Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We have been here quite a few times before and loved the food thats why we went back today for my birthday. Unfortunately we were really disappointed in our meal. I had oysters kilpatrick which i was really looking forward too ( 6 for $26)...the oysters were tiny & very tastless. I was so looking forward to the fillet steak ($44) which was very tender but the meal was cold. My husband had the risotto which was nice but the calamarri entre was very ordinary. Our waitress was lovely but the food fell short. Such a shame & i doubt we will be back. For what we paid it just didnt live up to what we had experienced before. Helen BamfordMore

Came for dinner last night. This was always my go to place for beautiful lunch or dinner with friends. I have been many many times. The food was always fabulous. Well, what a bitterly disappointing meal it was last night. Definitely no chef working the...kitchen at the moment. Antipasto plate was very average. Some olives, stale bread and chargrilled vegetables. I ordered the eye fillet which was ok. Potato mash was good but vegetables soggy and overcooked. My husband had the calamari and it was very average. Sticky date pudding was lovely. Shiraz 2017 wine very nice. Sadly I will not be returning until they actually have a chef. Wait staff excellent. Venue fabulous. Hope you find a decent chef.More

We had a lovely, relaxing time at WCC. The accommodation inside is comfortable and very, very clean. Home from Home. Great welcome and complimentary chocolates and wine. However, something is amiss... maybe Covid struck this lovely place a bit hard. Grounds/maintenance need serious attention and...the Wi-Fi was not available to us. We had to walk down to the main area to get a signal. Annoying when it is advertised in the price. Outside furniture was rusty and uncomfortable. We couldn't sit on it. Such a shame as plenty of more decent stuff about. Curtains hanging off in bedroom. Needs TLC. As I say, lovely staff and we enjoyed but there are places at the same price with better and more cared for accommodation. Wishing them the Best of Luck xxxMore

A little worrying when a Yarra valley winery restaurant is nearly empty for lunch. This place is just a little strange. Very dated decor, a little sad to be honest. The wine is surprisingly good. The service friendly. But the food is just awful. Ordered...squid and empanada for entree which were both ok. Not great but ok. The slow cooked lab shoulder for main meal was indescribably bad. Inedible. All in all a new chef and some interior design advice would go a long way to bring this venue up to scratch. Until then I’d give it a miss.More

This was a real gem of a find! We had a lovely villa,. It was extremely clean and very spacious with a little deck to sit and enjoy our wine from our day exploring the valley. The king size beds were very comfortable and the...staff had also left us all the ingredients for a lovely breakfast. We also dined at the restaurant on site which was delicious. Very generous portions snd the staff were very friendly and attentive. The menu is also very accommodating for different dietary requirements. Overall it was a great visit, and we would definitely stay here again.More

Recommended by a friend who had visited a few years before, we stopped here for lunch on a Saturday arvo. Food and wine were great, and very reasonably priced compared to other places in Yarra Valley. I ordered the steak which was cooked perfectly. All...the meals were delicious. We sat outside with lovely view of the lake and had the sun shining down, it was lovely and peaceful. Service was great. Would recommend a visit.More

We have been going to Wild Cattle Creek Estate over many years on special occasions and have not been disappointed with the service or quality of food. This time was for our 49th Wedding Anniversary. We arrived and were seated in the window (as requested)...over looking the vineyard, a lovely Autumn day. Our waitresses were both professional and charming with a hint of 'cheeky' which was a delight. We started with 1 1/2 dozen Oysters Kilpatrick, not the biggest but very sweet and a bottle of bubbly. Main was Eye fillet steak, cooked to our perfection, a Paris mash and roasted brussel sprouts, superb! Desert was Bourbon Souffle with raspberry sorbet, delicious and cheese platter with fruits etc., followed with port and coffee. A long leisurely lunch with no pressure to have one meal after the other, but allowed to have breathing space between courses. We would recommend Wild Cattle Creek Estate for that special occasion or just for a relaxing lunch and very good service.More

Went there for our 60th wedding anniversary for something special but disappointed. Wife's steak was great, but my prawn dish was very disappointing. The sauce and the herbs spoiled the prawns. Introductory shared dish was 'something-nothing'. Generally, overpriced for what we got. Would not recommend...the place.More

Stayed at the Wild Cattle Creek Estate for a three day weekend. What a great little find. Extremely happy with our choice. Stayed in the self contained cottage. Absolutely spotless especially during this virus times. Bed were immaculate. Bathroom, toilet and kitchen were again immaculate....Feel like I never left home. Breakfast items as bacon, eggs, bread, yogurt and cereal etc were left for us to enjoy. More than enough amenities for our stay. Honestly cannot complain. Had dinner at the restaurant. My husband had the rib eye. Meal was very well done and presented and plentiful. As a food connoisseur highly recommend this place. Look forward to the warmer weather would actually book a couple of cottages to bring our family over for a weekend.More

Took my family here for Saturday Lunch and was extremely disappointed with the quality of food and the price we paid. Ordered the duck breast special for $38, all i received was two slices of duck breast that was overcooked with some cold puree. The...table also ordered the seafood platter, horrifically overpriced for what you receive. Lobster was dry/overcooked and then a whole lot of deep fried seafood. They also need a new chef to do the sauces as they were all horrible. On a plus the wine was nice!!More

Stopped in here for a Sunday afternoon glass of wine and was not disappointed! The staff were excellent and so friendly and this alone would make us return here. Had some bread and dips which were really nice and some lovely wines between us. We...really felt very welcome. I’m excited to return here and try lunch or dinner as the menu looked fabulous.More
