The estate put on a great feed on Saturday night after providing a magnificent backdrop for the marriage ceremony. Lovely food (not just the chicken or beef) and local wines to go with it. Very tasty

Lunch and wine tasting. Coolest part is reviewing menu then wine tasting to match wine with meal. Started with pork belly and second was gurnard. Both lovely tasting and presented well. Paired with reserve Chardonnay. Very good.
I was really grateful to be shifted from the cold draft under the air conditioning vent. Top marks for that customer service. We had lunch today and found the menu difficult to interpret, there are words but no information that indicates what will be on the plate. At times there is not much on the plate! A ham hock terrine... More
Thank you for your comments. I certainly do take your comments on board. Service was slow and not as engaging as we would normally strive for. Without offering excuses, things do wrong from time to time in restaurants. We rostered based on historical data and got caught out which impacted service on the day. I apologise that your experience in... More
This is a small restaurant compared with others in the Yarra Valley. It is very attractive and very inviting. The main attraction at Tarrawarra is the Art Gallery, opposite the restaurant, which has some first class exhibitions. The menu is very limited. It took me some time to decide what I would have. Service at the restaurant was rather slow... More
Thank you for taking the time to share your comments. It is always difficult to comment on perceived value for money as it is subjective and everyone has a different opinion. I will not go into the costs of flounder versus cost Rock Flathead, the cost of preparation of the fish, the accompanying pippies and sauce. Good quality, fresh produce... More
The setting was beautiful, the restaurant was perfect, everything told me this was going to be an enjoyable lunch. We started with the "Snacks While You Wait" which far exceeded our expectations. The ocean trout was so fresh and served with crackers. It was so pleasant and almost big enough to be a small entree. The chicken liver parfait was... More
Thank you for your comments. I am glad that your experience was such a good one. I appreciate your comments regarding the matching wine suggestions. We prefer not to have these written on the menu and prefer our staff to be able to talk you through the option. This obviously did not happen on your visit and I will follow... More
The oysters, lamb rump and profiteroles were all superb, as was the wine and the service. Six of us were dining, and we could not have been better taken care of.
Thank you for your feedback. Nice to hear that your experience was such a good one and we look forward to seeing you again. More
The setting is fabulous however it is not matched by the menu, wine selection nor service. Menu is extremely limited with odd combinations. If you like wooded Chardonnay then you'll like the wine selection. None in our party do, so choice was very limited. A real pity
Thank your for taking the time to share your comments. Being a Chardonnay and Pinot Noir producer in a region famed for Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, yes we do have large part of our wines dedicated to those varieties. Our restaurant is here to showcase the wines that we make here. Saying that however, it is a shame that you... More
Wanting a memorable venue in Regional Victoria we visited this 30 year old winery and was not disappointed with the choice. A timeless building of stone/treated concrete emerges from undulating fields of green; vineyards & grassland. We entered a sanctuary of muted colors & enjoyed a 2 course lunch of; lamb rump & belly, caramelized onion with beetroot salad followed... More

The service over all was slow even toward the end of the meal when the restaurant was half empty. The Brawn Croquette lacked flavour and was just warm. The Lamb had flavour and was tender but again was only just warm. The Ocean trout lacked identity. Given the experience they are apparently trying to create I think they failed.
Thank you for your feedback. I'm sorry that you felt the experience did not live up to your expectations. Your comments regarding the food, whilst a personal opinion, do concern me when you mention that it was only just warm, as do the slow service comments. I would love the opportunity to discuss this further with you. If you are... More
Really excellent wine and food in beautiful surroundings. The staff in the cellar door and the restaurant were very professional and so pleasant. Will be back again!
