We ordered too much first time we came here. Big beans in a gorgeous sauce, spinach pies, battered aubergine & courgette, tsatsiki, stewed mushrooms, and a couple more I can't remember. So good we went again to try the dishes we couldn't manage. Staff pleasant and helpful. Posh cloths on the tables. Smart loos. And all at a reasonable price.

We stayed in Paleochora in September and Captain Jims (Kapetan Dimitris) was our favourite restaurant. The food was delicious and we liked the fact that the main menu was quite short and the dishes changed daily. Everything we ate was perfect – highlights were some perfectly cooked sardines, the slow cooked lamb, an incredible stew of okra, tomato, mint and... More

Food here was good quality and typical menu for the area. The staff are young and with that came a sense of humour and interaction that was much appreciated. Good food good fun. Add to thta the beautiful warm evening and teh fantastic harbour ambience and you cannot do much better.

This has been my favourite restaurant and the nearest thing to fine dining in Paleochora for three years. The food is excellent and the vegetarian choice on the menu is vast. The crisp white tablecloths, the fine wines and very nice wine glasses , as well as super service have always made it a cut above the rest. This visit... More

We've eaten here several times for both lunch and dinner. It's a winner! The restaurant is right on the sea-front and is owned and managed by Eli (an English lady) and her Greek husband. The menu is really quirky with lots of unusual dishes. What we like most is the lite-bites and mezze content which is ideal for a light... More

One of our favourite places during our stay . The menu is amazing and every meal we had was cooked fresh , so many choices so we ordered lots of starters for a meze meal . Everyone was a delight , lambs liver in red onion sauce , sausages in beer , courgette balls , meatballs in tomato sauce ,... More

We ate here several times during our stay and despite that, there were still dishes on the menu that we really wanted to experience. We both love Greek taverna food, but after a while it can become a tad 'samie' however Kapetan Dimitris offers all the tastes and flavours of Greece but cooked and presented in a different, imaginative way.... Over the past two weeks I have eaten here about seven times. I have tried other tavernas in Paleochora but keep returning. Why? The food here is incredible-especially the starters. The dishes are simple but delicious-Greek food with a twist. They really think about the customer here. Courgette balls are delicious and are served with tzatziki (just a small thing... More

Our second visit to Paleochora. We love this little town's laid back beauty and we keep returning to this excellent restaurant with delicious freshly cooked food, gorgeous salads and amazing wines. The menu is varied and extensive enough to suit all tastes, the setting is lovely overlooking the harbour and beautiful coastline and the husband and wife team are so... More

We ate here several times and were not disappointed. The food was well cooked and absolutely delicious - I especially loved the vegetarian moussaka though I'm not a vegetarian. The wine was the best we tasted during our stay. The staff are helpful and efficient and the owners/chef Ellie and Dimitris are lovely. The location is great too - on... More
