This was our second visit to On Fire, which describes itself as a Greek taverna and serves beautiful fresh food. Just like our previous visit, the servings were plentiful and the service was both prompt and friendly. On this occasion we shared the chargrilled seafood platter and all of us would unhesitatingly recommend it! Great taste at a great price.

Wow, what a menu! The service here was perfect, every staff member checked in on us to see how our meal was and if we needed anything, in a friendly way. We chose to share dishes and they made us feel like this was a good option and we had made a fabulous selection - customer service where you feel good afterwards is great. The food was as good as the service - we had the seafood tagine, feta in honey covered filo, and Greek sausages - everything was delicious. Would absolutely dine here again. Thank you for making our night so enjoyable.

We walked in without a booking and got a table for 2.
Service was simply outstanding--friendly and efficient.
To share, we ordered a sensational village tagine, and a couple of mezedes 'feta me meli' (filo wrapped feta) and 'loukaniko' (Greek sausage).
The tagine was big, packed with squid, octopus, fish, potatoes and muscles and would be a hearty meal for one with pita on the side. The mezedes were tasty and generous starters. Together the lot made a nicely balanced meal for two... and genuinely good value.

After reading many 5 star reviews our family were excited to have some great Greek food. Wow. What a disappointment. The food was average at best. The meat platter for two at $42 each was a small serving, Greek salad with soggy iceberg lettuce (FYI traditional Greek salads don’t have lettuce) and their so called “souvlaki” which is actually just slow cooked lamb. (FYI souvlaki is meat served on a skewer) After we questioned this with the owner he said that’s how he makes it. Well, sorry you cannot call it souvlaki then!!! Anyone who says this is the best/most authentic Greek experience they have ever had, I highly encourage you to try somewhere else.

Visited this restaurant looking for Greek cuisine and disappointed with the seafood platter that we selected. It hardly had any seafood and there was too much non seafood items.
The platter for two had pita bread pieces, chips and copious potatoes.
Compared with other restaurants seafood platter the seafood content is much less and the price much more than what may be found at other Broadbeach restaurants. The staff are welcoming, friendly and efficient. Disappointing for a birthday dinner.

This supposed Greek Restaurant is laughing all the way to the tourist bank by lying about its food. A prime example of this is the SOUVLAKI. It is NOT souvlaki, it is just lamb cooked in a crock pot, which this place also serves up as slow roasted lamb. Does the owner think we might not notice? Souvlaki is grilled lamb on skewers. Locals won't go near the place, so if you are a traveller go elsewhere or be mocked by the crooked owner of this restaurant who only has dollar signs in his eyes and a big grin. He knows he won't get return visits, so couldn't care less. I am a local and cringe when I see tourists dining there. The only time we ate there my wife ordered moussaka, which was old, greasy and disgusting, and I ordered souvlaki which was fake. Everyone in our apartment building (36 floors) has since commented negatively about this restaurant in our newsletter and each will not go there. Tourists stay away, especially if you are naive about quality and Greek food. This restaurant is an embarrassment to Broadbeach.

Hi there, first of all, thank you for leaving your feedback for us. We are incredibly disappointed to read this. We had a very tough time over the Covid-19 period before the government regulations forced the closure of our restaurant. As with most restaurants, there were adjustments that had to be made in order to remain open and unfortunately at the time our dining experience was understandably compromised in comparison to our usually high standards. Since we have re-opened, we have been able to return to our usual high standards that our many local regulars know and love. We pride ourselves on our repeat business and building relationships with both locals and tourists. I truly believe that your dining experience was due to the circumstances listed at the time and we would love to change your mind should you like to come in and give us that opportunity. If you would like to discuss your experience further, please give us a call or come and see us so we can make things right by you.

We caught up with our friends here and I could not fault the food, service or hospitality. I booked online and promptly received a phone message from Ash confirming our booking. When we arrived Ash welcomed us and offered suggestions of ordering some starters to share and then ordering our mains. We enjoyed the BBQ octopus as our main which was cooked to perfection, still juicy and tender.
Our friends who were the locals were very happy with my choice and am sure will be back again. As will we when we next visit.

