This place may not look very attractive at a first glance, it’s very simple, but we had one of our best meals in Tuscany there. I adored the cheese soufflé and the chocolate cake with pepperoncino is a must! The owner is very friendly and...service is impeccable. Ask the owner for his recommendation of the wine - we had a great rosso for a very reasonable price. A must visit on your way to Montalcino!More

We had an amazing lunch here after touring and tasting at Mate Winery nearby. It was charming, the wait staff kind and food delicious.

We were recommended to come here by the owner of one of the smaller Brunello vinyards nearby. Our pasta courses with water at lunchtime were less than ten euros per head. But the food was outstanding; simple flavours, perfectly cooked. Quite an outstanding meal and...better than all the more expensive meals we had. Very highly recommended. Great gnocchi and tagliatelle with duck ragu, in particular. But our party of nine had nine outstanding meals. The owner of the villa we are staying at later told us this is one of his favourite restaurants within twenty-five miles. We know why. Thank you.More

My friend found this restaurant because it’s around 30 minutes drive away from the famous trees in middle of the landscape of Val d’Orcia. We arrived a few minute to early and the restaurant looked closed. But entering the door, we could take place near...the airco. The menu is in Italian, so we had to translate with google translator. But the owner could also speak some English. All the dishes my friend and I ordered was delicious. Very rich of taste and not to salty. I ordered duck in orange sauce and pistachio nuts: petto anatra arancia. My friends also ordered pasta with asperges, beef with salad and beef stew with mash potato. My duck was refreshing and bit sweet. I really can recommend it. Unfortunately I forgot to make a picture of it. And because we were with 8 people, it took a while before we got our dishes. But it was worth the wait. Good normal portions for a nice price.More

We spent the morning driving through the hill towns and had worked up quite an appetite. We arrived approximately 45 minutes before their afternoon closing and were worried we wouldn't be able to get a table. They were willing to accommodate us, however, and I...am so glad they did! We ordered an appetizer (affettati misti) and a pasta (spaghetti all'amatriciana) course. The salami was very fresh and plentiful. The real treat, however, was the pasta. With fresh tomatoes, fresh cheese, and fresh pasta, it was the best way to warm up on a cold day. Prices are extremely reasonable. It's a bit of drive outside of Montalcino, but it's near many wineries, so I encourage you to make a reservation here for lunch. The service was very prompt and very kind. (For what it's worth, learn a little Italian before you go. We didn't hear any English in here when we visited.)More

After a long morning of driving around, we arrived here a little after 1pm, and thankfully they honored our reservation even though we came late. This place is really simple and comfortable. Definitely seems like a local favorite. **It's good to note that this place...is located very close to Banfi's winery a bit outside of town. We asked the owner for recommendations, and he gave our party of 4 a great mix of soups and pastas/gnocchi along with a baked pear + cheese starter. The food was fantastic - each dish was flavorful and perfectly seasoned. We all agreed that the spaghetti was the best spaghetti we've ever had. It was so simple, but absolutely delicious. The gnocci with tomato sauce was also really great. Our two soups were both so warm and comforting on a cold & wet day. It was a perfect meal. The service and price was friendly and reasonable, and my family had such a memorable, sweet meal in this beautiful town. Thanks so much and we hope to be back in the not so distant future!More

We had gnocchi al pomodori and filetto di manzo with red wine and it was amazing! It is a simple place with focus on the food. I will absolutely go back when returning to Tuscany!

We loved our meal here! Beautiful little restaurant that is all about simple delicious food. We weren’t sure what to get as we didn’t understand everything on the menu as it is hand written in Italian. We asked the waiter what he recommended and explained...we’re not picky eaters and he suggested a starter and two pasta dishes. All the food was incredible! The starter was what I can only describe as a cheese pudding? It was so so good. Under the pudding were slices of pear and a slight drizzle of olive oil and honey. Might sound weird but it worked so well, I could have had a few more of those easily. Next we had the pesto pasta and pasta with sausage and eggplant- both delicious but the pesto was standout! So fresh and light but flavoursome, definitely the best pesto I’ve had in Italy by far!More
