My first time here, took 10 minutes for us to be seated, we were told the gentleman was on his way. Drinks arrived quickly. Waited about half an hour to order food. Starters came after 40 minutes and was nice. Main course followed an hour later and was not worth the wait. Turkey wasn't proper turkey, roast potatoes looked like... More

Make no mistake, the Duke is a great pub and welcomes locals and visitors alike. It can be lively, especially on a match day, and when there is live music, but it's big enough to find a space. We've eaten at the Duke a few times and have always enjoyed the good quality, good value traditional dishes on offer. We... More

Both myself and girlfriend had the afternoon off work so decided to do a spot of shopping and maybe grab something to eat whilst in Cowbridge. We chose the Duke as we have been there many times over the last 20 odd years and had a late lunch there. We were not disappointed! I ordered the SA Brains Gold sausages... More

As my Mother lives very near to the Duke of Wellington, I visit here, everytime I visit Cowbridge. I have lovely meals, and would highly recommend this restaraunt. The drinks are also quite good.

We arrived with positive thoughts , the downstairs restaurant was pleasant and the staff exceptionally good , our meals arrived and we were all somewhat disappointed with them, I had duck with noodles , ok you can argue that I had just that ! a bowl wth a duck leg and watery noodles no side salad no trimmings, the other... We had a great late lunch as part of the £10.95 for 2 courses offer. For starter we had the superfood salad with avocado, beetroot, leaves and seeds and for main we had one faggots, mash and peas and the kale & squash risotto. Both courses were delicious and freshly cooked. As the portions weren't huge we decided to add... More

Visited here recently with my girlfriend, we had two of the home made soups which came with welsh salted butter and rustic bread. We managed to grab a seat by the fire place aswel so we were warmed from the inside out! Beautiful little pub! Would definitely return! :)

I have visited the Duke of Wellington on a number of occasions over the last year mainly for a Sunday afternoon drink and a bite to eat. The service is great and the Sunday roast is lovely as well as reasonably priced. The atmosphere is very informal and welcoming (even for non regulars like us!) Nice place. Will definitely visit... This is a very nice pub to visit in the main street, not the cheapest pub but very upmarket, excellent food and real ales. The lounge area is very classy and welcoming.
