While relatively close to Bury St Edmunds, the Woolpack maintains the feel of a quiet country pub. The decor in the dinng area is 18th Century to Victorian with paneling , and shelves of crockery. The service was welcoming and friendly. While I was only in for a hot drink, the food served to other tables was well presented, and... More

Very impressive curry night on a tuesday. The usual menu is heavily reduced to make way for very authentic indian cuisine. Not as much choice as in an Indian restaurant but this lively village pub is a great find and the price is reasonable. I found it hard to make contact to make a booking but when i left a... More

A regular venue for our Sunday pre-lunch drinks, nice pint of Abbott Ale, nice selection of lagers and craft beers, excellent red wines. The Roast dinners are very generous size wise, although the cooking of the meat and veg seems to vary from plate to plate. Generally a nice pub experience with average food, but pleasant enough.

There were 11 of us who went for our Christmas meal out. Service and hosts were fantastic and accommodating and couldn't do enough for us including letting us move tables and re lay them somewhere else. Food was outstanding some of the best I've had in and long time and we all agreed. Lovely presentation and full of flavour. The... More

Been there a few times, bar staff always make you feel very welcome and are always very friendly. Went late on a Sunday afternoon and had a risotto, my go to meal of choice, and it's safe to say this is one of the best I have ever had. My other half had the roast and couldn't decide which meat... I compare with restaurants in belgium. The chef understands the art of cooking sirloin with respect for the meat, tigether with the fresh salat and the handcut fries it was smashing... My word had the cod and was most pleased with it. For desert, we had the crumble which was near to perfecte in. The staff is friendly and very... More

Had a really nice lamb hotpot, good service and good value. Nice pub, nice atmosphere. Worth a visit if only for the comedy chickens in the car park.
