No booking on a Saturday night when place in full flight but a table was found for us. The meals were sensational, wine perfect and staff were flat out but always attended table and found time to make us smile and feel part of the venue. We'll be back, thank you.

Dined here with a group of friends in October on a busy Friday night (bookings a must, there was a long queue of people waiting in line who hadn't booked). At all times the service was prompt and friendly. Meals served quickly. It's a very busy restaurant with lots going on and plenty of noise, if you're chasing a relaxing ambient atmosphere this place is not for you (not a bad thing, just saying). We all enjoyed our meals and drinks and were satisfied with our visit.

Five star food.
The saltimbocca was spot on with nicely done and tasty veggies
The flavour in the spaghetti al gamberi was beautiful too. I thought the big slices of zucchini were disconnected but certainly added to the taste.
Service was slow and disinterested for a not particularly busy lunch service and it lost them a second round of drinks – ordered but never delivered.
I thought it was an expensive venue, even by Broadbeach standards.

Zero stars
I recently had dinner at Gemelli Broadbeach. I was there with a friend for a special night.
We arrived on time, as we had booked. We waited 5 minutes to be seated, no problem, happy to wait.
We saw that there were donuts on the menu, so we decided to forego an entree so that we could have dessert. We ordered a bottle of wine, and 2 mains.
The food was fine, not amazing, but we were having a really nice time.
However, before I had even put the last piece of pizza in my mouth, a server took the plate. Within a minute, we had the bill and told to leave the table. I said to the server that we want to order dessert, she said, no your time is up. I looked at my phone, we had been there 1 hour and 10 minutes. When I showed her that, she asked another staff member who looked at his watch and said loudly, 'they've had an hour, that's enough'.
Another server came to take our wine glasses- we hadn't finished the wine and I quietly said we were unhappy about being told to leave. The original server said, 'just ignore her' and shook her head.
When we got to the cashier, the manager made us wait 5 minutes to pay our bill and then just shrugged when we told her we were unhappy with our treatment.
I guess Gemelli is a hospitably business that can afford to make its customers feel unwelcome. All you have going for you is the location.
My friend and I are business owners. We brought our clients there in the past, we never will again.
We are so lucky to have so many beautiful restaurants on the Gold Coast, that we will never go Gemelli again, and we will tell everyone we know about how bad the service is.

If you are travelling for business on your own or a sigle traveller this place is not accommodating at all. Got in on a late flight and I thought I would go to my favourite italian restaurant on broadbeach for a meal but the experience was very disapointing to say the least. There were free tables available but because I was solo they put me up on the bar stools to eat which was not comfortable at all. When I questioned it they said they were at maximum capacity and had another dinner session at 8:15pm. Two tables for 2 were vacant the entire time I was there while having dinner. It was disgraceful the way I was treated because I was a single person. Discriminated against for dinning on my own.

Dropped in without a booking on a Friday night, just the wife and myself, totally unplanned. They were full but offered us seating at the bar seating. Very please. Quick ordering service, Fast delivery and food brilliant, the best pizza we have ever had. Flavours plus with the base so fluffy and light that we did not have the typical after pizza heavy stomach.
Made plans to bring our group of 10 (5 couples) here for our next outing but just 6 days on we could not wait for another of those brilliant pizzas.
We rocked up at 5pm on the Thursday to beat the crowd. Quick to get seating again... winner. Seated in front of the bar, how good is this I thought, wait traffic will be all over us again.
DISAPPOINTED is an understatement. Despite being seated quickly, a strange delay and finally offered table water. 12 minutes in and no sign of table service for a pre dinner drink order. We had to grab someone as they wandered past. In general the wait staff seemed to be in sleepy mode , who cares mode. Ordered drinks while working through the snide response from simply asking, "do you offer Asahi "?. Had to push the "can we order food now? Another snide response, seemed shocked that the 12 minutes we were left without attention that we had actually had decided on our meals. That now under way, the slow just got slower. Entree' about 15 minutes and pizza around 30 minutes. Food fantastic but an evening destroyed by painstakingly slow service with a mix of what care factor . Felt a little like pulling teeth to get attention. Worth noting that another couple appeared to be drop ins were offered seating on the next table to ours as quickly as we were.
Water out in moments. Then they experienced the same lack of waiter attention we had and their frugal attempt to get service was rewarded by them walking out to the amazement of the matrade directly opposite their table.
Our group of 10, we are all long term locals to the Gold Coast, ranging from 18 years through to 60 years as locals and all business people who understand the importance of customer service.
In closing, grab a fantastic pizza as long as you are happy to run the gauntlet regards level of service offered on the night.

