Despite all the good reviews my experience was quite different. The service was good and attentive however my main of ribeye steak was well overcooked (I asked for it med/rare) and not a particularly good cut of meat. Further the chunky chips would have been good but were massively over-salted and unpalalatable. Plus the sides are extra! Very poor value... More

Called for a light lunch & we were all pleased with the dishes chosen, very tasty & reasonably sized portions. Service was very good & there was a nice atmosphere complemented by comfortable seating. I have no hesitation in recommending this venue.

The waiting staff were attentive and careful in how and when they approached us throughout the meal. Our mains were delicious... More

Over a 45 year career, I have stayed in thousands of hotels for both business and leisure. The Potters Heron is truly unique. It’s the only hotel, anywhere in the world, where during a black tie dinner, I had to leave the table and queue at the bar for a refill of my drink. Bearing in mind that I paid... More

We chose The Potters Heron with a couple of friends of ours as it is quite close to our West Sussex home and looked attractive with a good residential price. The hotel has a great feel, the bar was cosy, the rooms clean, warm and comfortable. We received a friendly welcome from the receptionist and enjoyed a couple of good,... More

Booked for my company's Christmas dinner based on being local and having availability for 20 of us on the only Friday in December we could all make. The evening started a little shakily when the barman wasn't sure how to set up a tab for us and then we were shown to our table which was two tables even though... More
