Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Fabulous experience - best espresso martini I’ve had in a long while! Think it was made by Andrea. All the staff were fabulous (Shout out to Andrew who looked after us, James and the DJs). Great tunes and great vibes - very chilled and much...better than the reviews we had read implied. Much more refined and chilled vibe than cafe mambo next door. So good we went two nights on the bounce. We will return - soon!More

Great views. Nice atmosphere. Delicious food and cocktails. Very friendly staff. Vibes diminished after sunset. People started leaving and only elderly people remained. But atmosphere before that was great and food was yummy.

We all thought we were having a lovely time at cafe del mar ibiza. We had a busy day so we amended our booking from 1830 to 2000. To find out a week later the had charged me 300euros to amend our booking time. This...was an unauthorised transaction they have taken on my card details they held at time of booking. Our group of 10 spent over 500euros on the night plus spent money in their store. I have been in contact trying to get my refund with no reply. I have had to get my bank involved as they they took the money unauthorised. This kind of hassle is not what you need after you get back from an expensive holiday! Would never visit them again.More

Absolutely horrendous... we came 3 years ago and had a lovely time. After reading the comments about the rude staff etc recently we still thought we'd give it a go. Firstly we had very rude stuff to say the least. We then got seated but...had reserved seafront and got 3rd row back when everywhere was empty. We always come and spend quite a lot to enjoy our evenings and splash out a bit. Why not when not got kids with you. The drinks took forever to come (although I will give them credit the drinks were alright). But the service was very poor. Staff miserable. Not a smile in place. Mambos served us as usual NEVER AGAINMore

Amazing place with great vibes and good food and drink. It’s the place to be for sunsets and better than cafe mambo, manager James is a real gent and their own brand of drinks is next level. A must visit in Ibiza!

Beautiful spot for the sunset but would rather save my money and sit on the rocky beach in front. Drinks are overpriced which we were aware on our arrival but thought for a beautiful sunset would be worth the expense. We also order the “duo...of burgers” for 3 people at 26€ each. When the burgers arrived they were stone cold and served in a basket you’d expect in a fast food branch. They took 1 hour to arrive to which we had to send them back. Was told we would have new burgers within 5 minutes and was still waiting another 20 minutes when we then decided to cancel the order as it had really ruined the experience and was not paying the extortionate costs for the slow service. When explaining to the waiter upon receiving our bill they even agreed that they would not eat the food and also made us aware the issue is they are frozen. We also didn’t receive an apology until I expanded on my complaint and not cancelling the order. The staff are clearly extremely overworked and for the money they charge there is no excuses to staff the business appropriately.More

Can’t fault the view. Drinks were fine albeit extremely overpriced. The service was very slow. We ordered food which took 50 mins or so to arrive, and when it did, it was stone cold. I asked the waiter to change it as it was cold...meat and he took it away then returned with it stating that it’s ‘impossible it’s cold’ and placed it in front of us. I asked him to touch it and see got himself and he refused, saying we were wrong and the chef said it’s impossible etc etc. awful service just change the damn burger to a fresh one! Anyway he refused to change it, we refused to eat it, there was a moment of ‘well what do we do now?’ Until he angrily retuned with our bill thrown down on our table. I suspected this was our que to leave…More

Huge disappointment. WTF. Do not fall for the con that this an exclusive destination with a great atmosphere. It is decidedly average, incredibly overpriced and while we planned to have dinner, decided to leave after being robbed of €38 for two very poor cocktails. Attached...photo of the "beautiful sandy beach" shown on the website. What a shame.More

Over rated living off its heyday set in now a run down area of the town. Went for dinner 10 May 2024 waited over an hour to get food despite having a pre booked reservation. Kept getting told there was a ‘communication error’ with our...order! No staff & those that are there are inexperienced have no idea how to run the place efficiently . Waiter forgot my drink waited another 15 minutes for it. Far better places to spend your money, see the sunset & enjoy the island life. Don’t go just because it’s Cafe del Mar!More

This is the worst food I’ve had In many years. I never write a bad review but this truly deserves it. I was charged an extortionist 20 euros for potato bravos which they must have dinged in the microwave. This was main meal !!! Really...disgusting 🤮. Such a disappointment because this island has such a beautiful cuisineMore

Wonderful place to sit and sip a cocktail and watch the sunset. It was the best pina colada I've had. The food was OK bit pricey but it's to be expected. Overall it was a Wonderful way to end our holiday and I'd definitely go...back. The staff were lovely and attentive.More

Best sunset. Worst margarita The last night on the magical isle Sunset awaits a knowing smile We arrive in San Antonio by Elaine Page’s car Taking front row seats at café del mar Stories and memories exchanged between friends Watching a sunset that never ends...And as the pals are watching this gorgeous scene with delight Nothing can ruin this perfect night But then the lasses are about to be floored By the worst margarita that’s ever been poured A drink so normally divine and sublime Is essentially an €18 glass of lime! The agave is missing, the balance is distorted All sense of enjoyment truly thwarted Extra tequila is ordered at €9 a pop But still the agony doesn’t stop The lasses feel disappointed and forlorn And then arrives the Tesco prawns The moment of the much awaited sunset is nearing But pleasure, along with the sun, is quickly disappearing But the night is saved by lovely staff and the friendship they feel And Shona and Charly confirm the marga-let-down is real The moral of the story is get yourself a bottle of cheap wine And sit yourself on the beach, it’ll do you just fine The best holiday ever but possibly the worst bar It’s all fur coat and no knickers at cafe del marMore

We decided to visit to try and catch the sunset, which was amazing the position of the Cafe is ideal! Due to how famous it is the prices are reflected! A bottle of 330ml beer was €9 and a cocktail €18. The food options we...had were limited but really enjoyable. The Iberia pork was excellent, the portion size is on the smaller side. If you are looking for the location and a cheaper option, you can sit next to the cafe or on the rocky beachfront and bring your own picnic.More
