We ate here a few years ago, and looked forward to a repeat on our current trip (May 2017). It was just as good as we remembered. I had the lasagna, which was absolutely divine, with lots of cheese and browned around the edges. My wife had the chick pea soup, also excellent. Dessert was spectacular, a chocolate-strawberry cake drenched... More

Step into any street of Deruta and you will find Taverna del Gusto. We four gals visited smaller towns in Umbria and found this gem! The staff was very friendly and suggested the daily special - which we loved! Do not miss their truffle and tagliarini pasta! Molte bene!

We were traveling from Rome to Florence with a stop in Deruta to enjoy the pottery. Our driver made some calls and then recommended Taverna del Gusto. What a treasure! It was very charming and featured some of the best Italian food that we had during our week stay in Italy. The lasagna and the gnocchi were exceptional!

This is a lovely restaurant in the historical centre of Deruta. The warm, rustic interior with old brick walls and simple, wooden furniture matches well with the location. I enjoyed a set menu here, so a full menu with antipasto right down to dessert. It was typical Umbrian food and very good, except for the cheescake at the end which... More

One could to find a better representation of quality, seasonal Umbrian food than Taverna del Gusto . Then menu is not extensive, which for us denotes a restaurant that caters to locals as well as visitors. The house wine is wonderful, whether white or red, but let the owner. Luciano choose for you and it will not disappoint! We always... More

Every year on our visit to Italy we stop in Deruta to purchase Ceramica and stop for lunch at this Ristorante. We have eaten inside and outdoors but one thing is consistent ... the food is excellent. The owner is friendly and speaks English as well. We already plan to stop on next years visit to Deruta.

We love eating outdoors and were drawn to the neat alley with no traffic and plenty of privacy. The first thing I noticed was that there were canvas tarps over the tables for shade and they were COVERED with pigeon poop. I tried not to look up. Looking down wasn't so great either. The lasagna had 2 layers, flat as... More
