We turned up with no reservation at 6pm and were lucky to get a table on Easter Day for 5: 2 adults and 3 kids aged 4,7&9. Very child friendly with kids menu and plenty of books and colouring stuff. Menu itself offers good variety but be warned that portions are absolutely huge and 2 adults can easily share a... More

You need a big appetite at this pub, portions are Large, beautiful food, a bit pricey, but the food is freshly cooked for you. Olde world type pub. Short walk from Worth house. Well worth a visit.

Was recommended this place by a few people as so say food is amazing. We dined on a Sunday night and had garlic bread and stuffed mushrooms with pate to start. Both starters were massive portions!! Way too much. GB was lush however, the batter on the mushrooms just tasted of stale fat fryer oil. For mains we had a... More

Really good food, excellent real ale, good prices, friendly staff. A mixture of locals and visitors to the area, traditional skittle alley at the rear of the pub.

Came here for a girls get together that we have been promising ourselves since before Christmas. The main course was fantastic. We all had something different and all sent back empty plates. The dessert course unfortunately was a little disappointing for some of us. Cheese Board is not on the regular menu but one was made up specially for one... More

Lovely menu and food in this pub. We went to eat 3 nights cos it was so good. Two nights we had starters - squid & prawns - so fresh & hot. Wonderful fresh salad garnish - with lovely dressing & finished with mature balsamic. For mains we had steak - delicious, served on a sizzler. Pork Belly - really... More

We turned up on a Friday night without booking, the young lady behind the bar made us very welcome whilst checking if we could be accommodated, we were given a table when one was available and again made very welcome. Our food was very nice and drinks were reasonably priced overall a very good evening, thank you.

Stayed in Wookey for a couple of nights on business and went to The Pheasant on both nights after a local recommendation. The food there is just fantastic, and listening to everyone around me, that was the same experience had by everyone! I had a steak pie one night and the Cajun chicken the other, both great home cooked food.... More