The three stars are mainly for the underwhelming service. I booked months ago. Lined up, got to the front of the queue and the snotty fellow looks at me and says “Yes?”
I say I have a reservation and we are seated by another waitress.
Where’s the hello, the smile, the welcome? It was 6.30pm so if you’ve got a bad attitude that early in the evening, then go home, hospitality is not your calling!
We had zucchini flowers and king prawns for entree and both were really lovely.
For main we had a pizza each and I ordered the mushroom one with truffle oil and taleggio cheese (happy days). Yes it was a bit wet and juicy cause the mushrooms do ooze juice, but I still enjoyed it.
My husband ordered the prosciutto pizza (called the Roma) but he didn’t care for it because he felt the pizza base was too doughy and sloppy. The ingredients he said were very good quality but the pizza wasn’t crisp at all. He didn’t more than two pieces.
The staff didn’t ask how our meal was as they cleared his mostly uneaten pizza away.
To their credit they didn’t charge for his pizza after he offered his feedback (something he rarely does).
We had a bottle of Langmeil Shiraz and it was very good.
Would we return? No, mainly because the staff gave an air of remote superiority and the atmosphere was not conducive to having a fun night which you can often do even if the food disappoints.

Everything was just ok. Overpriced though. The only thing that was good value was ordering a buratta for your pizza for $6.
From the kids menu I ordered the spag bowl that had tasteless meatballs. Underwhelming. For an adult portion I was charged $44.
Lots of staff mostly standing around talking to each other. Noisy and cold with the outdoor areas left open. Also very dark lighting.

So disappointed. Read the reviews and decided to try this restaurant. Great that they were so busy that we couldn’t get a table, were offered takeaway with a 20-25 minute wait. Decided that this would be ok. Ordered our pasta at $38 a serve. Unfortunately there isn’t anywhere to wait for the takeaway, except to stand outside and watch the tables empty out. After 50 minutes waiting, we went to ask where our meals were. They eventually came out, after asking the staff 3 times. In this time, other couples who hadn’t booked were offered tables.
Still looking forward to our meals, we went back to our accommodation. One dish was so over cooked it was mushy. The other, the sauce was tasteless except for the salt, which made it inedible. From our experience, would not recommend to anyone

Four of us, two couples, had a 6pm dinner at Gemelli Broadbeach. We asked the waiter how big the focaccia was because we thought two would do us for starters. "I recommend one per person" came the immediate reply. We ordered three as we are small eaters. When it came, two would have been quite sufficient. We ordered two glasses of wine and four main course: two pizzas, a gnocchi and a prawn pasta. All were "good" but fairly standard for an Italian restaurant. The problem was the service, starting with the curt reply to our foccacia request. When the food arrived the gnocchi and the prawn pasta came well before the foccacia, the wine and the pizzas. The foccacia was clearly ordered as a starter and should have come, perhaps with the wines. That service glitch put a pall over our whole meal. Overall the food was good for a simple Italian meal although the prawns were light-on in the prawn pasta.

We’re locals and used to eat at Roy’s in Sorrento regularly both in the restaurant and takeaways. Recently the food ordered via takeaway has been burnt, dry, virtually inedible, and the order has been incorrect the last three times we have ordered. I also ate in the restaurant with my family a couple of weeks ago and the service was sub-standard, the waiter couldn’t tell us what the fish of the day was, we only received one entree, even though we ordered two, and the cost of the food was eye-watering Sydney prices. I wouldn’t mind paying if the food was of a reasonable standard. I’ve had the Ragu, which was full of broken pieces of bone and cut my gum. I’ve also had the marinara, which was full of broken shell and chipped my tooth. I won’t be eating there again. Don’t bother!

Very Good,
You know you've booked the right restaurant when you arrive and there is a que waiting to get a table at 7.30.
Excellent cocktails, friendly staff & prawns roasted in the pizza oven are just the start. Follow that with a tender basticca scotch fillet & a a draught perroni & the nights complete. Next time I'll try the pasta which looked outstanding.

Location is great. James Street is busy and Buzzy. Service is great and food was amazing BUT... AT 8.45PM they started stacking chairs on top of tables. It felt really rude as some people were still eating and I'm fairly sure you wouldn't get that at a Gordon Ramsay restaurant. I did ask why this was happening and the server agreed that it was rude. Shame because everything else was perfect and would have been a five star rating!
