The places to eat fish (and maybe chips) on Ameland. There are restaurants in Nes and (a little bit more charming) in Hollum. Staff was quick and friendly and we found everything tasty.

I have coming to Ameland for over 20 years and this place is an institution. The simply have the best "kibbeling" with garlic sauce. Super friendly and helpful staff who are nearly all trilingual (Dutch, German and English). Not to be missed when visiting Ameland.
Hardly rude......maybe not as bubbly as across the Atlantic, but if met by a smile and a friendly remark, no shortage of inter-personal exchange. Very tasty kibbeling but the staff was a bit rude and the whole logistics from queuing and ordering was a bit unorganised.
