Ok food, but not great. The vegetables they served were especially unimaginative. I don't think it's that hard to make vegetables taste great, but they certainly didn't manage. Also, as others have said, it was very cold in the restaurant!

Excellent food and service. Particularly enjoyed Roast Pheasant dish and plenty more treats on menu to try Local produce. Delicious!!

This is an unpretentious little place. It doesn't look much but the food was excellent. I had local caught scallops followed by salmon and crab - delicious. There is a decent wine-list. Louise was running the front-of-house show and did a fantastic job.

There were three of us, and both my friends had dietary problems in that on was gluten intolerant and the other was both gluten and lactose intolerant. The waitress was most helpful and educated about their requirements. The chef... More

We had Dinner ar the letterbox to celebrate our last day of our holidays in Scotland. The letterbox was a perfect place to so that. The meals were tasty and a mixture of traditional recepies and new ideas. We enjoy the meal and the very good and friendly service.

We ate at the Letterbox restaurant on our first evening in Newtonmore. The restaurant had a very good atmosphere, the staff were very attentive and the food was very good. Would definitely eat there again.

This might be some of the best food I've had! Sourced locally, gourmet, and not overly pricey ... Very nice ambiance down to the fresh rose on each table - I highly recommend!!!
