We've been lunching at Omeros Bros for 26 years and always have at least one lunch here every time we visit the Gold Coast. If it's Monday, it's lunch at Omeros. This time, we were disappointed to hear that Ian had retired but were delighted to catch up with John again. We usually share a main size crumbed bugs for entree and both have the grilled snapper for mains but she decided on the lobster salad for her main and it was huge. We noticed later that a group of four was sharing one at a nearby table. Anyway, she got through it with a little help from me and we asked for a doggie box for the fruit component. With 9 months off alcohol, she had a virgin mojito instead of her usual margarita (big test of willpower considering that the Omeros recipe is her favourite) but my Ink gin martini was great as always and I finished off the small remainder of my bottle of La Crema chardonnay back at the Sheraton that night. Consistent reliable excellence will keep us coming back to Omeros for, hopefully, many more years to come.

I was a little worried about going, based on some of the more recent comments around slow service but decided to still give it a try! I’m not sure if things have picked up since or if we just got lucky but service was perfect and the food was fantastic! We had Ash as our waitress and she was lovely and perfectly on time. Albeit the staff are constantly very busy, it’s a big restaurant! But we had no issues. My husband had the surf and turf, which was delicious (I want to return so I can have it myself!!) and I had the seafood marinara which was also very good. We both felt like the value for money was great - really great to have a good seafood restaurant that doesn’t charge extortionate prices for dinner! We both loved it and would definitely return! 100% recommend the surf and turf!!

The best morton bay lobsters so far i tried in Gold coast. They cooked it so well. The day i went was friday and almost full booking. Book in advance. Price for us is reasonable. They got kid menu as well. Their portion is flexible so you can choose entree size or starter size. Don’t forget to order the crepe for dessert. See my pictures

This is a fake restaurant. Looks like one but does not deliver the goods! We waited 15 minutes for a waiter to take an order. The waiter was abrupt and unwelcoming. The natural oysters had been opened hours before and had no natural liquid in the shell. We ordered a bottle of riesling and a sav Blanc turned up. The bouillabaisse is not bouillabaisse but tomato soup with seafood. The snapper en papillote was not accompanied by the fresh salad as promised on the menu. When plates were cleared we asked for the dessert menu, waited 10 minutes then decided to leave. We had to go find a waiter to get the bill. No second chances for this joint!

We booked Omerous restaurant over 2 weeks ago for our 40th wedding anniversary, as we had previously dined there on numerous occassions when we were in the Gold Coast. However, last night was terrible to say the least, we arrived and were nearly impolitely sat down, when our waiter, George, finally decided to come and serve us it was like he didn’t want to be there and he was short and gruff (and this was evident all evening). We ordered our dinner (well we tried to order a seafood platter for two), of which this restaurant boasts the freshest seafood on the Gold Coast, well guess what…. They had no fresh seafood to serve, what a bloody joke (there was no apology or no mention of this fact prior to seating us either). Overall our alternate meals were absolutely lovely, but the service was atrocious….. and will prevent us going back (the mirage across the road the previous night had all fresh seafood and their service was outstanding). This restaurant is synonymous with Gold Coast and has taken its eye off the service standards.

Disappointing service and food. We had to return a dish to be reheated and the snapper filets we ordered looked and tasted more like barramundi!! The staff are polite, but there seems to be a disconnect between the delivery of food items. The entrees were very good, but the main courses lacked flavour. Desert choices very limited. We have been coming to this restaurant for many years, but it needs to improve on multiple fronts before we return.

The food was stunning, but the wait staff were extremely unfriendly and unhelpful. The manager showed is to our seats and didn't even say hello, not a word. Then our waiter Mark ran around all night. We only knew his name because i asked him. No explanation of the menu, no hello, no nothing. He even whipped away our empty glasses before dessert without offering us any more drinks. I guess he wanted to go home, even though the restaurant was full. At one stage he came to our table holding a frying pan asking us what we wanted for dessert. The chef's though, man, they can cook. The food was absolutely stunning.

This would have to be my favourite seafood restaurant on the Gold Coast. Everything is 5 star. The service is excellent, but the food is exceptional. I had oysters kilpatrick which were perfect followed by Bugs also exceptional and they were large and yummy. My husband had steak and said it was also really good. Highly recommend this great place

The service is consistently second to none and to watch the waiters concentrate and focus on whom ordered what drinks upon delivery is exceptional. Ours meals are always delicious and well presented as we want to be provided with a meal we cannot cook at home. The only change l have noticed is the boullabaise has definitely dropped in soup level with only a quarter of the Main bowl filled, a little bit disappointing as the price is still the same however it wont stop us from frequenting Omeros.

