This place had some of the best food I have ever tasted. Highly recommended. Go early if you can because this place can really fill up. On another note, stay away from the restaurants inside El Parian. Those are gross tourist traps.

Had a great time on my second visit to El Abajeno. The food and service was still as good as I remembered it. Added bonus this time was the live mariachi band which was very entertaining.

This place was so busy but they got us in pretty quickly and served us well. Lots of good people watching and entertainment. A large band. And then Latin dancers. One of the best chile rellenos I have had. Salsa was okay, not the best.

Sunny afternoon, breeze and a good lunch. The patio is very attractive, you can relax and enjoy the meal. The food isn't outstanding, good is a fair rank, the place is great if you time to enjoy. Worth the visit, $ 45.00 for three, no drinks.

This was our second time here and this time was better than the first! The first time we came, we came during the weekend. It was suuuuper noisy and way too crowded! Service wasn't all that great because well there were tons of people! However, this time, it was the middle of the week and very few tables were taken!... More

The food here was just ok, nothing to brag about but I really enjoyed the partially outdoor atmosphere and mariachi music. The restaurant was very busy and service was a little slow but everyone was friendly. Also a plus for me is that it was handicap accessible.

We went there with our family and were so disappointed. We arrived and the place was half empty. We stood at the host stand about 15 mins before being noticed. The server was on his own and we could tl he was trying his best. Food was just ok, really average. We had arrachera, tampiquena, quesadillas... none were great. We... More

I has the chicken fajitas and they were just ok. I have had a tough time finding good restaurants in Tlaqapaque. Just as happy eating at quarto kilo next to this place for 100p.

This is a massive restaurant a little off the main historic centre area. It is a wonderful hive of activity with at least two Mariachi bands playing in different corners of the enourmous patio garden restaurant. It definitely isn't a place to go for a quiet romantic candle light dinner but it is a place to go to enjoy the... More
