We were a group of 7 and ate in this restaurant twice in 5 days. The location is very pretty and has views of the lake from upstairs inside. The staff are friendly and helpful and the menu is quite extensive compared to others we visited. If you are vegetarian and struggling then you might fine something here (not a... More

El Toruño is a traditional restaurant, serving a wide variety of honest, local food. The food is enjoyable but not spectacular. Nicely decorated and beautiful views of the marshes.

This is the second time that I've eaten here, the first was outside where horsemen rode up ,tethered the horses and ordered glasses of rioca seated on their mounts. On this occasion, being early ( 12:30 ) we were ushered through the building to be seated at large windows to view the lagoon with Spoonbills,Ibis, flamingos and lake ponies taking advantage of the... The restaurant is located on the side of the lagoon and must offer great views during the daytime. We were there in November so we could not tell. The menu is extensive and covers good local produce like venison , geese and seafood. They do a decent job of cooking with good results. The portions are quite large so watch... More

If you plan to visit El Rocio, don't have lunch in one of the bars, seek out this place. It's a little on the expensive side but the quality is great. We had Clams, seafood platter, venison and the kids shared a mixed kids grill. With drinks the bill came to €85. This was my second time visiting this place... More

Popular with locals and tourists alike and with an excellent sitting out area at the front, the Toruno is always a popular choice, particularly at weekends. It is not every day, a horseman rides up and orders and drinks a beer sitting at his own bar.

It was chaotic when we ate there. The waiter didn't write down our order (which is a bit of a pose, I think). Two of the four dishes that arrived were wrong, and we had to remind him about the wine. Very poor.

El Rocio, small village located in a natural park, doesn't show an important gastronomic panorama. Toruno resort (hotel and restaurant) is a recommendable address. Prices apre in the average of other Andalusian tourism resorts; huge portions are usual, so the waiter immediately stopped us when we ordered two starters and told us we had to give up one of them.... We were staying at the Hotel Toruño a few metres away from the restaurant on the quiet Plaza del Acebuchal (Acebuchal means wild olive tree) and just outside the restaurant is a tree which is hundreds of years old. The restaurant is large, with plenty of tables outside under the olive trees when the weather is warmer, or a restaurant,... More
