De Bortoli Yarra Valley Estate is a vibrant, family friendly winery, overlooking the valley's rolling hills and less than an hour's drive from Melbourne. Our restaurant is currently open for lunch Thursday - Mondays inclusive from 12.00pm and Saturday evenings from 6pm for dinner. The Cellar Door is open 7 days a week from 10am - 5.00pm. Bookings are recommended.

Great menu, great food and great service in the restaurant. Spent $700 for six people including drinks. Disappointingly, went downstairs for a wine tasting and was told it would cost $15 / head despite already having spent $700 ! All other wineries where I have had lunch would waive that fee. On principle our group left without the tasting.

Friendly and knowledgeable service matched with fresh, delicious produce and wine. Entrees were delicious. The waygu carpaccio was very tasty and the ocean trout was light and delicious.The perfect way to begin. Generous main meals. Fusilli squid ink pasta consisted of fresh seafood and the murray cod was fresh and cooked well accompanied with a generous portions of roast potatoes and greens.. We enjoyed this with an amazing De Bortoli rose and left satisfied and very content. Overlooking the gorgeous vineyards and delightful gardens, a relaxing experience and ideal way to spend a Sunday lunch indeed.

We went to the restaurant at the vineyard for Mothers Day with one mother, one grandmother and various family members. Set in a great location over the vineyard we were then treated to the menu of the new Chef. The food was excellent, service was prompt and friendly without being obtrusive and of course the wines were excellent. Can't recommend this place enough for a special family gathering or special couples meal...

Took visitors for Sunday lunch,setting still welcoming,staff young and barely trained. We hadn’t been here since Covid and the food was unrecognisable. Mean tasteless crudo fish entree,followed by twice cooked cheap cut chicken doused in a cloying vinegar and sugar sauce. Really disgusting. The pasta came out grey. Off putting. An icecream almost saved the day.

The De Bortoli restaurant is worth a visit if you’re in the Yarra valley. The impressive entrance, friendly and welcoming service and absolutely delicious food was great. It was very busy so definitely recommend booking a table.

Special Mother's Day lunch with daughter on Monday 1pth May 2021
I have not been before but my daughter and partner have been a few times and love it as their special place.
We arrived and were greeted by a staff member (Jervis, sorry if spelling is wrong) and a big smile. He showed us to a table for two in the window surrounded by trees with little wrens flying back and forth.
We had the 2 course meal plus the bread with oil and butter, my daughter has special dietary needs and this was no trouble as chef is very considerate of people with special dietary needs. I had the Cone Bay barramundi, lentils, cavolo nero, preserved lemon, followed by A selection of cheeses, served with fresh fruit, fruit paste, candied walnuts and flatbread crackers, a glass of Syrah and Soy latte to finish off, delicious!
My daughter had a special dish cooked by the chef, which was gluten free pasta with vegetables and a special sauce that she is able to eat, followed by Affogato
Espresso, vanilla gelato, black noble one, a glass of Frangelico liqueur.
On leaving we both received 2 x small bottles of wine in a presentation bag which was a delightful surprise.
I would recommend going to visit De Bortoli Wines Restaurant if you are looking for good food, excellent 5 star service, beautiful ambience and relaxing view from inside looking out, some lovely music in the background just added to the day.

What a great dining experience fantastic three course lunch supported with beautiful accompanying wines served by an outstanding young lady called Jasmine.
Although only working there since January she had a deep knowledge of the menu and the wines and a very caring thoughtful nature that will hold her in good stead as her confidence grows with experience.
This was just a great experience and I highly recommend it .

A beautiful Spring day, picturesque views of the vineyards from the restaurant and first class food. What more could you wish for?
We visited here as a result of winning a meal from De Bortoli's in a golf club raffle and it proved to be a wonderful prize. We chose the 3 course lunch with matching wines. Every dish was a winner. The chef and the staff deserve lots of praise for making our lunch so enjoyable... and the wines too!

My wife and I had an outstanding wine tasting and dining experience at De Bortoli with 2 of our friends. Booking the lunch and wine tasting was very simple. We arrived on time and were immediately taken to a tasting table by our host David. He provided us with an outstanding tasting experience, varying from the standard tasting list as he discerned our preferences. De Bortoli has a good range of wines and it was easy to find quite a few that we really liked. We then moved upstairs to the restaurant where the excellent service continued as we were served a delicious meal. Having decided our mains, I went back to discuss with David in the cellar door what wine would be best to try with the food. We had an excellent red blend. Starters, mains and desserts were excellent. After we finished lunch, we moved back to the cellar door to make some purchases and David insisted on us tasting some of the premium reds that he thought we might like - as a result he "upsized" our purchases but we were very happy to do so.

4 of us had lunch while on a holiday trip. Staff were outstanding, friendly and efficient. Food was excellent, my wife and I shared the Chicken Crown which was succulent and moist and the wine was a perfect accompaniment. Absolutely a great choice but do allow lots of time as there is no rush and it is on the expensive side.

Saturday night two course fixed menu and a bottle of in-house Chardonnay made for a foodie treat
A venison terrine was sharp and mature. Grilled octopus perfect Excellent bread
Mains of a perfectly pan fried crispy skinned kingfish in a lemon butter sauce perfection. The duck breast pinkish and fully flavoured and sauced.
Desserts and coffee were equally good.

I was there with my wife and friends and we took the $5 tasting option. Stephanie was awesome. She is friendly and helpful. She introduced and explained the different types of wine to us as well how to taste. It was the first time I tried tawny at a wine tasting!
My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed the tasting and I also bought a wine!

I loved their wines and had the cheese outside on the lawn. Beautiful. However, I rang several weeks ago to ask if they could if their restaurant was dog friendly as it had outside tables. The employee I spoke to said that due to the unpredictable Melbourne weather (heat, high winds, possibility of no shade umbrellas) it would be best if I booked a table inside AND LEFT MY DOG IN THE CAR. Every week on the news, I see a report of a dead dog or a dead child due to heat from being left in the car during a Melbourne summer. Please do not advise customers to leave anything alive in the car during summer.

Thank you for your comments about your recent experience here. I am sorry that we weren't able to accommodate you on the day and you are right, that was not the response you should have been given. I have had dogs all my life and understand your concern whole-heartedly. We do welcome dogs to our property and have a space on the outside terrace for visitors to bring their dogs, as well as many areas in the garden. All we ask is that dogs are kept on leads for the safety and comfort of other guests.
I will certainly follow up with our staff regarding your comments.

What a wonderful experience! Apparently the second largest family owned winery, De Bertoli instills passion and beauty into their wines. Although they are known for their Noble One dessert wine they have an assortment of top shelf gorgeous wines. Gail was amazing keeping up with all of our questions we had about the wine as our tasting began. Once other customers came along she got very busy and Joe graciously took over our tasting and went above and beyond with his knowledge of even the specific clones of the Pinot Noir grapes that they have growing. We can’t wait to enjoy our amazing bottles we got. If you enjoy Noble One the Noble One Black is a must try and if you are a true wine lover then the premium Lusatia Pinot Noir will blow you away.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our 2 course lunch at Locale Restaurant. We were given a lovely table next to a window and the service was personable and very efficient. Our food was outstanding (main and dessert) and the wines very enjoyable. We had a couple of conversations with the manager and she certainly made us feel very welcome. We would definitely recommend for a special occasion.
