A great stop off. Although i am sure some items are vintage a lot aren't but it is still a great place to potter and enjoy a homemade ginger beer in the restaurant. Lots of food stuff too. Zebra pate with red wine and rosemary anyone? Very friendly donkeys in the field next door.

Oh my goodness! What a delight and DISAPPOINTMENT! I was so excited and felt like a kid in a candy store. What a variety, what a choice. And then the reality. The moment you see the price on the item any desire to buy vanishes. We have been touring the Cape and have stopped at every possible roadstall. This one... More

Cute little place, high up in the hills. The drive in from Stanford was picturesque & scenic, and it was very easy to find. The food was simple yet satisfying, and there are plenty of trinkets & treasures to find in this place. I doubt the authenticity of some of them though, so beware you are not buying a cheap... More

We have passed by many times but decided we had to stop this time. This is the number one "farm stall" in South Africa. On the stoep i found a braai grid that i had to have. One and a half hours later we left with a home baked pie that would feed two easily, at R35 it is a... More

Situated next to the N3 highway, close to Caledon in the Western Cape. Great atmosphere and very good local food. Plenty items to buy and to look at. Great shopping.

I went in search of a barbeque utensil I'd been advised was sold at the Dassiesfontein Farm Store, and I spent over two hours just looking around at the myriad of old and new knick knacks that covered every square inch of this amazing store. I had breakfast there too which was very substantial. The bread had been made in... More

In short its a 1 stop farm stall much like a departmental store. The breakfast is a farm style wholesome food.

stopped on the spur of the moment on our travels - so glad we did! What an Amazing find! to think we planned to get a quick coldrink - instead we spent hours walking around and looking at all the treasures...you name it it is here...somewhere. this place is so much more than about food! Wished I had had space... More

I've read about Dassiesfontein and thought that the stop would be great! We wanted to have lunch at Dassiesfontein. One cannot book a table in advance at the restaurant. So we thought we would buy a freshly baked pie at the bakery side. We stood in the que at least for half an hour. There was only one lady to... More
