Came here for dinner. Couldn’t book online so had to ring. Good welcome and choice of dishes. We had local soup (skillet), scallops, then had cod fillet. They hide not have the option of vegetable side dish so I had salad. We also had a...bottle of white wine. The sauce for the cod seemed to have tinned vegetables in along with bacon bits which was okay, but not brilliant. Cost was just over £105 which is expensive for what is good, but not brilliant food.More

Hello Mark, The sauce for the cod is made from a Brunoise of vegetables which is a french term for cubed vegetables. We are sorry you didn’t enjoy it and had you said we could have changed the dish for you. Kind regards, The cornerstone.

Beautiful food in an attentive family run restaurant. Highly recommend. Lovely view of the harbour and all the boats from the window.

We arrived in Mallaig by train on a very rainy day. Because of the weather and time of day, all the passengers from the train practically headed straight for the nearest restaurant. We proceeded on Main street downwards and spotted a second-floor restaurant that seemed...perfect for the weather. Indeed we had a table by the window and could look outside to the street and the harbor beyond. Being in Scotland already for a few days our Scottish friend suggested that we sample the local dish called Cullen Skinks..Indeed three of us had that, in addition to some small portions of appetizers. While the service was friendly and the atmosphere relaxed with no other diners, the food itself was a bit disappointing . The bill also seemed quite excessive for what we actually got.More

A nice friendly restaurant situated in the tiny fishing village of Mallaig. Helpful and accommodating owners. Good well cooked fresh fish. Slightly over priced hence the 4 out of 5 stars.

Had a lovely relaxed lunch overlooking the harbour. The burgers and accompaniments were just what we were after, and as we arrived about 1400 the daily influx of Jacobite Train tourists had departed.

Visited here for lunch while on the Jacobite train journey. As it was lunch we had more of a light bite. My partner order the pate I I ordered the mussels. Our server was a lovely women and service was great. The restaurant was spotless...and we both had empty plates. The mussels most definitely the best and freshest I have eaten. Must visit if in Mallaig.More

Got a breadcrumbed haddock and chips. Haddock was the best I've ever tasted, moist and flavoursome. The breadcrumb coating seemed like cross between batter and breadcrumb, in a really good way, and was fabulously crisp. Chips were delicious too. There are other fish and chip...shops in Mallaig but I would come back here every time. btw got really warm helpful service tooMore
