Went to the Victory hotel with my Brother for a belated Birthday lunch. We decided to eat in the bar area and sat at the bar. We ordered a serve of the Pork Belly and a Beer Battered fish with Chips & Salad. The meal...was disappointing to say the least. The pork was way over-seasoned and the fish was so full of bones I gave up on the meal after choking twice and pushed the plate away with a line of bones on the side of the plate. We were asked how the meal was but I don't know why they bothered, they didn't care about the answer (fish full of bones) except to offer excuses "they usually dissolve in the deep fryer"........we were told, this tells me that they probably don't even try to de-bone the fish. It is worth driving a little further South, or North for better food options. This is the second time we have had a below average meal at the Victory - there will not be a third.More

We went to Victory Hotel restaurant on a Sunday for lunch. We had been on a hike earlier and were very hungry by the time we got there. As our table wasn't ready, we wanted to take a look at the menu to decide what...to order, so that by the time we got the table, we would be ready to place the order straightaway. But the server insisted we must be seated at the table first. We reluctantly agreed. Finally, we got the table, by which time we were ravenous. Our group ordered the lamb, pork, snapper, squid and King George Whiting for mains. Although it took a little over an hour to get the food, all the mains were equally good. Everyone was pleasantly surprised by the quality of food. While we were eating, we asked for the dessert menu, as two in our party needed to leave early. The server said 'usually the dessert menu is brought to the table only after the mains are cleared'. We explained to her that some in our party needed to leave early and that's why they want to place the dessert order right then, so they could get the desserts as soon as they finished the mains. After a very long wait, we finally got the dessert menu. We mostly ordered pannacotta / cannoli. Two in our group ordered the affogato. Once the mains were cleared, all desserts came to the table, except the affogato. After waiting for a few minutes, one in our party went inside to ask about the missing desserts, only to be told 'usually, affogato is served after the desserts are finished'. So, the two who ordered affogato had to wait until the rest finished their desserts, to get theirs. Then we ordered coffee. Again, waited and waited, no coffee. Had to go in and remind, after which the coffee finally came. By the time we finished, we were rather tired of the server' s attitude and we just wanted to leave. It was a real pity the service was so lacklustre-because the food was tasty, and the portion sizes were generous. The location was lovely. But ultimately, it was the service that left a lasting impression on us.More

It had been recommended to me by several people and I guess my expectations were high. The service was ok, food, nothing to write home about, and what’s with all the dogs… what I hoped would be a relaxing romantic lunch was spoilt by yapping...mutts and screaming kids. Wouldn’t bother againMore

Fantastic meal. We ordered a selection of entrees and everything was perfectly cooked. The scallops were good but probably our least favourite of all the dishes…which is a compliment to the other dishes as I love scallops! Squid was great but the tofu spring rolls...won dish of the day from us! The flavour combo and delicious chilli sauce is a force to be reckoned with. Honestly don’t be afraid of tofu everyone, cooked well it is a flavour sensation. The dips were also a huge hit. The eggplant in particular was a stand out. Kudos to the chef for an award winning menu and particularly including top rate vegan options. I have told a few friends about you already.More

Service on slow side. Having to go to bar to get a drink whilst mains were getting cold not ideal especially if you get caught behind other customers. Porterhouse did come out as ordered which was a plus.

Consistently very good. Had the house made dips which were very nice as were the pickled vegetables on the antipasto plater. Probably from the chefs garden we saw when we entered the hotel.Steaks were perfect but what the people at our table all commented on...was how good and full of flavour the au jus sauce was that accompanied the steaks. And the polenta potato. Service was friendly and efficient from the wait team/ young lady who served us.Thankyou.More
