Very disappointed tonight , we went for the first time on Christmas Eve , was fairly busy , but not too crazy , food was ok , went again tonight , food was below average , and I’m being generous, waited over an hour for...food , plus 30 or so minutes to get someone to take the order , seemed quite obvious the staff don’t want to be there , will not be visiting again , spend your hard earned elsewhere ..More

We looked forward to our Sunday drive to the Fleurieu Peninsula and booked, upon recommendation, the Victory Hotel for a late lunch. The place was fairly busy and we had to wait some time for ordering our food, which we patiently accepted. I chose 'fried...red snapper' from the 'Specials' board, and after waiting almost an hour for our mains to be served, I received some dark brown, deep fried lumps of batter with bits of fish inside, which you couldn't even separate from the batter, all placed in a 'soupy' rice dish. When being asked at the checkout, how our meals were, I politely mentioned my disappointment about the burnt, 'deep fried fish' instead of 'pan fried snapper'. I actually wasted my breath, as I received a 'tell somebody who cares' look and not even a 'thank you' for payment.More

Stumbled across this wonderful pub at lunchtime today and found that it's not your ordinary pub grub..we started with a antipasto platter with the wife selecting the smoked chicken with parmesan gnocchi and I having a perfectly cooked juicy Angus Sirloin. Wow the chefs here...know how to present and dish up an excellent meal. Views are wonderful and service pretty good too. Recommend.More

Wow, this place doesn't look like much from the outside, but the food was exceptional and big portions. Very good value for money.

We go here often with friends, sort of a "regular". The lunch is always good solid pub fare, but the prices has crept up. Staff are always helpful and friendly and engage friendly banter with the guests. I would highly recommend this pub for lunch,...but you must book in advance.More

Took family friends here yesterday for their special 45th Anniversary lunch (supposed to have been in August, but due to illness and covid .....) the booked a table 'outside' under the verandah which has blinds that you can raise for walls, but still see through...to the fantastic view. I had not been here for a few years, my last experience not that flash. This time was different. We were greeted by friendly staff, shown to our table with a view and explained its still pub style - ordering drinks and food we needed to go to the bar. No probs, its a short walk ! Large interesting wine list, there is even a cellar under the hotel, while being usual pub fare the menu caters for all very well. And it has to, the hotel is a very popular place so a very large inticate menu would not be able to cope with the demand so if you are expecting descriptive unusual dishes, you wont find them. I had the Myponga Beach Squid, large portion, wonderfully tasty. My friends had the traditional battered local fish and salad and a scotch fillet that was PEERFECTLY cooked and BEAUTIFULLY PRESENTED. It was a busy Wednesday lunch so food service was not the quickest but what we got was well worth the wait. And a kind staff person took our photo on departure. Thankyou to all for making their our lunch memorable.More

Arrived just before sunset, pre dinner drinks overlooking a setting sun over the gulf. Great choice on menu, went for a shared entree of Szechuan, aioli and wakame oysters. For mains we had the specials. A salmon fillet and a wagyu rump. Both were awesome...and had limited seasoning to allow the real flavour of the meat come through. Not many choices for desserts but still we had the affogato and the torta caprese. Very busy even on a Thursday, so booking is essential. Staff are attentive and polite.More

Felt so unwelcome, they sat us at the wrong table and treated us like it was our fault, so rude, glasses chipped and staff grumpy, food was ok but it was very disappointing. Won’t go back.
