Standard churn and burn tourist restaurant. Over priced and looking to get you out as soon as possible. Pizza was okay and pasta was average. For our child we asked for just plain pasta with no butter or oil and it was floating in garlic butter. My daughter wouldn’t eat it so I ordered a bowl of chips but they still charged us for the pasta. Wouldn’t return.

We ate here on new years eve and while the food was good the service was terrible. One member of our group had to wait until the rest had almost finished their meal before getting their food A round of drinks was ordered and we had to ask the staff at lease 3 times when we were likely to get them.No recompense was offered only weak excuses. Don't go there if you have been used to good service or you will be disappointed as we were.

We went to Marios for a family dinner while on holidays. We did not have a booking but only waited about 5mins to be seated in what was a very busy restaurant. Whilst the food prices are not cheap the meal sizes and food quality was very good. My son ordered the bbq octopus which was delicious and huge. We had veal and pasta dishes and would return. This is not our first time here. The only downfall is it is incredibly noisy.

Our meals were ok. We had a steak, carbonara and supremo pizza. These were standard prices, and taste matched price. In addition to our meals, we were offered drinks. We had two scotch and dry each. We weren't offered a menu or warned about how expensive they were. The ale was from a bottle and tasted poor with the scotch - in a small cup with a lot of ice. We were charged separately for the alcohol and soft drink components. Upon looking at the receipt, we discovered we were charged $4.50 for the soft drink alone and a further $9.50 for one nip of alcohol. We were also offered what we thought was a dessert menu but were brought out a tiramisu each. This was also fairly expensive for what it was. After reviewing the receipt we went in to question the charges and were told that we couldn't be refunded because the till was closed. I wouldn't recommend dining here, but if you do, make sure you clarify how much you are paying and what you are actually getting. We were charged $208 total for three people and $82 alone for drinks. Dessert is not included on the receipt, and I don't know why.

What an absolute disgrace this place is. Ordered takeaway this evening garlic prawns with side salad and dipping bread only to receive prawns alone. After contacting the restaurant I was asked to return for a 25.00 refund, or complementary dessert. On our return we were given a 10.00 refund only and absolute abuse from the manager Andrew. I would not waste your money. It cost me 60.00 for 14 prawns.

We appreciate more then anything feedback. On the menu the entree prawns doesn't come with a salad or bread thats why you were refunded the amount for the missing item. There was a misunderstanding with the staff memeber you spoke to on the phone. We would appreciate the oppertunity to resolve this. Please feel free to send us a private message.

We visited on a Sunday for lunch, the menu was large, so it took a while to read. The waiter was polite and sat us inside at our request but we decided to move outside due to noise. Once we ordered the meal came quickly and was delicious. We bought gelato afterwards and walked across the road to the beach to enjoy the views.

I bought good old Spag Bol. Very enjoyable but for the price serving was small. Lets face it pasta does not cost much. Come on Marios serve a little more. Gelati was nice. If buying for two adults and one small child I recommend the 3 scoop serve as it is ample and costs $9.50

We have eaten at Mario’s on almost every visit to the Gold Coast including last night. We started going there when it was a smaller restaurant and it was so much better then. Now it’s just unpleasant. It’s too big, too noisy, too chaotic. Tables are too small for two adults and two kids. Our four meals didn’t even fit on the table and our water bottle and wine had to be placed on the floor to make some room. On our last visit, I ordered gnocchi which were not the pillowy clouds I expected from an Italian restaurant at that price, but rather chewy, gluggy balls of dough that were just not very nice. Last night, a main lemon pepper calamari also left a sour taste. At $34 it was so overpriced and very underwhelming for processed calamari rings. Most of it was left on the plate. Kids lasagna was much to be desired. Kids fish and chips was average at best. The only positive is the pizza which seems to be the only thing they get right but we wouldn’t dine there again and might only consider getting a pizza in a box to take away but honestly would try others first.

