My wife and I ordered the taster menu which was incredibly good. The waiting staff were very efficient and knowlegable about every dish served. The wine waiter was also very hel[ful in assiting us to chose the most appropriate wine for the meal. Attentative but discrete service. The proprietor did the rounds of tables as did the Chef. The food was exquisite and served with care and attention to detail. Courses were appropriate sizes, and the flavors complemented each other well from one course to the next. Inventiveness evident in each dish.

We had dinner at Don Alfonso 1890, a Michelin two-star restaurant in Sant' Agata, a small village outside of Sorrento. To say the least, the dinner and experience were delicious and incredible. We had the seven course Chef's tasting menu with wine pairing and they did not disappoint. Some of the courses we had, include: sausage of pezzogna with Candida... More

If you are visiting the Sorrento region and wish to experience a "once in a life- time" adventure, take the private cooking class with Nicola, the Sous-Chef and he will teach you and show you how to cook good food in Napoletan style- simple, but delicious. The quality of the food and service is a perfect match to the level of the hotel where it is located. Both of us ordered the tasting menu, which was vibrant, full of flavours. One of the dishes was the eggplant parmigiana, the best I have ever tasted, but all fish and meat dishes were also superb. Most of the... More

Don Alfonso cooking school is a delight. Organic farm & kitchen garden produce, imaginatively cooked with passion, delicious Mediterranean cuisine. My wife and I were traveling through Italy & France for 14 days. This was by far the best meal we had on our entire trip. Food, drinks, service were excellent. We also were taken on a tour of the 2,000+ year old wine cellar and were able to see the kitchen and meet the Chef. My wife and I... More