Coming from Sydney with so many seafood restaurants available we were very surprised with the quality and cost of the seafood at Omeros Brothers. We were so impressed we went back the following night. Over the two nights we had Harvey bay scallops (entrée), garlic prawns (entrée) seafood chowder, surf and turf, seafood platter and salted caramel chocolate brownie. The Harvey bay scallops were battered and deep fried, the batter quite light and the scallops fat and juicy. The seafood chowder was a delight with a beautiful broth and good assortment of seafood pieces. It would have been extra good if it came with some fresh bread to go with it. The surf and turf had 2 large BBQ prawns and half a Morton bay bug. The steak was generous in size and cook perfectly. A mustard sauce and mash potato accompanied the dish. The steak was very tender and full of flavour. The seafood platter for a single person was the outstanding dish. "Oysters natural, mornay, kilpatrick, fresh & BBQ prawns, calamari, baby octopus, smoked salmon, moreton bay bugs, mussels, grilled barramundi, scallops, served on rice and fresh fruit." Basically it was like a sampler of all their dishes. There wasn't any cheap fillers that you often find in other seafood platters. All the seafood was cooked well with only the calamari and scallops deep fried. No need for entrée or dessert with this dish. It appears that a bowl of chips accompanies most mains however even the chips were cooked well with a crisp shell. The staff were business like and a little distant until you broke the ice with them. The restaurant itself was nicely decorated albeit with a somewhat cold feel to it. Both nights (Monday and Tuesday) it was quite busy and we're glad we booked. This probably sounds like a paid advertisement but it really is that good.

In summary, the service we experienced at this restaurant was incredibly disappointing, making it a risky choice. We had made a reservation a week in advance, noting it as a 'special occasion: date night.' When we called to let them know we'd be running 10 minutes late, they were fine with it. Upon arrival, we found a queue ahead of us, and our excitement quickly turned to disappointment. We waited for our turn, but the receptionist barely acknowledged us, seemingly engrossed in her tablet. This was our first red flag. A tall, bald, and seemingly unapproachable waiter escorted us to a corner table. When we inquired about the possibility of a table with a water view, we were told they were all taken. That seemed reasonable. However, when we asked again later if we could move should such a table become available, we were informed that it was against the restaurant's policy. This was unexpected and unusual in our experience. We discussed this with the waiter, who was clearly emotional about it. This was another red flag. I attempted to diffuse the situation, but the waiter responded with a snide comment, and it was clear he was upset. A second waiter, a pregnant white lady, approached our table to pour water but ignored our previous concerns. This was yet another red flag. We waited for a response, hoping for an explanation, but she returned only to try to sell us drinks. It seemed the entire staff at Omeros had forgotten their roles in the hospitality industry. At this point, it's difficult to understand how they could operate with such staff. Frustrated and feeling unwelcome, we informed them that we couldn't find anything to eat, and with another snide remark from the bald waiter, we decided to leave. Whether we somehow upset the staff, or it was simply a bad night for them, or there was a deeper issue, we can't say. We hope others won't have their evenings ruined by the service at Omeros.

This restaurant has won many awards, but nothing since 2007. It may have once been a great restaurant, but not any more. I had the spaghetti bolognese, which was pretty good, but not great. My wife had the grilled lobster which was...appalling. The last time we paid that much for rubber was when we got new tyres for the car! I'm not a seafood lover, but my wife is and she said it was awful. Bland, rubbery, and hugely disappointing. She had seafood linguine the night before at Glass and the lobster in that was much better. She said the flake in the $13 fish and chips we had for lunch was far superior to this $190 disappointment. Omero Bros needs a complete revamp, both in menu and decor. Surely there's a more modern take on steak than steak Diane? The redeeming quality was the staff. The lady who greeted us was lovely, and our waiter was great - very friendly and great service. If you want a great experience in the same location, walk for 10 seconds to Glass which is next door, you'll be much happier.

I thought this was going to be a seafood experience to delight the senses and tastebuds. Unfortunately there was no delight and the tastebuds went into denial. From our greeting we were worried. The waiter was no better, didn’t know his food, water poured up to the top of a glass so picking it up became a water sport. The menu was straight out of the 1970’s when stodgy unappetising food was the go. The calamari was over tenderised, soft, tasteless. Not sure what the sauce was. Served on rice. The prawns were as tough as old boots, served on rice and the sauce indescribable not in a good way. As for crisp salad. I think it had been left dressed from the previous night. We watched people seated then they looked at the menu and walk out. We watched people receive the wrong order. If only we had left before ordering the wine. Life is too short for bad service and food.

7th October - booked this restaurant as a surprise lunch for my mums 90th Birthday. There were 18 of us altogether, right from the moment we walked in and were greeted by Lachlan I knew it was going to be a great afternoon, Scott our waiter was awesome, everything went smoothly including the cake we bought with us, which was just a Woolies cake was cut and plated by the chef exquisitely, the food was 5 star all round, and we couldn't have been better looked after, we arrived at 12.20pm and left at 4.30pm, I would highly recommend this restaurant for all you celebrations. We will be back for an evening meal with friends and possibly booking our business Christmas party. Well done all and thank you for making mums special birthday so memorable.

The waiter service was five star but the food was a disappointment. I ordered a seafood platter for two and I suspect some of the seafood served up was cooked earlier, as it was edible but really dry and had used its useby serving time. Perhaps the chef hadn't arrived as we ate Early at 17:15. I also made the booking as a special occasion being my wife's birthday and would have thought they may have atleast said happy birthday to my wife when we were seated. A small detail but important if you want returning customers. In summary the calamari. fish and scalloped were very good, but the octopus was dry and chewy. The mussels were also overcooked and the Morton bay bugs were very dry. At $95 per head I would have expected a higher quality, you need to match your food , to the table service provided. I am not a whinger and only post reviews when the food is either great and/or not so great.
