Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We came here for my sister’s birthday. The hostess Gabby accommodated us for a table and made it work even though we hadn’t booked which we were grateful for. We ordered a range of starters and a few of the fish dishes. The octopus, sea...bass and scallops were all great. Drinks were also good, including cocktails. The atmosphere was good there too, relaxed, laidback and a mix of people from couples to families. The team were great at helping us with singing happy birthday and organising a dessert cake for her too. All in all, we’d go back.More

Booked dinner for our last night in Ibiza after some wonderful dinners at other high end restaurants and sadly Mariner was a very poor last in our dining experiences We were very hopeful of a lovely evening upon arrival with a warm welcome and waitress...helpful with taking drinks orders however within minutes a small group of clearly ‘entitled’ lads sat next to us and started splashing cash with orders for champagne (demanding strawberries too!) and over the course of our meal they interrupted our waitress to tell her to get them a damp cloth as they had spilled a microscopic drop of food on their expensive clothing! Next was whistling for attention when they needed more champagne or other whims whilst we sat waiting for 40 minutes just to have anyone visit our table Sadly the food was very nice, the blue lobster starter and ravioli were stand outs, the almond cake unfortunately not as was just too dry but overall if rating on food alone would have been 4 stars but overall it was a very disappointing experience and when discussing with thé maître de she was very apologetic, along with the waitress being run ragged by the group, but money talks and rather than ignoring them for 5 minutes or just telling them to wait their turn the other customers suffered. As we were leaving another couple also pleaded to be given their bill as they had been waiting so long so we were likely not the only people not planning on returningMore

Our visit was an exceptional experience from start to finish. Here are my thoughts on various aspects of the restaurant: 1. Service: The service at Mariner was nothing short of exceptional. The staff demonstrated an incredible ability to read customers' body language, allowing us the...perfect amount of time with the menu after requesting more time. They also understood our request to hold off sending out the food and gave us ample time between each course. Their attentiveness was remarkable and truly added to the overall dining experience. 2. Waitress Juncal: I would like to give special recognition to our waitress, Juncal. She provided us with notably excellent service throughout the evening. Her friendly and warm demeanor made us feel right at home. She was attentive to our needs and made sure we had everything we required. Juncal's exceptional service definitely contributed to our overall enjoyment of the meal. 3. Gabi's Welcoming Service: Upon arrival, we were greeted by Gabi, who not only guided us to our table but also checked on us at the end of the meal. Her friendly and welcoming nature added a personal touch to our dining experience, and we appreciated her attention to detail. 4. Exceptional Food: The food at Mariner was truly outstanding. Each dish was prepared with precision and creativity. Among the notable courses, the Scallops with Truffle stood out for its delicate flavors and perfect execution. The combination of ingredients was harmonious and left a lasting impression. 5. Dishes Ordered: We had the pleasure of trying a variety of dishes, including the iberico jamon, scallops with truffle, buratta with avocado puree and tomato salad, black miso cod, and the desserts - almond tart and caramelized French toast with custard. Each dish was thoughtfully crafted, and the flavors were impeccable. The attention to detail in presentation and taste was commendable. 6. Setting and Ambiance: Mariner boasts a beautiful setting with stunning decor that perfectly captures the essence of Ibiza. The ambiance is warm, inviting, and relaxed, creating a pleasant and enjoyable atmosphere. Whether you're seated indoors or outdoors, you'll be surrounded by an enchanting vibe that enhances the dining experience. 7. Excellent Value for Money: One aspect that pleasantly surprised us was the excellent value for money at Mariner. Given the reputation of Ibiza as a high-end destination, we were pleased to find that Mariner offered exceptional quality and service without exorbitant prices. It was a refreshing change and made the experience even more enjoyable. In conclusion, I highly recommend Mariner restaurant in Ibiza Town. The exceptionally attentive service, friendly staff like Juncal and Gabi, outstanding food, beautiful setting, and excellent value for money make it a standout dining destination. I would undoubtedly return to Mariner for another memorable dining experience. Value 9/10 Service 10/10 Atmosphere 10/10 Decor 10/10 Food 9/10 OVERALL 9.5/10More

Booked Mariner in advance. Arrived really looking forward to a delicious meal. The restaurant was empty but we were greeted with distain rather than a smiling, friendly welcome by two surly faced young men. We were shown to what was probably the worst table available...away from the heaters. We were not offered a drink and the two waiters went back to chatting to each other. Eventually one returned with menus and asked us if we wanted water. He came back and plonked down the unopened bottle on the table - and walked away still no offer of a drink. This is not what we expected from such a highly rated restaurant. We left!More

The food was so delicious - I think it was the best terrine I've ever had. The service was also second to none. If I'm in Ibiza town again I'll definitely go back. The price is also very reasonable compared with the restaurants nearby and...I'd say the food is much better! Don't miss this restaurant - be sure to book ahead!More

The Mariner is not the place to eat if you are on a budget - however, if you are looking for a special place to eat, where the food and the service are both exceptional, then Mariner is the restaurant for you. My husband had...the King Crab Roll for starter, I had the Prawn Carpaccio; we both had the Grilled Octopus for main. Absolutely the best meal we ate both on Ibiza and Formentera.More
