Me and my partner visited here after noticing it last week when we were both strongly dissatisfied with the food and service at omeara brothers next door.
Wow, food was delicious, reasonably priced and felt very welcomed by all the fabulous hard working staff. We also sat outside and it was lovely, no wind as they had screens to block this and the little lights and fires made it look warm.
Thoroughly enjoyed it here, highly recommend the lamb for main! Can’t wait to return with family in March.

I celebrated my 40th birthday with a group of 25 at Glass. It was a fabulous evening. Maria the events manager was wonderful in the lead up including assisting with table decorations and enabling me to tailor the drinks menu. Communication was excellent. We enjoyed drinks on the deck with the gorgeous view across the harbour, followed by the $85 three course set menu inside along the glass windows. Service by Nathan was fantastic, as was the food. They also catered very well to children who ordered off the kids menu. Everyone who attended was extremely complimentary of the venue, food and service. I would highly recommend for your next special occasion (small or large).

The food here was amazing. Fine dining with a lovely view. The wait staff were attentive and new their menu and wine list which allowed us to leave our wine picking to them. Definitely would come back again

Unfortunately this was a less than stellar service performance from this restaurant when we visited to celebrate a very special occasion. The first issue was the lengthy wait for someone to acknowledge we had arrived and show us to our table. When the maitre de finally approached, he asked us what he could do for us. It was fairly obvious we thought. The service didn't improve over the night. A dozen oysters were served with one clearly much smaller in size than the others and at a price of $4.60 each for a natural oyster, should not have been served at all. Next, my partner was still obviously eating his entree when the wait staff asked if he had finished and tried to snatch his plate away. When he said no, it became obvious the reason for the rush. Our mains were being delivered by another wait person at the same time. Being so rushed and not even finishing our entrees first was not good customer service. Meanwhile our main meal of steaks were delivered when another wait person realised that we had not been given steak knives. Wrong cutlery was whisked away while the correct cutlery was delivered. We noticed someone on the next table was less than happy with the cocktail they had been served. People on another table advised their wait staff how unhappy they were that their underage child had been asked to show ID before being served alcohol. After our mains, a waiter reached across me to get my partner's plate when it would have been much easier to take it from the side. My partner and I were in the middle of a conversation when a waitress leaned between us to put the bill on our table without even apologising for the interruption. The usual practice at a restaurant is to ask if we had everything we needed and/or to ask us if we would like the bill. Overall the night was far too rushed and for an establishment such as this, the service seemed almost amateurish. We went to pay and the waitress, without even looking at our faces, asked if we would be leaving a tip. When my partner started to say no as we weren't happy with the service, she kept looking down and passed us onto her colleague to finalise the transaction. All round it was far from a special occasion - expensive yes, but not at all special.

I sent an email with my feedback a week ago, but did not receive a response, so in response to your email about leaving a trip advisor review on my experience, here goes:
7pm NYE seating.
The starters on the menu online and the menu presented to us stated that there would be an assortment of breads, pate, olives and dips. There were no dips presented to us, merely olive oil.
For the entree, all our table ordered the beef cheek ravioli, the ravioli was extremely undercooked, in particular around the edges. This seemed to also be the case speaking to other patrons around us.
We gave the feedback to our waitress; she didn’t seem to care to pass this on to the kitchen staff.
The starters, entrees and mains came out extremity quickly, it appeared that you wanted us out of the restaurant quickly. I had to ask to pause the dessert for a while, otherwise we would have finished all our courses by 830pm, on a New Years Eve seating.
Ironically, the drinks on the other hand, were not so quick in coming out. We had ordered some cocktails and wine which took 40 mins to arrive. The waitress apologized for the wait and advised that the post mix machine had broken. Not sure how that relates to bottled wine and espresso martinis.
Additionally, after our dessert, we ordered 2 bottles of wine, we waited 50 minutes for these. By this point, we were so frustrated by the wait and with the added frustration of the above issues, we asked the waiter if we could cancel this. The waiter seemed frustrated with our request and not apologetic.
Finally, we would like to note that the entertainment was the highlight of our evening.
The poor service and food quality left us bringing in the new year at the Sheraton Mirage, were the drinks were coming out at an appropriate pace.
Perhaps glass is better for ala carte type dining, than events - wouldnt attend an event there again

