All the seafood was outstanding—among the best we’ve had anywhere. Portions are generous, and the prices are reasonable. Our waiters were charming, friendly, and helpful. We could not have asked...for more—unless it would be return visit as soon as possible.More

Gambero Nero is situated in a lovely fishing village just outside Lerici, in the so called Poet’s bay. It is a family own business with the top combination of fresh seafood and very skillful Cook. Service is lovely, they made us feel very welcome. However...the best comes from the seafood dishes offer. The starters are amazing; the one I preferred was the Moscardini and the Muscoli Ripieni. We order many main dishes however my favorite were the Linguine al nero di seppia and the Fish ravioli. One of the most difficult to do I guess would have been the Gnocchi with Ricci sauce (sea urchin) as the Ricci has quite an amazing taste but it is very light, if mixed with stronger ingredients/amounts the result is not very good: Gambero Nero’s were perfect! No real lowlights, I would definitely recommend this amazing restaurant, a hidden pearl in Tellaro. If I have to be picky I would go when is not too crowded to enjoy the seafood dishes at their best!More

We had a leisurely lunch at Ristorante Il Gambero Nero, on the verandah; it was perfect for the last day of our holiday. That day (a weekday) there was no need for a reservation. We had seafood pasta followed by mixed fried seafood. Both were...delicious. The restaurant was happy for the two of us to share a single dish of each, and the portions were so generous that we would have felt satisfied with either! The house wine by the carafe was of good quality (not the case everywhere). The staff were welcoming and genuinely friendly (one of them was quite excited when he learned we were from Newcastle - "Alan Shearer!" he said). They gave us complimentary lemon (limoncello?) sorbets, which finished the meal nicely.More

Although the food was tasty, our meals were served 15 minutes apart! With the side order of vegetables arriving at our table a further 5 minutes later! 1 hour 10 minutes later not one member of staff had asked if we had enjoyed our meals,...or if we would like dessert, coffee or liquers, or even the bill. We felt invisible and eventually we had to go to the counter to pay our bill. When we explained how long we had waited, our complaint fell on deaf ears and we were presented with the bill for payment! We paid in full and decided never to return! Be warned, you may be treated with contempt!More

We had been there twice. Sea food is excellent, also their own wine, service could be better (the last time we had been there the servant wanted to offer us 2 limoncellos which never came). Sorbet of lemons also really nice

Fantastic and varied seafood menu in the restaurant with great service. Many others in the area let themselves down with long waits and poor service. However, gambero nero had fantastic service and fantastic food. I would recommend the seafood taster starter especially as we were...treated to a wide variety or excellent local dishes. A must for seafood lovers in Tellaro.More
