Description
This restaurant is in the Club house of the Slocan Golf Course 2 miles north of New Denver BC. It was recommended to us by the Visitors Bureau. We drove up there and were a little sceptical when we saw the club house. Yes, they have plastic tables, plastic chairs BUT they have the most wonderful food I have eaten in a long while. My husband and I both had the Steak Tenderloin, served with homecut fries, beautiful fresh garden salad with an oil/vinigrette house dressing. The steak was so tender that you really didn't need a knife. When I asked what kinds of wine they had by the glass - expecting the usual "red & white" non-descript wine I was pleasanlty surprised when the waitress said "come up to the bar and look at all our bottles" - I thought they must be sold by the bottle as there was some very very good wines on display but they were all sold by the glass - what a wonderfu surprise!. The dessert choice was excellent - I chose the profiteroles,my husband the decadent baked brownie with ice-cream. The club house is situated up on a hill and on one side of the restaurant you have an unobstructed view of down Slocan Lake and on the other side a lovely view down the freeway. It was a very pleasant dining experience and I would highly reccommend anyone to eat here. The chef is French and is more than willing to oblige your tastes.