My wife and I went to Glass for a celebratory meal. The maitre d’ took his time to welcome us as he sorted through a small bunch of receipts. He insisted we sanitise our hands and seemed impatient as we did. His level of enthusiasm was underwhelming. We started with some drinks. My Long Island iced tea was good but my wife’s gin martini was served in a very small glass... the glass was so small that the tooth pick with the olives was jutting out of the glass.
For entrée my wife had oysters Kilpatrick. They were not very tasty as the sauce was like ketchup rather than Worcestershire or BBQ sauce. The star of my sashimi plate was the cucumber. The tiny portions of sashimi were difficult to taste because there was so little fish on the plate. For mains I had mussels in their shell... 3 of the shells had no scallops. The broth was nice. My wife had seafood linguine which had a good variety of seafood which somehow was cooked to be very bland. She liked the half Morton Bay bug. I’m glad I didn’t spend $220 on their seafood platter judging by the small portions and flavourless presentation. My wife made the comment that the seafood was good quality and fresh... just very bland.
I’m reluctant to give a bad review but I would avoid this restaurant.
Omeros Brothers is right next door and their food is much more tasty and better value in my opinion. Salmon sashimi at Sushi Train is tastier and you get 10 times as much for half the price.
Even George’s Paragon at Sanctuary Cove is better value for money.
5 out of 10. Look somewhere else for dinner.5

My lunch there yesterday started badly from the monent we walked in and continued to get worse as the day progressed. What my girlfriend who is a local wanted to show me this place and have a special lunch, They ruined it for her.
From the unattended reception area where we waited 5 minutes before anyone turned up for our 3.30 pm reservation.
Eventually we had a tall Blonde searly lady arrive and no apology, no smile and hated her job clearly. When we asked for a window table where there were several empty ones she said no. It wasnt until I asked another staff memmber if we could be seated at a window table that we received our request. Room was 75% empty.
Still had to wait 10 minutes before we were asked if we wanted a drink. We were also told they had only one bar person working and could not have any of our questions regarding the wine list.
Fast forward to the food. When we received it it was luke warm. At ths point I asked for the food to go back and redo it.
Second time around the food was fine.
In short they should close this place down and stop impersonating a high end establishment. There was no leadership or organisation on the floor and even less experience in the handful of staff that were there. NEVER GO THERE!! Save your money for Mcdonalds. You get the same level of experience and service there.

Excellent menu with a huge range and everything we ordered was fabulous. It was really busy and I was disappointed with our table. Couples seem to get preference for the tables next to the window and we were located where staff were whizzing around getting food and drinks. It felt a bit hectic. Loved the dim lighting and the lights at night are gorgeous.

Because I had a friend driving down from Brisbane for dinner with me I took the time to book in advance online and also called Glass at the beginning of the week to make sure my booking was correct. I booked a table inside for 7pm Saturday. When I called to confirm my online booking, I was told a table along the window would be allocated. I didn't mind where the table was just as long as it was inside as the weather was cool in the evenings which was why I telephoned just to make sure. Arrived at Glass at 7.10pm and girl on the desk finds our booking but looks puzzled and calls over maitre d. She seems to point out that there's a problem and seems to indicate that someone else is seated at our table. Maitre d comes over and just says that our table wasn't ready yet and that the people would be finishing soon. Waited in the bar and by 7.30pm we still hadn't been seated. Then told there was no table available inside and we had to sit outside in the wind, on what was a cool night, otherwise no table. Seriously?! What happened to the table we were waiting for in the bar for the last half hour!!?? I explained that my booking was for an inside table which his colleague had found on the system. Maitre d responds with 'we don't allocate tables inside so whoever told you you could sit inside told you the wrong thing'. Is he serious because 30mins ago he told us our inside table was nearly ready!!! And his colleague seemed to have found it also. Plus the online booking form asks patrons to specify inside our outside and I specified inside and also telephoned to confirm. The guy couldn't care less and this was reflected in his attitude. He is probably the worst maitre d on the Gold Coast. Should have gone to Omeros or Little Truffle where service is also excellent. Really regret giving Glass a go. Couldn't enjoy our meals as it was windy and we were cold because we didn't bring jackets as we expected to be indoors, so we didn't order as much as we planned. So much for our planned big dining night out.