On a rare night out without kids on our June school holidays getaway in Broadbeach, we booked a table for 2 in advance on a Tuesday night.
It was a cold and drizzly night and the place was almost empty. The restaurant is small and they had outdoor gas heaters operating near the entrance to keep the place warm with some good Greek music playing.
We ordered a seafood platter and were not disappointed. Plenty of good quality food without overeating, washed down with a bottle of wine.
Service was good given it was quiet, but we were the last to finish and could not help but get a sense that they wanted us to leave.
Apart from that, a quality dinner out.

I was really looking forward to trying On Fire as there are not many greek cuisines in the Gold Coasted, however I was so disappointed that I wouldn't recommend and I wouldn't be going back in a hurry.
We ordered Saganaki and when we got it it was rubbery, so not cooked like it should have been and it was covered in honey.. so not authentic at all.
My main, I ordered the Souvlaki Meat Platter which was also disappointing, the meat was slow roasted and saturated in oil and salt.. not to my liking at all.

Since that time we have been through a lot with the Covid lockdowns etc - however since we have reopened we have a new team in the kitchen and if you take a look at the more recent reviews you will see that they have been very positive. Visiting Gold Coast as family holiday and decided to try On fire Greek restaurant. Service was absolutely amazing and greeted with lovely gentleman. He was very attentive and provided our young son with little toy and special cutlery.
He was also very helpful to ensure we don’t over order as it’s easy to do so at Greek restaurant.
Food overall was very good but stand out dish was the goat meat dish as it was super delicious.
We will definitely be coming back to this restaurant.

The food was fantastic and the menu offered a huge of traditional Greek foods.
The meals were well priced and very tasty.
The manager provided exceptional service making us feel very welcome and appreciated as guests.

Little restaurant in Broadbeach with a big heart. I’m guessing he was the owner however he made us feel welcome and recommended a few dishes and was able to go into detail.
We ordered 2 meat platters and they definitely fed 3 people per platter. The meat was juicy and cooked perfectly on both platters and was accompanied with a salad and chips.
The also gave us a complimentary pita bread with dip whilst we waited for the platters.

On fire taverna is an amazing place to eat and talk, I ate the 3 dips and pita bread with my dad then ate a lamb shoulder. The pita bread together with the fresh hummus, tzatziki and skorthalia created a vibrant flavour explosion when combined, although I didn’t really like the hummus that’s just personal preference not that it was bad. Then the lamb shoulder came, I was already full from the pita bread and now the lamb came and absolutely blew me away by how completely amazing this dish was, the braised lamb sauce was perfect, the lamb was so tender and delicious! Oh and I almost forgot about the customer service, the owner (or manager I don’t know) was walking around chatting to people and creating a really nice atmosphere, and I can’t not mention the table service, they were always asking us if we wanted more (we did but we were too full) and answered any questions we had. In summary, On Fire Greek Taverna is a must go place if you are staying on broad beach, and I would 100% recommend it if you have never tried Greek food.

My husband and I dined at On Fire last night. We had the prawn fritters special and the lamb souvlaki platter. The meal was delicious and the lamb especially was so good that I could easily return today for more.. it was tender, really flavoursome and cooked to perfection. The serving sizes were generous and the meal was very good value. The staff were very professional, warm and helpful. Next time that we are on the Gold Coast we will return for sure.

My wife and I are frequent visitors to the Gold Coast and luckily came across this little gem. The night started off perfectly after informing the staff that it was my wedding anniversary when booking the table, we arrived to find a bouquet of roses at our table. Sarina & Monika were very attentive and well led by Ash the manager. Food was delicious and very moderately priced. Great Greek food if that’s your passion. Thanks to all for a memorable night. (No, we’re not friends or relatives of the owners)
