What an amazing restaurant. The food and decor were amazing. Reasonably priced too. The wine was excellent as were the staff and the service. Cannot recommend this place enough. Top draw.

We recently spent an evening at the Market Place with our son and his fiancée. We were lucky that there had been a cancellation at the restaurant because we had not reserved a table before arriving. What a lovely experience. I had the warm prawn cocktail, followed by the halibut and Bailey's panacotta. The table service was excellent. It was... More

Always enjoy coming here, the staff are attentive and very polite with first class service. and so professional. the wine is a tad overpriced for what it is but the food makes up for that. Always well cooked and well presented. They put on wonderful entertainment evenings with Opera or Jazz evenings a regular feature at a set head price... More

This place located in Cowbridge high street is a tourist trap. The food is very average. They are tying to be a fine dinning place. They can't just pull it off. Can't wait to charge you enough. We had the beef it was tasteless. My wife had the pork. Very average. Our bill came to over fifty pound for Sunday... More

Coming from London we stumbled across The Market Place and were blown away. Great food, well presented, great atmosphere and on a par with any restaurant in London. Will most definitely be returning.

This restaurant always surpasses expectations. The warmth of the welcome, the quality of the food - none of it can be surpassed within several miles' radius. Quite outstanding.

I have been to this restaurant on many occasions and it's always been very good. This occasion it was their lunchtime fixed menu which £19.95 for 3 courses. For a starter I had the crispy pickled egg which was tasty and the presentation to was excellent. For the main I had the pork tenderloin wrapped in bacon with chorizo, feta... More

Greeted on arrival by a very pleasant young man and shown to the others in the group.( I was dinning alone within the group . others were all couples) . Very nice décor and atmosphere. The meal was served on time and the food was hot (where appropriate) The food was well presented and I could taste the food. (... More

Two good things about this restaurant the staff and the food. The staff are friendly and helpful while all the while giving the place an air of sophistication. The menu is uncluttered and has limited options - this is a great plus. Every choice is delicious and worth having. The wine list has some super options too. We had a... More

Description
Our restaurant is set in one of the most historic buildings in the beautiful town of Cowbridge, and exudes a timeless atmosphere. In winter we continue the old traditions with our warming log fires, and summer brings outdoor dining in our lovely walled garden. We offer a wide variety of freshly prepared modern European dishes, locally sourced and carefully arranged by classically trained chefs. We offer a fixed price lunch menu, £15.95 For two courses, and an "Early Supper" menu served from 18:00 - 18:55 Wed. - Fri. Which at £15.95 offers a great value way to sample our fantastic food or if you prefer we also have our fantastic Ala Carte menu .The Market Place has become a bye-word for the best in food, dining and ambience.
