Fantastic Italian food and great service

Booked a table for the 3 of us for 6pm on a Saturday night and was a bit worried about the negative recent reviews over the time it might take to get our orders. We needn't have worried. We had a lovely waitress who paid us lots of attention, drinks and food were brought out promptly with a friendly smile. I had the Tony's Special Pizza, my brother had the Supreme and my SIL had the veal parmigiana. All of us were super happy with our meals. Personally, my pizza was probably the best I've ever had (and that's saying a lot). Yes, the place was busy, but the staff were doing pretty well keeping up with everything and personally, we were served, ate, drank and out the door an hour later.

Wholesome Italian food

Dined here on a *very* busy Saturday night with friends. The venue was almost full and it was obvious that the staff were working hard to accomodate all diners as best they could in a friendly manner. Our starts and mains were very good, everyone was satisfied with their meal. Pricing was fair. Not a criticism but to be transparent to other potential diners, the wait for our mains was at least 45 minutes. The food was excellent but the wait was a little deflating. We were hoping to order dessert here but didn't want another long wait so we walked a few blocks to get gelato neaby. One of our party was keen to order the chef's special spaghetti meatballs, but was told nobody had made meatballs for the evening and that this meal was unavailable. A bummer and a bit odd given this is a staple menu item and a chef's special. To end on a positive note, good food and staff. If you can be patient waiting for your meal and want tasty italian, this is a top option.

Delicious Italian cuisine

This restaurant was fabulous - the atmosphere was one of customers enjoying themselves and eating delicious food! It was busy but the staff were very professional and efficient and the wait time for the meals was quick. We both enjoyed the baked barramundi and seafood, served with vegetables. Magnifico!!! The flavours were fantastic and portion size generous. A perfect meal for a Birthday celebration. We highly recommend this restaurant and would definitely return for another dining experience!

Average At Best (and that’s a stretch)

My family and I (8 of us) were going to an event at the Casino in Broadbeach and didn’t realise how far you had to book in advance for the restaurants attached inside the casino! So we googled local restaurants with a good reputation… (don’t know how) But Valentinos appeared at the top of the list.. Although we thought we may not be able to get a table.. conveniently and not surprisingly there were tables available. Very old school to say the least, which would have only added to the character of the restaurant, had the meal and service quality been up to standard. We had to basically chase the waitstaff down to get an initial drink order which led us to rush and order our food in case it took the staff another half and hour to acknowledge our table. One of the waitstaff (older man, assuming owner or manager) was talking to a table for over 15 mins and proceeded to insult her about her weight within our earshot.. which is a very sensitive subject for some which we thought was appalling. Our food was SO AVERAGE!! And that is at a stretch to say so, my pesto basically appeared to be a cream sauce with drop of green food colouring! Where was the basil? So bland Very unauthentic Italian food and overly cheesy. Prices were not cheap either. For a bustling area with progressive hospitality establishments surrounding, this was a very disappointing experience And we will not be back Do not believe the hype online on Google search…

Very very poor service

Really disappointed in this restaurant. Arrived and we were serviced quite promptly and our order taken. Great! Then it all went downhill. A table of 15 arrives shortly after and our waitress totally forgot about us for the remainder of our meal. We ordered a focaccia with our mains. Didn't arrive. We ordered a bottle of house sparkling. Didnt arrive. Tried to get our waitresses attention but as a party of 2 I am guessing we weren't spending as much $$ as the other table. Food was lovely. But service was shocking and therefore would not recommend return.

Avoid!!

DO NOT go to this place, tried this place on a thursday night as everywhere else was booked out and was the first available restaurant in Broadbeach. Food was terrible. Pastas seemed like they were from a microwave, tasted terrible when addressing this with staff after they had noticed plates were still full the staff didnt care we didnt enjoy both pasta and pizza. AVOID THIS PLACE at all costs!! Now we know why there were tables available

Staff were pleasant and efficient. Service was a bit too quick imo. Seems they have things in order to get you out as fast as possible to get new customers in. Everything was fine. But nothing stood out. It was just mediocre. Not a good sign when an Italian restaurant uses that powdered Parmesan you get from the pasta aisle at the supermarket rather than actual cheese that needs refrigerating. I wouldn’t eat here again, I’d try a different Italian restaurant.

Great night of food, wine, laughs and shots!

We visited on a Thursday night I think it was as they were fully booked from the Sunday we arrived until then, and I can see why. This place was recommended by one of our group who had eaten there before and said it was fantastic...and it didn't disappoint. The host (I think was Tony...he was the owner) looked after us from the minute we arrived. We all had fantastic food, the wine was great and then we indulged a little in some dessert and shots. We had a great night...and we are coming back later in the year for our golf trip and we will be visiting Valentino's once again.

