My sister and I attended Maggie Choo's New Year's Eve event this year (2021/22). All I can say is the staff, the food and the atmosphere were absolutely fantastic. I could not ask for a more fun and enjoyable evening. Thank you so much to...all the staff at Maggie Choo's.More
Have been here before and knowing how great it was decided on Maggie Choo for New Years Eve. The food was delicious and worth it. The service was friendly and fun. And a great DJ pumping out all the favourite dance tracks. Thankyou for a...great night.More
The food and service was really lovely... however the real dampener was your covid vaccination requirement. The hostess told me she only accepted Medicare certified records. As someone who has returned to Australia recently it has taken Medicare 3 months to get my number activated...and link my vaccination record. I had proof from the NHS (UK healthcare) using their app, however this wasn't accepted. After lots of time spent on my phone trying to get it linked, this was a really poor start to our meal as my friends had to sit and wait. I've not had this issue anywhere else in QLD and it was a real pain. Do you just not plan on having internationally vaccinated diners?? Very strange.More
Our evening at Maggie Choo started well with two delicious share plates. The Indonesian Fritters with a delicious peanut and lime sauce were amazing and the prawn and crab dumplings were very nice. As we were feeling very hungry we decided to have 2 main...courses, the Penang Duck Curry and the Tom Kha Prawn and Moreton Bay Bug Curry. Unfortunately neither of these dishes were enjoyable - the Tom Kha sauce was extremely unpleasant and the strong tamarind flavour overpowered the delicate flavour of the prawns and tiny amount of bug meat in the dish. We were told it was a tomato and coconut flavoured curry, however the couple of blobs of coconut milk on top of the curry sauce did nothing to lesson the thick, sour flavour of tamarind, and it was very unbalanced. The Penang curry had a better flavour, however the duck leg was dry. The wait staff seemed to know very little about the food, which was made even more obvious when one staff member announced the arrival of our chicken curry. When we pointed out we hadn't ordered chicken she still didn't know what it was (it turns out that it was the prawn and bug Tom Kha.) We had so been looking forward to dining here and were sadly disappointed.More
Staff are engaged and aware of what is happening around them - attentive.
Food was outstanding. Quality menu and choices. Only knock was gap between each of our mains coming out. A great experience and I will go back again.
Arrived at 5.30 for dinner with no booking with 2 teenagers in tow. Wait staff were slow to acknowledge us - 3 saw us but didn’t greet us and it felt like they were snubbing us. Host finally found us a table and gave us...a vacate by time (1.5 hrs is plenty of time) all perfectly reasonable as we had no booking. We were served by 3 different servers - service was adequate but bordered on frosty. The decor is beautiful and the food was all amazing. We had the bread, crab and prawn dumplings, king prawns, barramundi and pork belly. All excellent with gorgeous flavours. It is such a shame that the service didn’t match the food. We eat out for just about every meal during our family holidays and this is the worst service we received during our GC stay this time.More
