Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My anticipation for a pleasant dining experience at Mecure Gold Coast Resort's Green Dining turned into a series of disappointments. Jess's commendable efforts to address my concerns about an overly alcoholic spritz were overshadowed by subsequent miscommunications and lapses in service. Despite Jess's commitment, my...meal was mistakenly removed during my brief absence, and the blame unfairly shifted to my 14-year-old son. While Joao's attempt to rectify the situation with a takeaway box was appreciated, the confusion persisted when I received salad instead of the lamb shanks I ordered. Simona's oversight at the payment desk, coupled with an unexplained charge for the undrunk spritz, further added to the overall disappointment. Attempts to clarify were met with resistance. The treatment I received significantly impacted my experience. The venue's management, led by Joao and Simona, could benefit from additional training. A concerning incident occurred when Jess seemed influenced by Simona, leading to audible conversations and laughter about me. This behavior was disheartening and fell short of the hotel's expected standards. On a positive note, Natalia stood out as a paragon of professionalism. Her elegance and decorum set a benchmark for her coworkers, offering a shining example of customer service and restaurant etiquette. Her commitment to excellence deserves commendation, providing a contrast to the behavior observed elsewhere. I believe Natalia's approach showcases the potential for improvement within the team. It's my hope that the management addresses these concerns promptly to uphold the hotel's reputation for outstanding service.More

Attended this restaurant several times, both as a couple and on another occasion, a group of friends. Service was great and food was really nice. Nice ambience with dining both inside and on the deck.

The staff were very friendly, and helpful with recommendations for what to eat off the menu. The food is simple (bistro style food) and is set inside a resort hotel, and what you see is what you get. The steak was cooked perfectly, and the...greens were tasty. Potato’s lacked a bit of flavour, although with some butter or a bitter-based sauce could have been improved a little. The entree arancini balls, and focaccia bread were tasty. The desert brownie was OK, but the ice cream was very creamy and tasty.More

My wife and I recently stayed at the Mercure Gold Coast resort and had dinner at The Green. We had entrees of a sourdough baugette and salt & pepper calamari, for mains we had a crispy Asian Salad with grilled chicken pieces and a BBQ...Chicken pizza and for desserts sticky date pudding and a vanilla bean panna cotta. Servings were generous and all courses were tasty, with the only minor criticism being that the grilled chicken pieces were very dry. Service was attentive without being intrusive. The cost was $112 and being Silver Accor members we received a 50% discount which made this excellent value. TCMore

The Green offers a reasonable range of meal options for dinner, most of which could be described as traditional comfort food. On our two dinner occasions, we selected a different meal and were very satisfied with our choices. The portions for mains are quite generous,...so perhaps an entrée and/or desert to share per couple would be sufficient. Prices for food and beverages are not expensive, just comparable to any equivalent restaurant. The service was sensibly attentive and professional.More

All 4 meals were great. The Lamb shanks and the Pork spare ribs just fell off the bone. Then of course the steaks, all cooked as requested.

Pleasant dining. Not a huge range of dishes to choose from but the steak, was properly cooked as requested. Took a while once seated for someone to come with menus, water etc. Once orders were taken though the service was good. Pleasant dining without being...exceptional. What one would expect in a hotel chain of this standing.More

Booked restaurant at the Mercure as my brother and sister-in-law where staying there. Our booking was for 7pm and at 7.35 we called the waitress to ask her to take our order. When the food arrived we had no cutlery and had to wait for...that, then we had to ask for napkins. The food was well presented but sadly all the meals where barely warm, especially the 2 fish meals. We asked 3 times for some water, finally that arrived. I mentioned to the waitress that the meal would have been much nicer if it had been hot. She came back and said she had reported to her supervisor, when we went to pay the account no mention was made about our complaint. So my brother once again told them of the cool food and poor service. I always advise if there is a problem, not to gain any compensation, but to advise them so improvements can be made. I was disappointed that we did not receive any acknowledgment. Will definitely not visit this restaurant again.More

This restaurant looks out over greens, fairways and swimming pool. And at eye level with coconut palms. The ceiling was high, the decor tropical and modern (almost neo-60s style) and the ambience utterly relaxing. In fact it would not have been out of place in...Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand or Hawaii! We ate there on three occasions, and enjoyed excellent service and food. It's family-friendly and reasonably close to most of the Gold Coast's many attractions. The car park is underground and capacious, the drinks reasonably priced and the decor in the rooms updated and completely inviting. It was a pleasure to stay there and we were sorry to leave!More

Hungry and tired from our travels, we were hanging out for a good feed. We ordered two serves of the salt and pepper calamari, a parmi and nachos. Waiting 45 minutes for a few meals from the bar snacks menu in a near empty house...was quite dissatisfying. The parmi itself was yummy, though half the plate was occupied by an unappetising serve of garnish, which they called ‘salad’. The calamari, which was not very tasty, didn’t have a spec of pepper and again it’s side ‘salad’ we’re a handful of dry leaves and an abundance of sprouts. The most disappointing was our serve of nachos. A small bowl of uncooked chips topped with 4 particle sized pieces of diced tomato and a whopping 3 pieces of diced onion, cold bean mix and too much sour cream. I was upset for my younger sister who’d been keen for her favourite dish for dinner. Thank you for your polite service, but the meals were disappointing.More

We visited for lunch as a group while attending a recent conference. We were given a menu to choose from so that we could pre-order, which was fine. However, just about everything was fried, deep fried or was just not a healthy option. The only...salad on offer was Caesar salad, which is often soaked in dressing. Would love to have had a nice fresh salad or vegetarian dish. Opted for the chicken parmagiana, which was just OK. The staff were lovely and very attentive. If the menu was revised to include some healthier options, I may return.More

Great breakfasts, but certainly not fine dining in the evenings. The quality could be likened to 'pub food'. Ingredients were high quality, but cooking of them very poor. Prices are mid-range, but not reflected in the standard of the food at night.

My father stayed at this resort and we had dinner at the venue one evening beautiful food and lovely young waitress although not much knowledge on anything she was polite with good service. Menu items are quite classy and limited to just a few however...it is very good fine dining food calamari was really nice. Another occasion we had the buffet breakfast which has everything and was soo delish however the front of house staff seemed stressed and were getting stroppy and impatient with some customers at the front desk not a very good look as it was seen by many other customers and myself entering the restaurant also as it is in the main lobby so a little bit unprofessional. Beautiful poolside venue otherwise.More
