I was disappointed with my meal, a gold band snapper dish, which had very few accompaniments and the fish was overcooked, tough and dry. It was an expensive night. Not a great experience and we’ll not be going back,
Food - phenomenal, some of the best ever. Service - very friendly and attentive. For the price, a quiet dinner was highly expected. We had to yell to talk. The noise was like driving a chisel in your temple. One ‘long lunch’ table made the...atmosphere of the local public bar but paying $50 plus for a steak. Great steak though. Pity.More
i came into shuck bar for a light drink with my wife, but i found myself sitting down at the bar 3 drinks in ordering a main meal from the menu. the steak was incredible, perfectly cooked with a delouse sauces. my wife had a...bugs paster she couldn't be happier. the bar man count of been more polite and was such a kind hearted gentleman, he was explaining to my that its a family dinner and was just trying to help out his father. He made exceptional expresso martinis as well as a killer margarita. i would highly recommend to come to the bar to be served with the most impressive service and. to find yourself leaving happier then you came in(honestly give this young man a raise). Overall i couldn't be more happier with my experience at shuck and ill definitely spread the word of what a fantastic place this was and try help this young man out with his family.More
The fish & chips was very disappointing, soggy batter, watery (probably frozen) not fresh fish. The Gold band swordfish dried up, not fresh, way below average for Shucks.
Have eaten at Shucks many times but will not return.
My husband & I decided to try "Shuck" for our wedding anniversary dinner last night. We had read reviews & were a bit concerned but thought lets give it a go anyway.
We started of with an entrée of crumbed calamari & the house bread...with a side of mouse & truffle butter, this was delicious. We then shared the signature dish "crab lasagna" & king prawn pasta. Both these dishes were outstanding & of course so delicious. The crab lasagna was also accompanied by a delicious broth. We live locally & would highly recommend this restaurant & can't wait to go back again.More
Made a booking midweek and arrived a few minutes early. We had to wait over 5 minutes just to be seated. Seems there was only 2 waitrons on duty for the whole restaurant.
It took a while to get our drinks ordered and delivered. We...eventually ordered our mains and 40 minutes later we were desperate.
The steak was tasty and perfectly done, but not worth $55 for 200 grams without any sides.
My meal was fish and chips for $39. Yes you read correctly, $39. The fish was small and overcooked and absolutely not worth $10.
All I all very disappointed and will not recommend a restaurant that boasts fine dining and exceptional food. Pretentious rip off.More
We have been dining at Shuck for many years and enjoyed the experience. The signature crab lasagna has always been a standout however on this occasion it was stodgy and extremely dense. The overall service was good and the oysters for entree very nice.
An excellent restaurant specialising in seafood but other options are in their offering. The service is friendly and obliging; the large and pleasant outdoor dining verandah overlooks the street and makes for a relaxed easy lunch or dinner. Recommended.
When we arrived we were off to a good start, the lady who served us was lovely and the entrees were pleasant. As the evening got busier the lady who was serving us got pulled away to the larger groups and nobody came to check...on us at all. I ordered fish and chips and for $40 was expecting something special similar to the fish house or omeros brothers, unfortunately my main was no better than the local fish and chip shop, it was greasy and boring and I left most of it. To add insult to injury nobody came over and the only opportunity we had to say anything was when we paid where the waitress agreed $40 for fish and chips was excessive. Have been looking forward to going to this restaurant and it was a complete let down worst meal we’ve had in years. Would not waste your money going here.More
Very impressed with our dining experience few weeks ago , i took my son for dinner here as we both love seafood and both our meals were so yummy. We had great service from our waiter and a nice relaxing dinning experience . We will...defiantly be back as the quality is amazing and i am happy to pay a little more than i would usually because the food is amazing.More
