Bucolic setting and nice, clean room. I booked the hotel in the U.S. on booking.com in $ but was charged the same amount in £'s when I got there. Even though I showed the booking, they said that they do not know what booking.com advertises...More

Stayed 3 nights, place is spacious. Had a fire recently but they are making the best if it. Dining room pleasant enough and food is not bad. A bit pricey for food and drink. Rooms have a balcony area and are quite large. I had...More

We visited here for Sunday lunch and were not disappointed. We were aware that the hotel had suffered a fire in part of the building a few weeks ago but as it was local we thought we would give it a try! We were ushered...More

We ate on the mezzanine level - popuar restaurant, good service, reasonable prices. We arrived early evening, booked into the attached hotel and headed to the bar needing to eat and be out again in 30 mins. They did us proud.

We where a party of four adults booked in for lunch - the ambience and welcome was good and service we could not fault - we had the fixed price menu of 3 courses. It was very disappointing for two of our party who had...More

We went to the Potters Heron’s New Years Eve party as we have been doing this for a number of years as we enjoy it so much. We liked our meal but it wasn’t anywhere as nice as in previous years. We had superb service,...More

My party of 7 went to The Potters Heron for our Christmas Day lunch. This was costing £68/head and so we were expecting something very decent - what a disappointment! (£35/head would have been too much) On arrival we could choose from a glass of...More

My partner and I decided to visit the Christmas market in Winchester and to save a long journey home we booked into The Potters Heron Hotel. On first arriving the hotel looked absolutely stunning. The reception was very welcoming and the staff friendly and helpful....More

I had never been here before but had passed many times and seemed like an excellent location from a family Christmas get together with people travelling from Farnham, Basingstoke and Southampton. When I arrived I was pleased. The decor was modern and smart. However when...More

Six of us went to The Potters Heron restaurant this evening. We were served awful, unappetising food. Tasteless salmon starter. We had to ask twice for our bread. Mash potato stone cold, and so-called beef stew stodgy and dry. No fresh vegetables. All the food...More

Description
A recent fire at The Potters Heron has left us somewhat singed! Our beautiful thatched roof has taken the brunt of the damage and has meant relocating our restaurant and bar into the main hotel Garden Room overlooking our rear gardens. The bar restaurant is still the perfect place for Hotel residents and locals to meet, have a meal, or simply raise a glass or two. Join us and catch up with your friends in the bar; book an intimate table in the restaurant; or reserve a larger area for your club or family gathering; and have a good time. Our kitchen is open from breakfast to dinner, handcrafting seasonal dishes using fresh local ingredients as often as possible.
