Fantastic food, slightly disappointing service!

We have just eaten at Habana 6 and were really impressed with the food. We had garlic prawns to start, which were still sizzling in their oil at the table. They were succulent and flavoursome with slices of garlic in the oil and also a small piece of chilli. For our mains we had lamb cutlets and pork secret, both of which were delicious. They were served on an olive wood platter, with a selection of al dente vegetables, beautifully presented. The disappointing things were that we were not told about the ‘specials’ when we ordered, and we ordered a glass of cava, which appeared on the bill, but never materialised. They removed that from the bill when we pointed out that they had not brought it, but it was a disappointing omission, hence the four stars instead of five.

One not to be missed! Fabulous meal...!

We tried Habana 6 and boy where we impressed! We hadn’t booked but the guys found us a table on a Saturday night. The service was attentive and we where looked after by all the staff on the evening. We had the croquettes & canary potatoes for starters, my wife had the sirloin and I went for the mixed grill and we just managed a creme brûlée between us. Every dish was spot on, hot and extremely tasty and beautifully presented, when we received our bill we where shocked at how good the price was, we honestly thought it would be a lot more. We found this restaurant on our last night here so was gutted however when we return this will be the first place we will book. Looking forward to coming back already... thank you for a super evening. 😁

There is not much to criticise here. We went there 2 nights in a row and it was always a wonderful meal. the highlight was the brazed rabbit with mushrooms for 2. I think it was about 17 euros pp and the portion was huge. It was one of the best dishes i had in a long time. the octopus was an honorable metion as well since it was just perfectly seasoned and cooked. Tender like a filet. apart from that the staff was very nice and very atentive. The only slightly critical point you could make was that the truffle purees the serve with some dishes could be a little more different in taste. But that would be critic on a very high level. All in all the prices are amazing for what you get and the quality of the food is top notch. Would recommend.

Good food let down by poor customer service

We were delighted to be able to get a table on the night but when we came back at 8.30 it was not quite ready. Fair enough but we had to stand by the entrance for a few minutes as the staff brushed past several times, which was far from ideal. When we got to sit down I ordered a vegetarian pasta dish and was asked what type of sauce I wanted: bolognese or pesto and I said bolognese but emphasised that I was a non meat eater. Unfortunately when my main arrived it was meat based and when I said I did not eat meat a member of staff told me in a patronising tone that I had ordered a bolognese dish which would obviously be meat based. They did prepare a replacement pesto based dish, but by the time it arrived the ambience had clearly changed for the worse. A nearby diner explained that the concept of vegetarian bolognese is not as common in here as in the UK. When the manager asked me if everything was OK when paying the bill I did explain the food was fine but that we had a long wait and that the concept of a vegetarian bolognese is increasingly common in the UK and he did, in fairness, acknowledge this. I notice that any reviews that are in any way negative are responded to by the restaurant which generally states the reviewer does not understand the concept of Habana 6 and/or the misunderstanding is mainly the fault of the reviewer rather than the restaurant. Well we did understand the 'concept' of Habana 6 because we have been before, enjoyed it and even recommended the restaurant to another couple the night before we went. It would be good if the restaurant replied to constructive criticism or negative reviews with a bit more humility and then the customer service would match the high quality of the food. I have waited over a week to write this to ensure I am not reviewing without a period of reflection but still feel that whilst the food on offer is excellent the ambience and service on the night we visited did not match the quality of the food.

Style over substance

Very disappointed, booked based on recommendations here but sadly had the least good dining experience of our time all over Lanzarote. The young gentleman server was dismissive of our requests and queries and not friendly - when we had called in to book the table the girl then had been really friendly. Items being served were not as detailed on the menu (eg sea bream instead of sea bass which he tried to pass off as the same thing). It’s weird, the duchess potatoes were stone cold so did not fit with the rest of the dish. Be aware if you order beef they extensively sprinkle salt crystals on it when serving which may work for some tastes but not other. Service was very rushed, its not a relaxing dining experience, clearly they want you to sit and make immediate choices and they hover around to whip away plates as soon as you have your last mouthful. I would happily pay their prices if the ambience and service reflected that level, but it did not. Might try it one lunch time but it was such a disappointment for a Saturday night

We regret his experience, but there are things he says that are not true, we have never offered gilt in the menu and the fish I drink was sea bass as we told him, there is a certain similarity that he apparently did not appreciate, he told us in the restaurant that everything It was to his liking and now he describes us in another way, I reiterate his experience, he apparently did not understand our concept, we simply limited ourselves to meet the needs of our clients without complications or beliefs. I have a good day

Hidden Gem

Very friendly reception when we arrived just after 7pm even though we hadn't booked a table. Relaxed atmosphere and great staff. My wife had croquettes with mustard and aioli whilst I settled for garlic prawns, 2 delicious starters. To follow my wife had a vegetarian burger made up of spinach and almond with a rocqfuort cheese sauce and a generous helping of hand cut chips. I had a black pasta seafood dish in sauce which was delicious. I am not surprised this is one of the top rated restaurants on the island but be aware you need a very hearty appetite with some of the main courses. Would definitely recommend.

