We were traveling through from Stratford to Waitomo and since this is the only place we saw that looked like it might sell food we stopped. This place is great! Not only can you get a decent, reasonably priced meal but you can visit "The Home of The Republic" and get your Passport Stamped for a couple of bucks! The... More

The staff were very friendly and the old photos very interesting. You could eat inside or out. It is child friendly and their beer is great.

This pub was a great lunch stop over after wandering around the township, reading the boards and enjoying the sun. People were friendly, busy place and the venison sausages, with mash and peas with gravy was awesome - best had in a long time. This is well worth stopping at on your journey along the Forgotten Highway.

This iconic hotel is on the Forgotten World highway. After a windy drive from Stratford, this was a welcome stop for lunch. Really friendly staff. Lots of photos tracing the history of this "repulic"

Very atmospheric with all the memorabilia. Good service and decent coffee. The meals looked good too but I didn't indulge.

Overnight stay on 2 day Forgotten World golf cart trip down railway line. Hotel in good order and well presented but no modern facilities like en suite bathrooms. Food excellent. Great place.
