We had a very enjoyable experience, Good quality food on a very extensive menu. The staff were very attentive and helpful. The ordering system is a little unusual in that you order from an iPad which shows pictures of the food items and a description. And to top it off reasonable prices. You can order off a waitress but we... More

They have a good range of dishes all reasonably priced. It is hard to recommend a particular dish because the names are a little hard to remember. The chicken dishes and the dumpling dishes we had were excellent. The service is fine and corkage is $15 per bottle. The only annoying aspect was having to order individually on an ipad... More

We visited Maedaya as a group of 4 and had great fun selecting food from the ipad menu and ordering system. You're presented with this ipad once seated and just pick what you'd like to eat and the order goes straight through to the kitchen. All plates were brought out in no particular order and was a good way to... More

Food is very average, yet expensive (for what its worth). Saw a review stating that its "the best japanese food in Melbourne" & disagree completely.

We were impressed by the easy way ordering through a tablet, like shown in my photos, with helping pictures of all options. Beside that there was nothing impressive about the food. I've had much better sushi in my life. We really enjoyed the options on the stick though. Expensive and the kitchen closes too early for dinner.

Great restaurant such fast service. Awesome system that you can order of an iPad. One of the largest sake collections and a great range of Japanese drinks. Every time we come they always have something new and amazing on the menu.

The quality of food is very average. Had the age dashi tofu, teriyaki chicken and various taste plates. I would say there are much better options in the area for dinner and definitely better Japanese elsewhere

Unfortunately the cost of corkage offsets the lovely food. $15 - per bottle. I won't be back for such a ripoff.

I went to Maedaya with my family, the restaurant was nice, and food came out very quickly. We ordered the Dragon roll sushi, grilled salmon, yakitori, and eel with pepper sauce. There was not much variety in terms of sushi. There were only 2 or 3 types of sushi rolls, and no raw fish sushi. A broader range of sushi... More
