Great meal and reasonably priced. Staff were attentive and also very helpful when asking about the local area. Also, dog friendly :)

Very expensive for mediocre café food. Tomato soup was good but overpriced. Service was efficient.
In a nutshell, the only staff there were a couple of kids serving and they obviously couldn’t cope unless they turned people away, despite there being plenty of empty tables. To make it worse, only one person cooking. A shame as we were last there...in winter 2015 and it was great. Brexit has obviously affected staffing badly ,but demand in Glen Coe during summer is very high and if better rates of pay were offered it’s a no-brainier that it would attract local people. We were meeting friends and spent some time trying to rearrange things. In the meantime we watched many carloads of people being turned away. I’m no expert, but that has cost them a lot of money and goodwill. We headed off to The Quarry at Ballacluish. Lovely food, great service. We won’t bother with the Gather againMore
Travelling back from the Isle of Skye, we decided to stop in Glencoe rather than Fort William. Hindsight is a wonderful thing. Firstly the welcome wasn't overly friendly. After receiving our menus, we waited ages for someone to take our order. We had to summons...a waiter over, when we eventually caught their eye. Drinks orders and food were taken together. My friend being vegetarian ordered veggie haggis. I had overpriced lasagne & chips. £16!! The order arrived shortly afterwards and it was pretty obvious our my lasagne was just heated up and half my chips had seen the frier more than once they were that dark & crispy. When my friend's plate was placed in front of her, the waiter made some reference to black pudding. He then corrected himself to veggie haggis. Her chips were reheats too. When she went to eat it she wasn't convinced it was vegetarian. I tried it & wasn't convinced either as the texture was meaty. She queried the waiter who said he had put through veggie haggis. Nobody came near us after that to ask whether everything was OK. The waiter seemed to be deliberately avoiding us. We had to go to till to pay. Only when my friend refused to pay that they queried the chef who didn't know whether it was vegetarian or not. When we were on the way out the door. Basically overpriced reheated food & if your vegetarian, you are taking a risk. The service isn't that great either.More
Arrived and noticed ample seating available. Was told by staff that they were not accepting any more diners, as they were trying to find the chef?? Was then told we could get a takeaway pizza from the red shed pizza place outside. We walked over...to see a sign displaying " cash only" which was typical, when most establishments only take cards. To top it all off, we were told no other orders were being taken. It's like the left hand didn't know what the right hand was doing. The hospitality industry has really suffered in recent years but it is frustrating, as a patron, who wants to support the hospitality industry, to be met with obstacles like this, which annoys customers and affects businesses. I can't review the food but restaurants like this need to do better, especially in an area where walkers, campers and tourists alike, really rely on their services. Scottish hospitality is missing a trick here.More
Never again basically 4 suppers and 4 soft drinks £74 must be dearest fish and chips in scotland better off at clagaig inn
As the only place to eat in Glencoe Village, you’d expect a place to capitalise on this. Nearest alternatives really require a drive. On arriving, at 18.45 on a Saturday, on a public holiday weekend, we arrived at a half full restaurant, only to be...told they were taking no more people. We were then directed to their little subsidiary Red Shed pizza place in the car park. Arrived at that to see ‘Cash only’ sign… seriously! In this day an age? Despite that, ready to order, we were told they couldn’t deal with any more offers and were effectively closed, even though closing was not until later in the evening. Needless to say, I won’t be visiting again.More
Was staying at local campsite arrived at resturant to be told that that they were fully booked ,fair enough we hadn't booked 4 adults and a 2 year old. Staff directed us to the pizza take away behind restaurant which we were happy to do....The server there gave us menus to chose which pizza we would like which took us a few minutes to do.( we did this standing opposite the serving hatch ) when we stepped forward to order we were told they had now closed early. A staff member from the restaurant had informed the server this as we stood making our mind up. All I can say is we were very angry at this. We had been travelling for 4 hrs to get to the area. Will definitely not be back.More
Stayed at a nearby campsite and enquired with Glencoe Gathering some days prior to arriving whether a reservation for dinner was required. I was told that there was no booking system in operation and it would not be a problem to walk in for dinner...as this was normal practice. I arrived around 6pm to be told that the restaurant was full for the evening, despite observing numerous tables with reserved signs thereon. Enquiring In to this I was told that those tables were reserved for hotel quests. So if the hotel is full and every guest decides to eat there...(which they will as there is nowhere else) then the restaurant is full to capacity for that evening. The only other option was to order a 'chippy' take away which was single handedly the worst 'chippy' I have had. Frozen oven chips and haddock which had clearly been frozen and deep fried in old oil and left to sit in same. Oily ,greasy and hit the stomach and pocket hard. At just shy of £30 for two suppers this was a hard dinner to swallow in more ways than one. Book a room here if you want to eat in Glencoe ,it appears its the only way you can get a table.More
Friendly service, nice food (nothing particularly special, but does the job on a day out), stunning location and nice atmosphere. A great place to stop for a refuel when exploring Glencoe
Walked for 15 mins from the campsite to the pub and on arrival at 7pm on a quiet Thursday was told they was full even though there was plenty of empty tables free ! Bit of a joke when there was only 3 of us...the place was empty and it was quiet ! Not impressedMore
We had fish and chips to take away. A mixed review, trying to be as fair as I can. + Rapid efficient service +++ amazing location. If weather allows, sit out at the picnic tables or any of many other lovely spots within easy 5...minute walk, looking at stunning scenery + Whole site is really pleasant, clean and tidy. + Fish was fresh and cooked fine. - portion pretty small for £15 - - chips very dry indeed. I've given 3 stars , let's face it, remote locations have bigger challenges on cost, especially right now. Overall value - below average, but if you're hungry and the sun is shining, and you don't mind putting plenty extra sauce on your chips, your experience could be fine.More
We turned up at a really busy time but were given a table and served great food, carefully prepared and were well taken care of. We enjoyed a lovely meal which was adapted to be gluten free with no bother. This is our third visit...and we’ll definitely return. Thank you team!More
Visited on Tuesday 8th August for family meal. Daughter and I went for steak sandwich (£22 menu option) which arrived with small basket of chips, sandwich was toasted sour bread which was cold, piece of little gem lettuce and one slice of tomato. Steak (5...strips) was also cold - a really poorly executed dish by the chef. No offer of condiments by server. Drinks arrived after 30 minute wait. Really need to look at their service culture from chef to wait staff. Younger male server had extremely haughty attitude - perhaps needs firmly reminded he’s working in roadside pub in Glencoe not a Michelin star restaurant. Customers like me paying his salary. Raised this issues with female server as I left who assured me they would be communicated to the chef - not convinced they will beMore
Stopped for lunch whilst travelling through. As we had dogs, I asked for two fish and chips for take away to eat on the outside tables. 30 pounds!!! I mean, I don't mind paying if the food is good but these fish and chips were...tasteless!!! After I had ordered, my partner said that a couple had just commented don't bother as they are awful and wish we'd had listened. After I had ordered, the staff decided to tell people after me that it would be a 40 min wait for food (both inside and take away).. This place was busy with a steady flow of tourists coming in. Whilst I was waiting for my food, I witnessed the front of house male actually appear quite rude to people coming in with his tone. The kitchen also seemed chaotic and disorganised and possibly short of staff. I'm sorry but this place doesn't deserve the amount of customers coming in or the prices they charge. It could be something special but its really not. Staff need to be better too.More
