Nice atmosphere- great food, but the portions are quite small for the price being charged we had the PAELLA CUBANA and it came with 2 prawns 1 mussel and 2 bits of squid- not what I was expecting for a seafood Paella

I didn’t absolutely dislike the place, had very friendly waiters, decor is lovely and the staff were attentive in a very busy restaurant. Food presentation is sensational. If you’re serving Paella on the menu, at least ensure the rice is cooked. I understand it needs...some firmness, but it was almost inedible to the point you actually struggled to break it down in your mouth, resulting in both my husband and I leaving more than half each of our dishes, perhaps a rush to get meals out and turn over tables, Im not sure?. Son liked the nachos, empanada was also nice. Had a better experience on our last visit to the GCMore

Firstly this is not a cheap restaurant, its in a prime location on the swanky Oracle Boulevard. Waitress didn’t know what the “seasonal vegetables” were that evening (important if you’d rather starve than eat broccoli), nor did she ask how my husband wanted his steak...cooked so we had to call someone else over and tell them. Said steak was ok but lukewarm and medium instead of medium rare, whilst my salmon was slightly overcooked. Not one person asked if we wanted anymore drinks, nor if the food was to our liking (even when we paid).More

Food was great, unfortunately European man who seemed intoxicated was a little rude. Although our waitress who looked after us was lovely.

On Friday (27/10), I booked a table for 6 at The Cuban, for 7.00pm on Friday 3/11. The Cuban immediately texted me, requiring my confirmation of the booking. I did so, immediately. I then advised my guests of the Dinner booking. On Thursday, 2/11, The...Cuban texted me again, requiring my confirmation of the booking. I did so, immediately. The dinner date with these friends is an annual event, and one couple come down from the NT and have been advisors to the current and past 3 Chief Ministers of the NT. The other couple who head up a private Fund Management Coy with a few hundred million dollars in assets, fly up from Sydney for the annual get together. My wife & I are GC locals. In the past 10 years, we have dined at The Cuban, once or twice a year, both as a couple, with friends, and, several years ago, arranged Tapas for 30 local in-house lawyers. Until now, we have had no complaints. However, at 5.15pm, a lady from The Cuban telephoned to advise that she had to cancel the booking, as they only had one Chef, that night and were only accepting "walk-in customers, or bookings for couples, only. As at the date of this review, there has been no follow-up apology from The Cuban. Bye bye Cuban. Never again. At the end of the day, I should have stayed with one of the Gennari Group Restaurants or Omeros. Ignore the 1 star. It's actually ZERO Stars for you, The CubanMore

Second visit here and once again, had a great time. Went for the banquet for two- plenty to eat, calamari, tortilla, chorizo, paella,churros- and great value for money. Attentive staff without being intrusive.

Outstanding. Best dinner in our week in Broadbeach. Great food, exemplary service, especially from David. Excellent kids menu - not just deep fried begets etc. actual, real food.

We've been going to this restaurant for years so it's doing something right. The menu is a lot smaller now than it was many years ago which isn't a problem if the food is good but I'd like to see the lamb cuban cigars back...on the menu. As a group of 4 all of the dishes we had were great tasting but the size of the meals are getter much smaller. The Mojito chicken with baked potato and sour cream ( you now get half a potato and potatoes arn't expensive ) I'm not very big and the size of this main was just enough for me. For the sake of half a potato it's really not worth ruining the reputation of a great restaurant.More

We have eaten at the Cuban on three other occasions before this month. Each and every time the food has been superb. The flavours are amazing and the service is friendly. If you are going in the cooler weather, book indoors as it’s outdoor area...is in the breezeway- great in Summer but not so in Autumn or Winter. We had the bread with black garlic butter, the paella and the citrus flavoured chicken. All the food was beautifully prepared and tasted delicious.More

Reexperience the rich and famous folks' fix of the Cuban Adventure that happened during the American prohibition years. Excitement you lose youself in. On Oracle Boulevard at Broadbeach, Gold Coast. The food is a fascinating flavour mix of Spanish, French, Portugese, African, Arabic and Chinese...cultures. Think Havana. We had the Varadero Banquet, as recommended by our hostess. She was just brilliant! Friendly, honest, humouress, direct, strong, well groomed and a community spirit. The Pan Con Tomato/grilled baguette bread infused with toppings and aged Serrano Jamon, the Tortilla De Patata (Spanish omelette) came in the first serve. Wow!! Then came the Chorizo and the Calamares A La Romana. Now we are both particular in taste and Calamari hasn't been our favourite yet...until we tasted this. Went off like a taste explosion! The highligh was the Paella Cubana. We may die for this in the future. And finished with a Spanish Churros. Plenty of coctails and mocktails to choose from. The Fidel's Rebels tops the cocktails. The food, service, decor, music and ambience takes you to another world to be re lived again! Don't miss it!! Best in Broadbeach.More

We dined here as a party of four adults & had a pretty disappointing experience. The service was poor - we had to ask four times to have water glasses refilled and finally had a bottle of lukewarm water slammed on the table. The various...wait staff who served us were rude & clearly trying to rush us through. One rolled his eyes when one of our group asked a few questions about the menu. Food was ok but not restaurant standard given the price. I wouldn’t dine here again. The following night we dined at Massaman & had a fantastic experience.More