Expensive food and drink

The reason for the 3 stars is nothing to do with the food or the table service but to do the the girls attitude at the counter when we went to pay. After a nice meal with friends we went to the counter to pay . One of us has cash and one was paying by card but instead of being able to pay cash and then the rest on card we were told that we could not split the bill.I try to explain to the girl that we were not splitting the bill but paying part cash part card … she was so rude that due to her we won’t be visiting again .. The restaurant was busy and very noisy and the food was nice but the girl’s attitude was very unpleasant. The food was great a bit pricey but very tasty. The drinks again on the expensive side

What a meal with great service to boot

It is so rare to have the opportunity to eat out for dinner during this COVID-19 nightmare. We have not visited Broadbeach in months and this was a much anticipated evening. Rather than select and book a restaurant ahead of time, we decided to browse. Valentinos was our choice on this Sunday evening because it was not crowded and had ample seating that was well spaced out. The warm welcome and invitation at the door as we browsed the menu also made it an easy choice. Table service was good and ensured that we registered our details first up and we were provided water for the table. Our meals were Pasta Zingara, Pasta Alfredo and Pizza Pollo. Accompanied by a lovely rose wine, beer and other drinks. The meals were generous, well prepared and hot, and very tasty. They clearly have mastered the art of good service, good food and welcoming atmosphere.

Disappointed Returning Customer

As a returning customer of many years, this will be the last, I rang a week ahead to book being NYE Was told 2 sittings available, I chose 6pm & arrived 15 mins early. We were sat down in a hurry, we had 1 drink order taken, drinks arrived, meal order taken, our entree arrived in a timely manner, then went down hill from there, we waited over an hour for our meal, we’re not offered another drink, it was kaos given NYE. I feel that the bar staff were flat out but the waitresses ended up in there instead of being ‘on the floor’ I asked twice about our meals, they finally arrived, were average quality & quantity for the price, I was very disappointed, I had been excited about going for weeks ahead, disappointing end to our annual visits & a night out as a busy couple…

Still great after more than twenty years

Lovely meal enjoyed by my husband and I on our last night in Broadbeach. This was a Tuesday night and we’ve dined at this restaurant for over twenty years and always had a great time. There were several other couples there and the welcoming waft of garlic and good things greeted us along with our super friendly waitress. We enjoyed a bottle of red, Mr Riggs The Gaffer Shiraz and it was most pleasing. For entree we shared a small prawn and chilli pizza - perfectly crisp base and exactly what we felt like. A good size for two for a starter. For main I had veal with mushrooms, brandy cream sauce, potatoes dauphinois and steamed vegetables. Yum, yum, yum. The veal was not super melt in the mouth but it was still very good and there was nothing left on my plate. My husband had bug penne with a rose sauce and loved it. And said the pasta and the bugs were perfectly cooked. Thank you for a memorable meal.

Not real Italian food

Was recently at this restaurant on a Saturday evening. Absolutely packed. My review is based on my own thoughts of how good Italian food is presented based on exeperiences here and in Italy. The 2 of os ordered our mains only. My partner ordered a pizza which she enjoyed but was over the top with fillings and pineapple(only in Australia or USA). Mine was veal scalloping with a tomato based sauce on it. The veal was dry and tough(like it was pre-cooked and when ordered put in a fry pan with the tomato based sauce) with potato, carrot and broccolli. Towards the end the bottom of my plate was a layer of oil. The meals suit the tourist trade but to say Italian cuisine it is not. I also ordered glass of wine from Chianti. It was a very deep red( never seen one this red before) and it was served in a warm wine glass(just newly washed I assume). Ordered a double espresso which by the time I received it was Luke warm and the cream was gone. Obviously not a nice taste. The offering of a small glass of port at end was a nice idea but it was so sweet. Overall not that impressed. I thought quite expensive for 2 mains and 2 drinks and 2 coffees.

Great Dinner Event

Well with all the worldwide madness we haven't travelled far Aussie wise of anywhere for that matter. But here we were back at Valentino's, eventhough its been years it was just like yesterday. Same owners, who make you feel you are dining in their family home not a public restaurant. Great Italian menu, great seafood, even oysters, our mid North Coast oyster growers have had their crops decimated by floods, so a real treat. The place is busy, but you are not rushed, sit back and relax. If you don't enjoy a visit to Valentino's you were the wrong Joint!!!
