The Lamb Shank & potatoe was served at best, luke warm BUT the veggies were off" soggy- disgusting!! I politely & humbly informed the order taker and waited at length to tell Club Manager who said I should have brought the meal to her. However I had already eaten the potatoe & lamb shank but obviously couldn't eat the veggies!... More

Well I just love this place. I visit Germany a lot, and miss the food and the fun Carnaval seen, and The German Club at Merrimac keeps me indulged in my German Heritage. Yes its full of older people, but more and more younger people are coming back. I go for The German Sausage Platter or huge Pork Knuckle or... More

We enjoy weissbier - it is expensive everywhere BUT not here.. !! You would fork out $13.50 for 500ml of Frabziscaaner in Sydney Rocks Munich brauhaus and get served 2cm below the 500ml line - here you pay $10.50 and get above the line... Nice place to come for a beer but the average age of customers is above 60.... More

I ordered the pate which was only liverwurst from the supermarket! Also ordered the soup of the day which was tasty but too thick.

Took my elderly Dutch father in law here for an authentic schnitzel, he loved it !! Long tables where people interacted with each other added to the atmosphere of the day. The rest of us had such a good time getting into the spirit of things. Heaps of different beers and a good selection of other drinks the band got... More

I was looking forward to going here and experiencing German cuisine but it was a bit disappointing. The food just wasn't that great. I could cook better bratwurst on the BBQ. Unfortunately the band was too loud for conversation between friends. The bar selection was really good with lots of different drinks to choose from including nice German beer

Great bratwurst! So tender and luscious. The sauerkraut was perfect, not too salty and very tender. The potatoes and gravy were a perfect accompaniment. The German beer on tap was just the beverage too. It's such a cozy atmosphere, particularly on a cloudy, chilly Sunday. The club makes you feel as if you'd walked into a pleasant German pub. And... I decided to take my mother out for lunch on a very overcast dismal day on the Gold Coast and we decided on the German Club. What a beautiful experience. It was just like sitting in Europe for two hours. From the moment you walk in you feel welcomed and at home. The food was fantastic, great live German music,... More
