The owner of the venue was extremely rude. What was going to be a nice a relax dinner with friends turn into a unnecessary drama. WILL NEVER BE BACK AT THIS HORRIBLE PLACE

We had such a fabulous night of vegetarian and non vegetarian food, drinks and cocktails with the staff looking after us so well. Ryan in particular was an amazing host at our table as he joined in with our chats and laughter. Being a vegetarian,...the eggplant and tofu dish was just sooooo mouthwatering, left me wanting more and more.More
What a fabulous review thank you so much 🙏🏼
Cochin never fails to deliver. Had a takeaway today due to lockdown. Can only collect which means food is always hot. So tasty and good balance between spice and chilli. Added bonus today, 2 free creme caramels. Thank you Cochin staff.
Lovely Restaurant with great attendance by staff. We picked the Banquet with Chef choosing for us and the food was delicious. Loved the Vietnemese French fusion- would definitely come again.
We ate here as a three before an MCG game and none of us were overly enthusiastic. Didn’t quite get the Vietnamese/ French fusion thing but am well aware of the historical connection in Vietnam. The dishes we had didn’t sing of Vietnam, nor France,...places all three of us have visited. No Vietnamese splash of herbs, chilies, lime or fish sauce in the beef and Vietnamese veggies we ordered and it’s what I would have expected in a Chinese style place. The lightly seared salmon special was difficult to eat as no knife was provided. Yes we were informed about the somewhat sashimi cooking but we were expecting thin slices rather than the full hulking fillet which was a difficult swallow. Not real cheap and will probably look elsewhere before a game next time Could have been a bad night and everything was perfectly edible.More
Not sure why this restaurant reviews so highly. I had high hopes based on reviews and took my family here for dinner. The venue is dark with minimal lighting and while I can see the look they're trying for it fell short and has little...if any ambience. The food is average and overpriced. The pork and duck curry main dishes were the highlights but at close to $40 each I expected a lot more flavour. The wait staff were slow off the mark and while it improved throughout the evening it just took too long - especially when they weren't that busy. The food is okay but if you want great Asian food try Longgrain or Gingerboy.More
We were here on a recommendation and not disappointed! Service impeccable, humour appreciated, food excellent, what more can we say? Come early and enjoy 😉
Thank you! We really appreciate the recommendation and love that you enjoyed your Cochin experience. We hope to see you again!
An unplanned delight After trying many many places to get in we were luck enough to get in for an early dinner for 6. Of. Hs. Only to find out very late in the afternoon that we were in fact a 4. Being a fellow...restaurant owner. It was very unfair to not give them the courtesy call Sonia was so understanding The service was very slow at the start and with Cov19 restrictions we only have 2.5 hours. And it was a Saturday set menu However the staff and the food was clean , so thoughtfully paired and balanced , and course after course was simply brilliant Sonia and her team. Made it a very special night and M had her favorite cocktail. Off list. And it was the best she has ever had “big call “ Sonia. We will be back Thank you for making it a very special night and for spoiling. M and her menu requestsMore
Wow guys... thank you so much!!!! Oh the joys of a COVID dining restricted climate! But thank you... what an awesome review for us to reflect upon... so glad you guys enjoyed yourselves at Cochin. Thank you!!!!
Always cater well to groups here - delicious food, efficient unobtrusive service and reasonable value. We always enjoy dinners at Cochin!
Terrific service, amazing food and awesome venue for lunch- be it group’s or a few people, food tasty and just perfect for all courses, definitely heading back!
Absolutely fantastic, food was fresh and beautifully prepared and presented. Very attentive service. Can’t recommend this restaurant highly enough.
We had an amazing meal tonight. The duck and Pinot selection was so different to anything else I’ve had at other restaurants. I loved the duck and cherry pie while we all had different favourites. The paired wine had been selected well and our waiter...really put a lot of attention into explaining the characteristics of the wine and our meals. Perfect timing too for all courses. The restaurant ambience was excellent and background music non invasive. One of the best meals we’ve had in Melbourne recently. Well definitely return.More
Nice place. Good service. Food was ok. Lemon Grass tart was good. Excellent Gluten Free options. Close to public transport, and if you drive, give some time to find a car park. CCs accepted.
There are so many well rated restaurants on Swan Street but Cochin stood out for its mix of good/different food. Very friendly and helpful service throughout, a fairly logical wine list and sparkling water charged for simply, not as a way to boost margin. We...cheated and went for (were guided into) the “Feed me” option. A simple three course feed that was nice but didn’t really showcase the best of the menu. Next time, and there definitely will be one, we will choose what appeals instead. We left feeling we chose the right place to dine but sort of knowing we could have eaten better if we had made the effort.More
Cochin had a special menu item for fathers day which we had and loved. It was a slow roasted beef eye fillet served with a great variety of roast veges and two delicious sauces. This was followed by a delicious creme brulee. The service was...friendly and attentive and I will definitely be back. Thank you Cochin.More
