Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Perfect country pub fare at a very reasonable price. We had a schnitzel and a parmi with lovely freshly cooked local veges from the bain marie. Went for the highly reputed roast but about 30 bikers from Melb had beaten us to the counter so...we missed out but were far from disappointed at our fall back option. True country hospitality and live music to boot.More

The Talbot pub is a true country pub, with a warm welcome from the publicans, a simple but changing menu and a great veggie bain marie. Mary's soups are delicious.

The food was nice but the noise was distracting and annoying. The staff were O.K. but nothing to write home about.

Had dinner on Friday evening. The food was most amazing. I had lamb shank my friend had rockling (fish). The vegetable Bain Marie was outstanding with at least 6 different vegetables and as much as was wanted including gravy. The staff were very friendly and...helpful. All in all a great experience.More

We had a meal at the Court House Hotel on the Friday night of our two night stay in Talbot . The Court House is a typical Australian country pub . It is run by three older gentlemen who are friendly and enthusiastic. We had...a drink in the front bar first then headed into the dining room . We were made to feel very welcome . It was a busy night but our meals were served quickly and were very much enjoyedMore

We had a delightful day at firstly the Talbot market and then wandered into the very welcoming Court House Hotel. I had the steak and my husband had the roast of the day. My T-bone was huge, cooked medium rare as ordered with a delicious...mushroom sauce. The veggies were buffet style. Terrific value, friendly service and tasty food. We'll be back. And on a side note, spotless toilets!More

Sometimes you are lucky enough to come across a country pub that makes you feel welcome... other times we have not been so fortunate. The Court House Hotel is a 'pearler'. Our group of eight ate, drank and stayed the night. First of all, hats...off to Mary the cook. The seafood platter was a hit with us all. Huge meal with a fresh, tasty side salads. Behind the bar, Reiny, Barry and Brett were the perfect hosts. Cold beer, a great range of Pyrenees wines all at very fair prices, and friendly banter with our group The motel is fairly basic, but clean, comfortable and offers a continental breakfast included in the price. We all agreed that we would love to come back.More

This looks like a simple standard Australian country pub with no fancy frills and it is that too but we had a delicious evening meal. My husband reported his rissoles with veg and mash was great and I asked for a vegetarian omelette and it...was perfect. Friendly helpful service and they were happy to cook me something not quite on the menu. (Vegetarian options on request at the bottom of the menu)More

Had a day out to go for lunch at this pub. Was so glad we did. Its a classic old country town pub that are all too frequently disappearing. The food was GREAT! We were the only ones for lunch on a cold winters day,...and the staff were so friendly. reef and beef steak was cooked to perfection, and a very full plate. (When I eat out I like to be well fed, not this half plate yuppy Masterchef crap). The pub has a real old country atmosphere to it, (but could possibly do with a lick of paint and some more historical things on the wall) but with friendly locals and a warm fire. To top it off the old town of Talbot is an absolute hidden gem of a town and well worth a wander. Do yourself a BIG favour and stop in here for a meal. Thanks for a great feed and top value.More

Do not go for the decor or brandy and dry (as they didn't have any brandy) Stick to the wine and food. Great pub food great prices and very enjoyable. Sunday roast is also very good.

Was a great pub when Erin was running the kitchen 2 owners ago, now its mediocre at best. But still a great improvement from the intermediate owner.

We have stopped here many times for meals and accommodation. A nice smallish country pub. Saw a man taking his calf for a walk down the street. This is an unusual country town. I would have liked to have bought a quick pie meal here...instead of a kitchen generated plate of food. Perhaps some gourmet pies could be introduced?More

I doubt it, there is the motel out the back. (But like other poster said, best to call and ask) but there is camping down the road at the recreation reserve. Or if you're adventurous there is lots of state forest nearby for... More
