Dassiesfontein is one of those places that you simply want to stop at, even though you have been there 100 times before. My wife and I love popping on our bike trips even if it just for a cup of coffee. Hopefully Harley Davidson riders will find my photo amuzing.

This is a countryside restaurant at Dassiesfontein on the N2 between Grabouw and Caledon, with a variety of eats and a number of small shops which provides for a collection of clothing and other items.

We stopped for breakfast at Dassiesfontein and was pleasantly surprized. Found good value for money. A stunning farm breakfast with home made bread. Can recommend it!

On a busy long weekend Dassiesfontein is heaving with families, bikers and bargain hunters. Other than having to wait for a breakfast table due to the rush, the food was wholesome and the service was efficient. Best of all was the coffee and the takeaway pies from their little shop. The pie of the day was venison and it has... More

An amazing place to visit! A hive of activity...freshly baked and prepared local foods like "pap & kaiings, roosterkoek", freshly baked bread, etc is an absolute must to try. A large collection of coal and wood burning stoves, including replacement parts for most of these as well. A farm stall to visit time and again...each time one travels the N2... More

The restaurant was full and they put us on a waitinglist. There is enough to see so we walked around till they called us for a free table. We ordered coffee and milktart but the milktart was finished. No problem they wwill go to the shop to buy one. In 10 minutes we had the tart. Very good service

Dear friends took us on a scenic drive to Greyton on the recent Freedom Day. On the way we made a short stop at Dassiesfontein Farm Stall for a coffee and breakfast. What a gem. The short pit stop turned into a most pleasant and relaxing dining and browsing experience – lasting almost 3 hours. The hospitable and most caring... More

We have been stopping here on our way to Cape Town almost every time. It is pretty well situated as the drive from here to Cape Town is not so long. It has so many nooks and crannies filled with interesting merchandise that I do not think we will ever see it all. Their freshly baked bread in the oven... More