We decided to give Glass one more try after previous visits left us underwhelmed by the service , but we thought the food was worth it.
After last night’s experience we will not be returning
The food has slipped with very oily , too much garlic seafood fettuccine. A steak which was requested medium rare came out well done.
We should have known the service hadn’t improved when on arrival we were greeted but then dropped and left hanging when the phone rang.
At the end of the night after being asked if we’d like to order dessert , we declined. Five minutes later we were asked to leave by a horrible man as our table was required by another booking
What if we’d said ‘Yes’ to dessert ?
We left having paid a bill of almost $500 vowing never to return
The coast has many other great restaurants to choose from but not this one

This has become my favourite restaurant in the Gold Coast. I’ve dined here in small groups or alone, I’ve had a small meal and a full 3 course meal! The restaurant and its staff never disappoint. The service is impeccable, and the food is always fresh and cooked to perfection. I highly recommend!

We dined here last November to celebrate my birthday. As long term mature age Glass patrons who celebrate birthdays, anniversary, Valentine’s Day at Glass we were super excited to return after COVID lockdown.
We usually dine outside on the deck, however due to very windy and unpredictable weather that week we dined inside. We were seated close to the bar. It was not an enjoyable Evening. The noise from drinks being prepared at the bar together with dishes being cleared and banging and clanging from the kitchen directly behind made it impossible to have a conversation.
My partner ordered the lamb and felt it was tough and fatty and left most of it. I had oysters and fettuccine which were just ok.
We were extremely underwhelmed and did not enjoy our fine dining experience at all.
I emailed Glass and the Gennari group to provide feedback and have not even received an acknowledgement to this day!
We are not seeking compensation in any way. However we will never return to Glass and will be sure to share our poor Experience with many.

Took my wife and (21 yr old) daughter there last night, as we have been there before, albeit a year ago, and though the food was still good, we werer disappointed with the lack of "dress code". So if you think you're going to a "fine dining" restuarnat (certainly one would get that impression based on the prices!!!), be prepared to mix it up with diners in shorts, T-shirts and deck shoes. Remembering - this is the "dinner crowd". Aside from that, they weren't serving tables outside next to the river and so the nosie was amplified inside, where there must have been at least 15 middle school kids eating there as well - of course it is school holidays and to be expected, but very noisy again.
Consensus from wife and daughter is NOT to go back, event though the food & service is good, there are other more refined places to enjoy.

Hi Terry,
very sorry to hear that your standards of surrounding people in our venue haven't been met. I'm pleased that according to your review you enjoyed the food and the service which is our main goal and the only thing that we can control as opposed to what our customers wear or how they look or what age they are. We do not claim ourselves as a fine dining restaurant but a formal modern Australian and are welcoming everyone.
Fine Dining restaurants are by far more pricey with small portions whereas our portion sizes are very generous with average prices of $20-$50. We are located in a resort style surrounding at the marina where most people are holidaying or boating and therefore sometimes dressed more casual than usual which does not really affect or bother us in any way and so far didn't ever seem to have bothered our clientele.
Many of the luxurious super yacht owners are our regulars and most of the time they come in their shorts and t shirts of their boats.
Sorry to hear that the dress code of our customers seems to be the only reason you won't be back and had the need to leave a bad review even though you enjoyed food, views and service. We hope that your high standards of a dress code and other people will be met in other more refined places.
Kind regards,
Glass Management

My wife and I had lunch at Glass on Saturday 15/02/2020. We had a seafood lunch of oysters (natural), salmon and satay prawns.
When we entered the front door we noticed the many smiles from the staff, they were very friendly and chatty making for a warm setting, the food was delicious. Yes I would recommend this restaurant it was a first time there for us, though it won’t be the last .
Thanks for a fantastic lunch and atmosphere “Glass”

We had a special meal out here last night and it was a Friday night and I was very pleased to see people venturing out again and supporting local restaurants. The service was good, could have been better to start but it warmed up and our server was amazing and well worth a tip. We had a cheese platter to start and red and white wine, all were very tasty and the wine was especially good. The second course we got was the mushroom linguine and the steak with fries and omg they were to die for. I took half of my pasta home to have today and I was even more blown away (I had to leave room for dessert). Then we ordered the dessert platter because we couldn't decide. We loved them all but the bread and butter pudding (which was the special of the day) but all the normal desserts were amazing.
Overall service, atmosphere, and food were great and so glad we came.
