Found this little gem on trip advisor while looking for a lunch spot today while visiting relatives in Borstal. An old quaint pub, spotlessly clean (inc the toilets) charming staff and amazing food, well served with a smile. The place was warm and we were not rushed and at the end was surprised by a very reasonable bill. Thoroughly recommend... More

Visiting The Tudor Rose today for the first time, for a Sunday lunch, was a lovely experience. The pub was quaint, warm & welcoming in a historic, atmospheric setting and the staff helpful and attentive. The menu offered a great variety of dishes and we very much enjoyed our Sunday roasts with all the trimmings and lovely desserts - rhubarb... More

Thought we'd pop into the Tudor Rose for a nice little lunch... we was greeted however we wasn't made to feel very welcome, maybe it's because we had a buggy (and we did knock a drink over) which my mum offered to clear up. A lady replied oh dear and just walked off before coming back with a mop. Accidents... More

Thank you for your review, first of all we are very family friendly the pub has always got buggys parked somewhere and my 3 grandkids are running around somewhere ,when someone knocks a drink over they normally get a cheer, the lady had to walk off! to get the mop, if you had asked for a high chair, they are... Sunday roasts are absolutely spot on with taste and presentation and the puddings are to die for. Will definitely be returning in the near future. Staff were excellent and very polite. Would recommend easy 5☆

Lovely, quaint little pub. We'd already eaten but the place was packed with diners. Very deceptive from the outside, it has a lovely big garden at the rear which has a barbecue for the summer. Landlord was friendly too. We'd definitely go back.

Just popped in yesterday for a quick drink. What a lovely quirky PH. The menu looked lovely but we had already eaten but we were made to feel very welcome and will be back for a bite to eat another day.

Popped in after a walk around the lovely village. An excellent pint of whitstable pale ale with friendly atmosphere topped off by tasty bar snacks (free little touch) made it a great spot to spend an afternoon. Didn't eat a meal but will be back to try the menu soon. So often now I have to ask for ice, slice... More

Staff are lovely Food was average. We ordered the roast and It came out within literally 5-10 minutes which makes me think they're just heated up? :( The walls were filthy and needed a good clean!

Thank you for your review, I hate to disillusion you but when you go to mummys or any where else for Sunday lunch they have been preparing it for about 4 to 5 hours so that its ready to go when you sit down ,we apologise for being too efficient . As for the walls the pub is cleaned daily... More

This was our first visit to the Tudor Rose for Sunday lunch and certainly won’t be our last. Some friends had recommended it to us and we had reserved a table as it can get very busy. It is a lovely olde-worlde pub steeped in history and in a pleasant location close to Upnor Castle. As soon as we walked... More

I have eaten here a few times and enjoyed the well cooked food, I visit with friends for a drink on a regular basis because of the enjoyable atmosphere chatting with the locals and bar staff. It has been tastefully decorated in the four years of so, but kept in character as much as you can. I will certainly visit... More
