I’m not much of a sweet tooth but I will definitely be back! Just not on a significant day. We went on Mother’s Day and it was so busy they had to turn so many people away. The owner was so lovely to us, we...didn’t have a booking however he made room for myself and partner and 2 year old little girl. We all had sweet pancakes however the savoury breakfast looked amazing! I’d prefer to go on a “normal” day when it wasn’t so busy as we had to wait quite a while and with a 2 year old waiting isn’t fun. I chose there as I assumed pancakes would be quick to make and get out. They also forgot to put maple syrup on mine but the others had it. So I had to send it back as it’s the only reason I ordered that particular pancake. When it returned they had just squirted it around the outside whereas my partners it was all through it so mine didn’t quite have the taste that it should have. But I’d like to go back when it’s not so busy as they were very tasty.More

The most amazing pancakes I have eaten in my life. Light fluffy. Delicious. The owners are so nice and welcoming. If your ever in Tasmania you have to take a drive to the pancake train. 10/10

Beautifully repurposed train carriages with a big array of vendors. We purchased sausage from the Billtong carriage after very generous tastings. We then had lunch at the pancake carriage - great service & delicious drinks & pancake meal. A word of warning though they are...very big serves 🙂 Great service from the “cool man” along with a big slice of humour.More

Perfect spot for lunch when visiting Inverawe Native Gardens with reasonably priced light lunch options. I had the king island beef pie which came with delicious leafy salad with shaved Parmesan. It was perfect.

.Fantastic outing with my 6 year old, we both loved the experience and the food! The carriage has been restored beautifully, with 1950s tunes adding to the atmosphere. And it felt very clean. Very generous servings, but not too sickly sweet. Old fashioned spider was...a huge hit. Good idea to book ahead during busy season, like school holidays. We had to wait 15 mins but kept ourselves busy in nearby shops. We will be back for sure! Thanks Ben and teamMore

The excellence of the food is surpassed only by the friendliness and warmth of the staff, which coupled with the rustic charm of a sensitive steam train carriage conversion, takes you back to the bygone era of great service with a smile. And while they...specialise in pancakes, their scones are straight out of Windsor Palace!More

We came across the pancake train on Google & chose to stop in for breaky on our way to Bruny Island. Ben was fantastic, hospitable & the food was delicious & great sized portions. The homemade tomato relish was delicious as was the berry smoothly...& honeycomb milkshake. Ben was kind enough to share history of the train & his business which was very interesting to us. We thoroughly enjoyed our Pancake train experience. From your Queensland & NSW visitors :-DMore

I have always been a fan of the pancake train. For many reasons I hadn’t had the opportunity to visit lately and it is now a bit far from home so when I had a day off I jumped in my car with my dog...and went down for breakfast. I ordered the simple maple and bacon pancakes. I’m not complex, the only extra thing was I ordered a poached egg on top. It was on the outdoor patio as I had my dog with me and what was my surprise when I saw someone in the kitchen putting the stack of pancakes in the microwave. I’m sure anyone would be baffled to see that the “specialty” is not made fresh and we all know how bread products get when re-heated in a microwave, well you can now imagine how my pancakes were. They looked awesome at first. But A somehow they tasted like they were made with wholemeal batter. They tough, sandy, dry… they were inedible. My egg was good, I guess it’s not easy to mess up an egg. My dog enjoyed the bacon, though. Disappointed would be an understatement. Not going to miss going there.More

We had a fantastic morning tea in a unique train carriage. Service by Ben very friendly. Apple pancakes so yummy. Homemade sausage roll yummy from a sausage roll expert. Definitely worth the stop. The surrounding quirky businesses worth a visit especially the collectables shed.

Two tables were free but needed a wipe down. We were asked to leave the train so the tables could be wiped down. We left and did not go back.
