Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Initially, we had doubts about the Night Market on Gili Trawangan due to its less-than-hygienic appearance. However, my craving for a simply grilled red snapper led us to give it a try. The result? Absolutely delicious! The freshness of the fish and the straightforward grilling...technique made for a memorable meal. Encouraged by our first experience, we returned the next evening and added calamari to our menu. Once again, we were not disappointed. The calamari was perfectly cooked, tender, and flavorful. Tonight, we plan to visit the Night Market again. Despite initial reservations, the taste and quality of the seafood have won us over, making this a go-to spot for fresh, tasty seafood on the island.More

1. Food was nice, we really like the crepe stall in the rear. My teens loved the Nutella crepe. Behind the crepe guy are these clothes stalls where the shopkeepers are really polite and nice. Not trying to rip off tourists at all. My son...took a hair cut in the adjoining lane, the guy was so good that my son joked that he wanted to fly back to gili for the haircut again! Walk behind the market along the streets where there are local food stalls, that’s the real beauty of these islands. We cycled along the interiors and enjoyed ourselves, we also did the full circle of the island on our cycles which is about 7 kms. Do it at a relaxed place, should take about 45 mins to an hour maybe. End with watching the sunset at any of the beach bars in the south west, we liked this place called pink coco to watch the sunset.More

Actually we really love this place, it has a lot of food varieties especially their fresh grilled seafoods, you can find many other options, but I think it's too over price for us

Bad food experience. It is a pity they waste all the sea food which they burned on the grill. We had a lobster, calamari and mussels and we barely could eat them. They show you something and something else is coming from the grill. The...calamari was so hard that we left it there.More

STAY AWAY!!!!!! Gilli T’s biggest rip off! Background: we’ve travelled Asia for a couple of months, last week in Bali we ordered a single stick for IDR 1,000 and on Lombok (in the top rated restaurant) a portion of 4 for IDR 20,000 We approached...the stall, located front right corner as you face the beach, and looked at the menu. The server was chatty, very outgoing. We asked for chicken sate and the server immediately picked up 4 sticks (important to remember this), we then chose another 4 varieties and he picked up 4 sticks each time. The advertised price, as shown on the menu, was IDR 25,000 Food delivered, it was all ok, tasty, octopus severely overcooked but no dramas. Went to pay the bill, to find it was 4 times the expected amount! The server pointed out the cost shown was PER STICK, plus a COOKING FEE! My Wife asked where this was shown on the menu, and he laughed, and was very disrespectful. He pointed out (which we didn’t check) everyone does this. We asked for a receipt, which he got wrong, added extra we hadn’t had, and got the amounts wrong. Utterly terrible, staff don’t care, they want your money and want to rip you off. Total cost for the satay was €40! NEVER GO HERE!More

Good place for for a variety of meats, seafood, salads, sides and desserts. Prices can vary, especially on fresh seafood. Ensure you negotiate price and agree on cooking style and side dishes, usually get about five choices when a main is ordered. Most vendors will...explain their sides and sauces available. Some of the asking prices on the fresh seafood are quite high, so be prepared to negotiate or walk away. The skewers are the best value. Get there early for the samosas as they tend to sell out early. Try the black rice and cream for dessert.More

Thought it would be great to treat my son to some bbq seafood. Ordered 2 Jumbo prawns and 1 calamari. Total cost $80 AUD. Prices are based on per 900 grams so beware and calculate to per kg cost. Jumbo prawns worked out at $200...per kg and Calamari at $100 per kg! Best if buying, have it weighed and priced before accepting. This compares with a seafood platter in Sanur at a swank Restuarant for $42. Including a lobster, prawns, clams, and plenty of fresh tuna.More

The food is inexpensive. But I couldn’t deal with the noise nor the smells. I put my food in a takeaway container I had and ate outside. It would be fine for anyone wanting to eat cheap food in a hurry!

Went to the market with my partner expecting a great experience as with the majority of food markets around SEA. But beware the scam that they have at the fish stand, they will try everything not to give you the price at the outset and...will throw in extra fish on top of what you ask and on paying hit you with a bill x3 times what you will pay in the fish restaurants on the strip. The menu is misleading on purpose as they will claim to charge you per gram (with no evidence to show the weight). Found out later we were served by the boss of the stand so expect this to be pushed down through the employees.More

Nice attraction for tourists who wanna feel a bit mir local, and only chance to get some dinner on the Island after 10 p.m. Quality seems ok and safe, variety is huge, prices are pretty much the same as in the restaurants at the beach....Might be worth to check out options in the back - surprisingly even beer had a different (cheaper) price there.More

Good place to go for seafood dinner at somewhat cheaper price compared to restaurants on this island. Quite a lively place under the shed with many different displays where you can choose the seafood you like and they cook it and bring to your table....Some vendors add rice and vegetables to your seafood order which helps filling up the plate. The quality and flavor is OK for that price point. There are some dessert and smoothie vendors near by to put a nice finishing touch to your dinner.More

Things seem to have improved since I was here four years ago. More organised. Less dirty. Each of the stalls being a warung displays it’s sign above it’s nicely organised wares. Choose a warung where the person with the fly swatter is most active. The...are legion of flies, but to be expected with so much food on display. I don’t pretend to be an expert on fish, but the eyes looked clear and gills blushed crimson. The prices not too bad for Gili. Had a large fish for 150k, with the accompanying salad fed a dad and three year old. At 6pm we were along. By 7pm shared the market with a lot of seafood fans.More
