We visited here on day 2 of our weeks holiday after a recommendation of a friend & we had a lovely meal. After visiting several restaurants over the week for breakfast lunch and dinner Cantina up near the end of the strip rather than the...casino as our favorite. Tonight I had steak the size of the plate cooked perfectly. Gorgeous house wine and even our local baby Guinness shots were fabulous! Will definitely come back when we return in january. The staff are v efficient and extremely busy and work v hard. If any negative if staff had a little more time to chat more to customers it would be great but they are busy busy but still are v pleasant Thank you for a fantastic evening of food & drinks in a lovely restaurantMore

We discovered Cantina in 2018, and absolutely loved it. We were introduced to such delights as tagine, and made many return visits during both our trips to Lanzarote that year, and again in June and September 2019. Despite the pandemic we managed to get to...Lanzarote later in 2020 too. We eagerly headed for Cantina, but to our surprise had a very disappointing meal. We could understand changes to the menu, but sadly there was a very definite decline in the meal quality, where things appeared to be bulked out with cheaper ingredients such as potatoes. We thought this might just be a hiccup, so went back again later in that holiday, but things were no better. We were fortunate enough to be able to get to Lanzarote again this September too. Despite our experiences of the previous year we felt we should give Cantina another chance. Whilst my wife’s burger was very acceptable, my tagine was very poor indeed. There was a huge amount of couscous, but not much else. There was genuinely more bone than meat, and the whole thing was so dry as to be virtually inedible. The other point to note is that parts of the building such as the lovely internal courtyard are now downright scruffy; this is not the rustic charm it used to have, it just feels like lack of care. It would be very easy to blame the pandemic for this situation, but we simply don’t believe that. We went to other restaurants on the island that have not just coped, but upped their game and got even better. Sadly, we can no longer recommend this restaurant.More

Food was actually very very nice, from the chicken fajita to the meat fajita to the burrito and the chill n rice Lots to think about, how spicy or not spicy you want, all absolutely tasty. My only grumble would be the meat fajita portions...are so good but you don't give enough tortillas The reason for the 4 star, staff not really interested, no pleasantries, they could see we were taking holiday photos but no Interest in saying, hey, let me take one of the whole group. Cheer up and look like u want to be there team otherwise your customers won't be.More

Last time 2018, with a very large party pre Covid of course . Love ❤️ this place Ben and his fabulous team make running a restaurant look like a breeze, although behind the scenes maybe not . Great food, staff are friendly. Will be great...when the music 🎶 is back in the garden 🪴. We will be back I am sure thanks for our gift today very generous. Good luck 🤞🏽 with the Vegan 🌱 restaurant too. Maybe try that next time , or come and visit twice. Stay safe everyone Well worth a visit just don’t tell everyone. K, M&S xxMore

We went there 2 times. The first time was really great. Great food and great service. Second time less good. Service was really bad we were a big table, but the waitress seemed annoyed to serve us. Food was good but my sister found a...cockroach in her burger… well that says it.More

We were staying nearby in Teseguite and had lunch then dinner at La Cantina on separate days. The premises are in an interesting old building, great music track and excellent service from a young and keen staff. Most importantly the food was great, grilled bocinegro...fish, pulled pork roll, lamb tagine, duck confit burger. With wine and desserts a meal is about €70. We really enjoyed La Cantina, don't miss it.More

We had such a nice night here. Relaxed atmosphere and staff, tasty food & ice cold malvasia. It's a refreshingly edited menu and we still had loads more we wanted to try. Will definitely be back.

We live in Lanzarote. The Canteen was always a quirky place with high prices. You got good food, good service, fine wines from nice glasses so the high prices were justified. On this visit it remained quirky with high prices but sadly all else had...changed. The food was dire, the glasses were cheap and thick rimmed and the service was inattentive. At 50 euros a head it is extremely poor value for money. Avoid.More

Hi We are sorry you didn't enjoy Cantina We've used the same make and model of glasses since we opened 12 years ago so I can't see how that was a problem... We've dropped our wine prices last year by 10% so I can't see...More

We visited twice during a short break in Teguise, the first time for lunch and the second time just to sit and relax for the afternoon having enjoyed the previous day so much. The highlights of the food from both days were the Zamburiñas (Galacian...scallops) and the vegetable tagine and it was nice to be able to drink locally brewed beer. Service was good despite the restaurant being very busy on the first day.More
