Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Asian bloke out front refused me entry because I was “drunk”. Hadn’t had any drinks that night, asked him for clarity on the refusal. He maintained the idea that drunk people don’t ask twice, yet here I was sober asking why I wasn’t allowed into...the venue. Venue itself is fine, as I have gone many times, never have I dealt with this person before. He’s out of his depth, and when I was questioning him, he was denying heaps of people for no reason. Massive ego trip.More

We booked a table on the balcony, and the money was taken from the card immediately - not just held in case we were a no-show. When we arrived there was no table reserved and we were told to sit anywhere. The floor was filthy....It was so sticky we watched people leave their shoes behind whilst walking. We ordered some food and it took a very long time for it to arrive - despite others ordering afterwards and receiving theirs. It turned out it was delivered to another table. We received no acknowledgement for this or apology. The food when it did arrive was good. The drinks menu was good. We will not return. Not worth it for the effort and the cost when the area is full of better places to eat and drink.More

We met friends at Public House for drinks and food on Sunday evening. The bar was not too busy so no excuse for serving teriyaki aubergine undercooked hard and very oily, with little flavour. I spent an uncomfortable night with indigestion. Not difficult to cook...aubergine but need to cook it until soft in an oven.More

Went for a few afternoon drinks at the rooftop bar. The view was wonderful and the decor of the pub was great. Service was adequate but not over friendly. Also we were moved several times to cater for reservations. There are plenty of sports televisions...and prices are normal for this type of venue. Pub food is available.More

Security at the door were disgustingly rude and discriminated against my friends outfit which was a collared shirt, dress pants and a leather jacket saying she looked like she was in pyjamas! They insulted her so much that she cried and felt ashamed of what...she was wearing! It was awful considering they let the rest of us in wearing hoodies and tracksuit pants (which matches their dress code less than her). I CAN NOT BELIEVE THAT IN THIS DAY AND AGE SOMEONE IS MADE TO FEEL ASHAMED OF EXPRESSING THEMSELVES IN A RESPECTFUL MANNER!! The security guards that served us were 076 and 88! when trying to discuss the matter with them they became defensive and said that I called them ‘fashist and misogynistic’ - their words not mine- sad they would come up with words that explain their actions and use them against us! All round disgusting, lying and awful behaviour from people who are meant to respect and keep us safe!More

Went for a nightcap at the Public House. Service was ok and prices reasonable but the decor and ambience were average. There are plenty of other hotels in the area which are of better quality.

Had dinner with a group here the other night and the we all raved about the different dishes that we had. The service was a bit spasmodic but nice with it, but the main event was the food.

Not too bad. Had some nice beers on tap as well. Still, nothing that really stood out, though the service was rather friendly.

We enjoyed beautifully cooked and presented Moroccan Spiced Lamb and Crisp Pork Belly with a side of Fries, along with a lovely bottle of Shaw and Smith Sauvignon Blanc. Fast and friendly service. Outdoor seating on Church St perfect for a sunny day.

Lamb cutlets were divine, just a little pink but well cooked. Lemon dessert perfectly tart, not too sweet. Others on my table tried the pork belly and salt and pepper calamari - were equally delighted.

I had a group of mates inside already and even though I was wearing a tommy hilfiger shirt and nice pants I wasn't allowed in because my shoes were too casual. Right afterwards a bloke with ripped jeans got in.... Please Explain. Almost ruined my...night. Thank you the not so public house!More

We visited as a result of a living social Deal. Amazing value, two small, two larges, a shared side and a shared desert plus two hours beverages for around $60pp. We didn't cash in our voucher for some time, which is probably why we were...the only luncheon diners. I will say we had a stunning meal, before I deal with the downsides. The outside is not at all welcoming, when we arrived and my husband said this is it, I grimaced. Dirty unwelcoming concrete facade. The waiter was friendly and knowledgeable, and being the only ones there! Entree for my husband was the scallops, I am always dubious of this dish in an unknown location. OMG! They came out an absolute picture of presentation, and I was lucky enough to be able to sample a few mouth fulls, they were juicy and succulent, and the accompanying sauce was amazing. My husband declared them to be the best scallops he had ever had, and I could not really dispute this. I trod the safe path with S & P calamari, my all time favourite. This serve did not disappoint, HUGE, even with the help of husband, could not finish. But they were crispy on the outside and yummy inside. I have had better dipping sauces, but I am being picky. Mains, duck for me - fabulous, wagyu for other half, we were both impressed. Just too much The deserts were probably not appreciated as much as in normal circumstances we would not have bothered. But the mouse with salted caramel was MMMMMMMM But on the down side the decor is kinda awful, it looks dirty. It is dated and tired and needs a total revamp. Such a shame that the talents of this chef, and great wait staff, are wasted here.More

Dined here last Thurs night with a Living Social voucher. Great value as deal was for 2 small plates, 2 large plates, side to share, dessert to share and a drink each, all for $59. For small plates we got the pork & ginger dumplings...and southern fried chicken – both were very tasty. For large plates we got the confit lamb shoulder and crisp roasted pork belly. The pork belly was delicious and very tender however we were disappointed with the lamb shoulder. It was super salty and it seemed it had an olive stuffing/centre so that ruined it for us, lamb has its own delicious flavour which was overpowered by this saltiness. For our shared side we had green beans with parmesan and for dessert we shared the public house chocolate box which was tasty and a good way to end a good meal. Service was friendly however we were surprised by the high number of staff working to the minimal number of tables. We could see all the staff sitting at the bar taking turns in eating a meal and being on their phones – more professional for this to be done out of customer sight isn’t it? Overall great value deal with mostly tasty food.More

Dined at this bar/restaurant early on Saturday evening. Friendly staff did an excellent meet and greet. Front bar is lively and welcoming, restaurant is on ground floor at the back. Restaurant has a warm cosy atmosphere with good attention to detail - table clothes covered...with butchers paper, fresh flowers, candle lit dining. Food was excellent soft shell crab rolls and pork & ginger dumplings for starters. Made a mistake of ordering two sides with the mains - chat potatoes arrived early and were well cooked and hot with dipping sauce irresistible but filling. Mains were the Confit Lamb Shoulder and Crispy Pork Belly both beautifully cooked and presented - only complaint a struggle to finish (due to the spuds). Found room to share a chocolate box desert. All in all a very satisfying dining experience. Will be back. Of and some good choices of beer and wine.More
