I asked a police officer for a good place to eat, and he recommended Carmita's. I was not disappointed, and ended up eating there twice. The grilled fish plate was excellent, and the portion was well worth the price. The next night I tried the Shrimp Encocado, which was okay, but not what I was hoping for. I would definitely... More

This is a good place to eat right on the Malacon the food is good and the Chef (Mother) come out and meets you. I like their fish and chips and the servings are generous.

We had a couple of meals at this restaurant and the food was great. Try the seafood soup and the octopus salad. Both great but a giant thumbs up to the mixed seafood soup. Best soup ever!!!!

The location is perfect. The food is pretty good. The langostinos and fries are excellent. Service is sometimes slow and it gets hot if you are not seated on the outside perimeter. Ate here often and never got sick, so i suppose that says something. Now with the new malecon this is a pretty good stop.

This place was recommended to us from locals in Puerto Lopez, In fact it was filled with locals when we went. We thankfully were able to be seated at the last table still open when we arrived. This is a place to go if you want Well prepared Ecuadorian Coast style Sea food dishes. No more no less. The seafood... More

Food wasn't out of this world for the price. Seems like the cater to tourists. I'm not saying the food was bad by any means but for what i paid I expect way better 9$ for fried shrimp I can get those prices in the states. I also had much better in town for much less. If it was 6-7$... More

$9 which is slightly pricey for a plate here, but the fish came covered in claims, mussels, and shrimp. The shrimp salad was also good but pretty drenched in dressing (maybe ask for it on the side). Wow! Recommended to us by the very very friendly waiter, whom had excellent service:) delicious local platter!

Carmita's serves well-prepared typical Ecuadorian food. The portions are generous and the seafood is always fresh. My favorite dish is rice with seafood and vegetables. It's nicely seasoned and the shrimp is some of the freshest I've ever had. The staff are friendly and willing to accommodate special requests. I definitely recommend this restaurant.

We had a nice typical local-style fixed menu lunch (almuerzo). The service was fast and efficient, and the food was well-prepared.

Dined here a couple of times now, bilingual menu, friendly waiter, Carmita brought the wifi password card without asking. And oh yeah, great "seafood mixto" lunch with an amazing view of the ocean.
