Had lunch here with my friend. The staff were outstanding, friendly and very helpful. My friend and I had the same meal (seafood pancake) which was hot and tasty with an excellent side-salad with a honey and mustard dressing. Our visit was on a Thursday at 12.30 and it was very busy - booking a table is strongly recommended. I... More

Its a couple of years since our last visit but it has the same quirkiness but in the area we were eating tables and chairs had been updated. Service with a smile and warmth, no long waits although we ate early and it was getting busier when we left. The food was very good, served promptly on hot plates, and... More

Visited here while visiting the area for Sunday lunch and I have to say that the food a waiting staff were excellent. As in other review's, we found the manager to be, I can only say, hyperactive. This is not a place to visit if you are disabled, wheelchair access seemed to be impossible and, despite my stating, when I... More

This is my first time writing a review but feel I should after reading the latest negative reviews!! How rude some people are, I visit this pub several times a year when I am in the area so am not a local but have always been welcomed and looked after, the food has always been to a high standard and... Ordered light lunch with friends. Sandwiches delivered and clearly could taste cheap margarine type spread, which I detest, so I asked for them to be remade with butter. Rude waiting staff advised it was butter. I advised it certainly wasn't and could it be remade. Off she went huffing and puffing to then redeliver the sandwich still saying the last... More

Found this place by accident after a visit to West Dean and Halnaker. We had tea and a slice of lemon drizzle. The cake was really good and the tea served in old fashioned china. The people were friendly but the whole place needs a thorough clean. This would put me off eating a meal here.