The one!

We’ve spent plenty of days to find an authentic Spanish restaurant in the neighborhood. Fortunately we came across Habana 6 and were just amazed! Definitely start with the meat boards and bottle of Cava! Then try the fish board, they serve amazing truffled mash with it and the fish are cooked to perfection! Try local wines recommended by servers! The staff is super nice, attentive, yet not intrusive. In general the place was so interesting, we visited two days in a row!

Fantastic find, great cook, couple couple, bright airy and friendly.

Don’t be put off by location, name or diverse menu, it is the most fantastic find, lovely couple and great cook. We were trying to find little, least touristy, good food place and what a find. Located right in the far corner of a massive tourist food square. I ordered the tuna chunks with chia and Japanese sauce by the side. I had it medium cooked and have to say was the most delicious I have ever tasted. We also ordered the tuna and avocado tartare, again delicious. Then I wanted simple fish dish so choose prawns and spinach in lots of lovely olive oil with tagliatelle. Again delicious and perfectly cooked. My partner had the lamb chops, med rare, served on board with lots of scrummy, ‘al dente’ vegetables. The young waitress said her husband does the cooking with another guy. We went to see them and they were so friendly, hats off to them all. ‘

Overpriced Food for what you receive.

We had an evening meal at Habana 6 on the first night of our holiday and found it to be very underwhelming. My Steak was ok, my wife's Sea Bass overcooked. We were sat on a very busy road with many people walking past which made the atmosphere poor. When the final bill came we were shocked to find that it came to £98, this proved to be the most expensive meal by far during our holiday which was just not worth it.

This is hands down the best

This is hands down the best restaurant in lanzarote. My boyfriend and I LOVE food and are always putting food first on our travels. Habana 6 did not disappoint. The service was incredible, there were only three people serving a very busy restaurant and we never felt unattended, nothing was too much trouble for these guys. We started with the croquettes and the prawns both are a must. We followed with the mixed meat grill and the tuna steak, both were cooked to perfection with the most delicious sauces to accompany. The vegetables were also cooked aldente which just topped the meal off. We had a gorgeous creme brule to share and two espressos. We also had two litres of sangria to wash it alll down (this of course did not impair our review - when in costa Teguise after all :)) This is a real must!!! Ps this was our most reasonable bill - we were truly in shock for the value, you really can’t beat it. A solid 11/10 (and we are really hard scorers) Thanks to all at Havana 6 and see you soon xx

Cosy, friendly, really good food, big portions

We came here, two adults and two children, based on a very good review, and was not disappointed. The restaurant is located in the very turisty area of Costa Teguise, but the atmosphere is completely different, relaxed and friendly. The food was delicious, levels above other places in the area, at a very reasonable price. Only caveat was the accoustics, which were a little “hard”.

After reading the amazing reviews we were confident we were in for a treat. We ordered garlic bread and croquettes for starters. The croquettes were tasty, the garlic bread was a slice of toasted bread with minimal flavour and substance. My partner ordered roasted chicken which when presented to her was actually deep fried, greasy and overcooked. Not what you expect from a five star rated restaurant. My fish platter was adequate but over cooked. We didn’t stay for dessert. The table adjacent to us were also complaining as they were served incorrect meals. Maybe a one off night , shame as we were looking forward to it.

We came here for a late lunch on our first day in Costa Teguise. We shared the seafood and vegetables in tempura batter to start which was very good. Mains were mushroom risotto and the mixed grill of three different types of fish, both delicious. The chef delivered our meals to our table and was very friendly.

Perfection

We had an absolutely wonderful evening here tonight. The waiter was professional and knowledgeable, helping us to pick food and drinks when we asked for his opinion. The food itself was sensational. My partner had the lamb and I had the T-bone. Both just melted in the mouth. The sides were cooked to perfection too. For those anxious about COVID-19, the restaurant was spaced out, masks were worn, sanitiser was offered and QR codes were used for the menu. We would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Very tasty food with quick service... Be aware there is no kids menu

Brilliant... Quick service and very tasty food. We ate here last night as a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 children). Ordered bread to share as a starter, followed by burgers and a mixed kebab. I had the mixed grill which was delicious and a decent size, served with chunky chips and vegetables. I asked for the steak medium rare and it was cooked to perfection . My wife had the super burger with goats cheese which was also delicious. The kids also had burgers each. Which were very good. My only criticism is that there is no kids menu. We asked one of the servers if they did a kids menu and she said no but they could do a plain burger, spaghetti or chicken nuggets. We ordered them the burger, but when it arrived it was basically the same as my wife's super burger just without any cheese or additional toppings. It also cost the same price, but the kids couldn't eat half of it. It was huge. This was our most expensive meal in costa Teguise over the last 2 weeks. 2 beers, 1 water, 1 wine, bread to share, 3 burgers and mixed grill was € 70 euro. You couldn't get that meal back home in the UK for that so I was still happy with the price but around €15 to €20 more expensive than elsewhere in Costa Teguise. I would still recommend as the food was tremendous.
