We ate dinner at La Carbonella when a thunderstorm hit, with heavy rainfall creating a stream down all the streets in town. It was a fun and memorable dinner! The touristaca menu (before 8 pm), was a great value at 15 Euros for a 3 course meal which left us full. The mussel soup, mostly mussels in a very flavorful... More

Tasty, tipical sicilian dishes, not very expensive, I suggest "caponata di mare" and "zuppa di cozze", unfortunately the service isn't regular every day, we were there in a few days in a row and the same dishese were sometimes not so good as the day before.

We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at this family run restaurant. The atmosphere was beautiful and everyone here was just happy. I had a linguine marinara that was to die for and my wife had linguine with clams shrimp & pistachio nuts that was sensational. Great experience here and I would recommend this restaurant highly.

We had diner at La Carbonella tonight. They offer a cheap 15 euro tourist meal. You get a lot of food and the quality is OK, but not great. The atmosphere is really relaxed and the staff is really nice, but doesn't speak English. The terrace was full, so be there on time and enjoy.

We ate here in out first evening in San Vito because it was not so crowded. The food was ok, nothing special. The portions are not so big, but this might be because usually in italy you have several courses at a meal. We ate pasta (busiata) with shrimps and pasta with zucchini and shared a pizza margherita. We took... More

It says "LaCarbonella Pizzeria Trattoria"... Well after sitting down for lunch we discovered that they only offer pizza for dinner. Ask for pasta pomodoro without parsley or basilico... It came with parsley all over it. Spaghetti alle vongole wasn't very good. Etc etc

We found an ENTIRE COOKED COCKROACH in the very popular Cous Cous dish, mixed in the top layer. We immediately stopped eating, and waited for the server to come back. I pulled the server aside and told him about the cockroach without trying to cause a scene. He picked it up and was apologetic, and we got up and told... More