I wouldn’t normally write a bad review, but service was appalling. We were seated then ignored, although customers around us were served, given table water on seating, and followed up shortly after with taking their orders. After 20min, I spoke to, presumably the owner, who did get someone to us, no apology however. We were asked if we were ready to order, we had been ages ago!! Then left. Our drinks arrived and in fairness, the meal didn’t take too long to arrive, however, it was placed on the table and no offer of more water, drinks or accompaniment, just a ‘there you are’. I did see the ‘owner’ talk to the waiters who appeared to be serving our area (I’ve no idea because they didn’t come near us), there was plenty of pointing in our direction and looking at us, but this did nothing to have anyone come near us. Eventually, after we had decided to finish our meal - no choice as we were offered nothing further, we had to ask for the bill. It was brought to us with a ‘everythings fine yeh?’ No, it is not!! But what’s the point in stating that further? Care factor was zero! No apology was given. At the very least I would expected that common courtesy, if not our drinks complimentary. Will I go back? Absolutely not, I’m disgusted.

After almost 10 years of patronage at this very popular establishment, I felt compelled to choose Mario’s as my birthday lunch “go to”! After all, I had never once had a bad meal here and the service was faultless. On Sunday 1st November 2020, we arrived to a busy (but not unusual) lunch and were ushered to a pre-booked table. We waited 15 minutes to order drinks, and then waited almost 25 minutes for them to arrive. I noticed my white wine poured and sitting on the counter for at least 15 minutes while our waitress stood at the bar chatting and ignoring our drinks. Meanwhile, there was a constant stream of patrons arriving and settling in for lunch. I observed at least 4 other tables receive their order before us. My husband (fed up waiting for his much anticipated beer) finally went to the bar to ask about our drinks. He was told that they were understaffed. The drinks finally arrived, and I politely asked for a fresh glass of cold wine. Lunch was worse. We were finally served almost 50 minutes after arriving (our sitting was for 90 minutes) and my veal gamberi was cold, the beans still had the stalks attached, and the mashed potato was lumpy. The avocado was not fresh either. A thoroughly awful experience! The worst $130 spent.

My wife and I had had dinner here a year ago and were very impressed. We came back this year for lunch with a friend on a very wet day. It was the perfect spot on a rainy afternoon. The service was good and there was a great range of options on the menu. The waiter was very helpful with suggestions both for food and the wine. The atmosphere was leisurely with no pressure to decide what we wanted. I had a veal dish which was superb. My dining companions had pasta dishes for which they had to ask fora bag to take some home, given the size of the meal. All in all, a great afternoon

It’s my third time visit for lunch ☺️ I had different pasta dishes last time. I had Fettuccine carbonara $28.5 today 🍝 It was served quite quick which is good 👍🏻 But pasta was over cooked for me😥 Sauce was nice😋 It’s just I concerned about how to cut bacon and how to cook it. They were sticking together 😅 It looked like home cooking dish….. So I thank it’s a little bit over price…. Their service was always nice and friendly, I like it 🥰 I’d like to try pizza 🍕 next time.

Mario's Italian Restaurant was the best Italian we have experienced. The menu was large and very varied, definitely something for everyone. We shared a Lasagna for entree, and then Spaghetti Gambaro for main, definitely more than we could eat. It was pleasing to see such a good range of entrees, and also a lot of meals which came in two serving sizes. The food was ecellent, and our waitress Zac was fantastic. In spite of the small crowd due to virus concerns a lovely experience. We took our own wine (lunch only) and $10 corkage was acceptable. Would definitely go there again next time in the area.

We found some of the dishes were good and others very ordinary. Warning the portions are huge so order small or be very hungry. Service was friendly but mid meal drinks were forgotten and an effort to chase up. Overall we were a bit under whelmed.

We arrived in Broadbeach today and felt like some Italian for dinner. A quick google search suggested we give Mario’s a try and I am so glad we did! The seafood in our pasta dishes were fresh and of high quality. They had a great children’s menu which included a main, drink and ice cream for about $13. The pizza was delicious too but the best part would have to be the friendly service and professional staff. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area or even if you are not!
