Ate there tonight, only about 8 other customers. Ordered a Martini, the Seafood grill and a glass of chardonnay. Total cost $50. The Martini was OK, however I ate in order 2 ordinary prawns, half a bug, then calamari in a strange sauce & the grilled fish, at $27. Apart from the fish everything else was warm at the best, certainly not service temperature! How could they all have been cooked at the same time? Given the number of customers it's an insult, really! The waiter was helpful but the cashier's attitude was WFT. I don't care! In the times of Covid 19 when customers are hard to come by you should care mate!! Shame on you.

Shouted my hungry teen for Thursday lunch and wasn’t disappointed. Fast service, friendly staff and delicious food too. We both had the steak. Was expecting it to be on the tougher side due to it being a $10 lunch but was tender. Best chips we had tasted in ages!
Lunch menu specials is great value. Closed Tuesdays for lunch.

We were looking for Italian and seafood and this place fit the bill. Staff were friendly and the food was excellent. For seafood, the prices were more reasonable than others we saw. Prawns were fresh and the bugs were tasty. Great spot for dinner.

Sadly I do not much of a positive review considering my time in broadbeach has been wonderful.
I took my son & best friend out for dinner last night & to say we were disappointed was an understatement.
The waitress I understood was new but she didn't know if they had Moreton Bay bugs or the price.
I ordered the eye fillet at $28 my son had the Moreton Bay bugs at a high rate of $65 h my friend had the fish and chips.
I out of 3 meals were satisfactory & that being the bugs (thankfully but the most expensive meal) I wasn't aware of price till I paid..it doesn't state price on menu so they can charge between $40-$70..
The meals took forever and the restaurant was not busy at 7.30pm..we waited approximately 45 mins & i was close to saying were leaving and meals arrived.
Straight away my friend says the fish is "frozen" fish not fresh..
My eye fillet looked amazing until I tried cutting it...with a blunt steak knife!
I asked for medium rare and it was closer to "rare" it was extremely chewy & hard to digest.
I cook alot of steak & this was not good quality steak, nor was it cooked correctly.
I first asked for a sharper knife but it was still unsatisfactory so I asked if it could be cooked abit more..it came back "medium" & I just found it again tough and chewy..I think because I was hungry I struggled to eat it..I ended up leaving at least 3/4 of it with utter disappointment.
For $28 you want quality & I let the waitress know.
Upon paying they were aware of the steak being unsatisfactory but there was no apology, no discount offered but a $124 dinner bill!
I have been to several places upon my 5 day stay & id have to say this place was at the bottom of my list unfortunately. If I had been given an apology, a discount on my meal or just something, I would not have written a review.
But the fact that there was no offer, meals were late & only one being ok was deserving of a review.
Sorry but I won't be eating there again or recommending your restaurant to anyone in Melbourne.

If Fawlty Towers had a restaurant this would surely be it!
We went as a family of 4 for breakfast and I have to say the food is actually not bad but the service was disgusting at best! My daughter wasn’t feeling the best so just wanted toast so i asked could we get toast for her (the rest of us ordered mains) to which I was told they don’t do just toast but you could order a side of toast with a meal. I said could I have a side order of toast to which the snotty young girl snorted no you can’t because you will just give it to her. I nearly fell off my chair!
To top it off hearing the guy behind the counter belching at the top of his lungs really added to the ambience.
Basil would have been proud of your efforts guys! Well done!

This is not a place I would ever come to again. An hour wait for the most unrated food. My meal came out and it was terrible - they forgot half of what was on the menu. The bugs were so dry they were inedible. The manager possibly owner behind the bar was so rude and not helpful at all. They young waiter was very good and tried his best - I felt very sorry for him. The kitchen leaves a lot to be desired.

