Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Don’t pay any attention to the negative reviews! This place is awesome! We have lunch here every time we come to Surfers & have never had a bad meal or experience yet. The service was first class, the food fresh, superbly cooked & well presented....I highly recommend this restaurant.More

The location is excellent and the food was A grade but the manager was so unfriendly and unwelcoming and frankly rude. The waiter was efficient and friendly but the rudeness of the manager was completely unacceptable and completely ruined the the day. Even the staff...could not explain his rudeness.More

Disappointed, male staff very sarcastic, with total lack of interest, when asked where the men's room was ,told me next to the ladies (really) our waiter seemed totally bored with his job . Food was very average, with poor servings . This restaurant seems to be living...on past reputation .if it was a fine dinning experience, it certainly isn't now ,This was a special occasion meal ,left very let down with whole experience,,sorry we did not book elsewhere.More

We booked Omerous restaurant over 2 weeks ago for our 40th wedding anniversary, as we had previously dined there on numerous occassions when we were in the Gold Coast. However, last night was terrible to say the least, we arrived and were nearly impolitely sat...down, when our waiter, George, finally decided to come and serve us it was like he didn’t want to be there and he was short and gruff (and this was evident all evening). We ordered our dinner (well we tried to order a seafood platter for two), of which this restaurant boasts the freshest seafood on the Gold Coast, well guess what…. They had no fresh seafood to serve, what a bloody joke (there was no apology or no mention of this fact prior to seating us either). Overall our alternate meals were absolutely lovely, but the service was atrocious….. and will prevent us going back (the mirage across the road the previous night had all fresh seafood and their service was outstanding). This restaurant is synonymous with Gold Coast and has taken its eye off the service standards.More

An unpleasant romantic birthday evening. No pleasant greeting upon entry. Only "What's your name?" Inside table with no water view and next to a large family with noisy kids. Requested to move to a table outside away from the noise. Moved to outside table on...the waterside and soon after another large family with noisy kids sat behind us. Three other couples around us complained about the noisy family with kids. Not pleasant when you have to raise your voice to talk over the noise. The food was disappointing. Oysters Kilpatrick, burnt. Steak, paper thin. Sauce, very salty. Our experience. Not a romantic place.More

Certainly a fine dinning experience worth the money. A beautiful French Rosè matched the relaxing no rush lunch fare. Avocado seafood entrees followed by the chilli plum mudcrab rivals any I had before. Service was terrific and very friendly.

The food was stunning, but the wait staff were extremely unfriendly and unhelpful. The manager showed is to our seats and didn't even say hello, not a word. Then our waiter Mark ran around all night. We only knew his name because i asked him....No explanation of the menu, no hello, no nothing. He even whipped away our empty glasses before dessert without offering us any more drinks. I guess he wanted to go home, even though the restaurant was full. At one stage he came to our table holding a frying pan asking us what we wanted for dessert. The chef's though, man, they can cook. The food was absolutely stunning.More

This is a fake restaurant. Looks like one but does not deliver the goods! We waited 15 minutes for a waiter to take an order. The waiter was abrupt and unwelcoming. The natural oysters had been opened hours before and had no natural liquid in...the shell. We ordered a bottle of riesling and a sav Blanc turned up. The bouillabaisse is not bouillabaisse but tomato soup with seafood. The snapper en papillote was not accompanied by the fresh salad as promised on the menu. When plates were cleared we asked for the dessert menu, waited 10 minutes then decided to leave. We had to go find a waiter to get the bill. No second chances for this joint!More

8.25 on a Saturday evening, 3 responsible gents in our 70s sought a table only to be told “Sorry, we are fully booked “ - the restaurant was very empty, lots of tables ( I have photos!) Rude and annoying excuse for not catering for...3 diners. Returned to our accommodation at the Sheraton Mirage (fabulous place) and dined there . Get a better story, maybe “we just can’t be bothered ?” Would never go there again.More

In summary, the service we experienced at this restaurant was incredibly disappointing, making it a risky choice. We had made a reservation a week in advance, noting it as a 'special occasion: date night.' When we called to let them know we'd be running 10...minutes late, they were fine with it. Upon arrival, we found a queue ahead of us, and our excitement quickly turned to disappointment. We waited for our turn, but the receptionist barely acknowledged us, seemingly engrossed in her tablet. This was our first red flag. A tall, bald, and seemingly unapproachable waiter escorted us to a corner table. When we inquired about the possibility of a table with a water view, we were told they were all taken. That seemed reasonable. However, when we asked again later if we could move should such a table become available, we were informed that it was against the restaurant's policy. This was unexpected and unusual in our experience. We discussed this with the waiter, who was clearly emotional about it. This was another red flag. I attempted to diffuse the situation, but the waiter responded with a snide comment, and it was clear he was upset. A second waiter, a pregnant white lady, approached our table to pour water but ignored our previous concerns. This was yet another red flag. We waited for a response, hoping for an explanation, but she returned only to try to sell us drinks. It seemed the entire staff at Omeros had forgotten their roles in the hospitality industry. At this point, it's difficult to understand how they could operate with such staff. Frustrated and feeling unwelcome, we informed them that we couldn't find anything to eat, and with another snide remark from the bald waiter, we decided to leave. Whether we somehow upset the staff, or it was simply a bad night for them, or there was a deeper issue, we can't say. We hope others won't have their evenings ruined by the service at Omeros.More

7th October - booked this restaurant as a surprise lunch for my mums 90th Birthday. There were 18 of us altogether, right from the moment we walked in and were greeted by Lachlan I knew it was going to be a great afternoon, Scott our...waiter was awesome, everything went smoothly including the cake we bought with us, which was just a Woolies cake was cut and plated by the chef exquisitely, the food was 5 star all round, and we couldn't have been better looked after, we arrived at 12.20pm and left at 4.30pm, I would highly recommend this restaurant for all you celebrations. We will be back for an evening meal with friends and possibly booking our business Christmas party. Well done all and thank you for making mums special birthday so memorable.More

Around 12 of us enjoyed lunch for Father’s Day at this restaurant. Service was great with the same person looking after us throughout the afternoon. We all tried different seafood dishes, all were very nice. There is a great outlook over the Broadwater and marinas.

This has been one of my go to restaurants every time I visit from South Australia. My recent experience was quite a let down. Normally the service has been excellent, but my sister and I unfortunately got an indifferent and rude waiter who gave terrible...service. After waiting seemingly forever after our main courses I asked another waiter whether they could assist with coffee. Lo and behold our waiter miraculously materialised and told us he as very busy with a large table! We got out of there as soon as we could. What a pity…such a lovely restaurant let down by one staff member.More

Definitely smart casual. During weekdays at both lunch and dinner the restaurant is attended by a lot of business people so suits are not unusual. It is a classy restaurant so worth making the effort to dress accordingly.

Yes , I think they are able to BYO. I think it would be a good idea to look at their website or call them first, incase things have changed but when we went it was ok, for a corkage price.