First strike against this restaurant was the very poor quality wine list. Perhaps they were trying to appeal to budget travellers but $38 for a bottle of wine you could pick up for $8 in a bottle shop is unreasonable. Secondly, hubby and I both ordered different steaks, his carpetbag with chips mine filet mignon with veg. Server brought them out and said we should swap steaks as they were mixed up. We did but turned out they were plated correctly originally. If I were allergic to seafood I could have been very ill. Lastly, the service could not have been worse. I requested a wine list before my meal arrived, it was brought after i had started and he returned to get my order when i was almost finished. To top it off the steaks were over cooked and tough.

We weren’t asked if we wanted to order drinks, it was straight into ordering food. We ordered a couple of entrees (garlic bread & some beer battered prawns) and they gave us the bread but the prawns took another 20mins to arrive after the bread. The prawns were tasteless, they had the same taste as prawns that are frozen NO FLAVOUR! Our mains took 2 HOURS to arrive and both the mixed grill and the eastern grill arrived to the table burnt, dry and inedible! The surf and turf (we ordered 2) were tough, chewy and was served with a bowl of boiled frozen peas, beans and carrot. Once again the prawns are clearly cooked from frozen because they had absolutely no flavour at all. If I could give this place a 0 I would. Never going back again and we don’t recommend this place to anyone.

Once stuff up after the other. The place was about 70% full with customers. Our party arrived and ordered within 10 mins. While people at other tables came and left, we still did not have our meals after 90 mins. Their only excuse was that they were busy. If that were true, why did the serve several other tables between giving two of us our meals and the final one his meal? We simply could not eat together. The first of us to start and we are in three stages, which was very disappointing given it was a family meal. After finishing our meals they brought out two side dishes of vegetables for those who ordered them. What a joke.
I understand mistakes happen, but management took no responsibility and offered no discount or complementary meals. My other beef is that my pasta dish was advertised as “with bugs” (plural). I didn’t even get one Moreton Bay bug. I got half. Why wasn’t it described in the menu as halving a half bug. It was an very expensive pasta dish for one-half bug and some prawns.

I order fresh oysters as a starter, but they turned out to be washed in fresh water. Tasteless. Then, the main seafood mix arrived. The Moreton bay bug stinks. I told the waiter but he was rude and unapologetic, kinda accusing me for making things up.

We have been regulars of this restaurant every time we are on the Gold Coast and, despite a change in ownership, it is still the same value.
We had a Fettuccine Seafood ($26), whole Sole ($25) and Salmon with avocado ($24).
All dishes were substantial and tasty. The whole sole was particularly good.

Wow! Talk about a great meal and awesome service!! It may not have the best view when adjoined to a mall, or look like a 5 star restaurant, but the food - OMG - it was fantastic!! Best creamy garlic sauce ever over a tender beef fillet was complimented by perfectly cooked veges for our Surf’n’Turf. Family also loved their pasta dish and fish (and the platters we saw on nearby tables looked awesome). That combined with friendly, attentive service (they even came across the mall with umbrellas for us as it was raining and we were going to get wet!) - totally recommend, and we will definitely return!!

A little gem of a restaurant, looks unassuming from the pedestrian walkway but really over delivers on food. We had a thoroughly beautiful breakfast, good quality ingredients cooked and served with care and attention.
The coffee alone is the best served in Broadbeach in my opinion. I hesitate to share these details as I’d like to keep the place just as it is 😊 but it would be unfair not to share. Never eating breakfast anywhere else 😎

My husband and I had dinner at this lovely restaurant, the host was super accommodating and the food was yummy. My husband ordered the surf and turf and I had the Balmain bug in a white wine sauce. Definitely recommend and will return. Thank you for a lovely evening :0)

I went to go here for a date with my girlfriend. We were standing at the entrance waiting to be seated at 1:56pm only for the waiter to approach us after standing there 2 mins prior waiting to be seated in a half empty restaurant, and the waiter said they have just taken their last order As it’s 2:00. I showed him my iPhone where it said 1:58. He just dismissed us and turn us away. Obviously your business doesn’t want to make money. Poor service. Very disappointed
