Stunning 7 course taster menu - I've never had anything bad here. The menu is imaginative and beautifully presented. I'll be back (again).

We last visited Le Chateau de Montreuil about fifteen years ago and, whilst the decor and layout have changed, the excellent quality of the food and the high standard of service have not. Three of us dined and we were all delighted by our menu choices, all executed to perfection. The service was faultless and Jean-Paul, in particular, deserves praise,... More

We have eaten here many times in the last ten years and have never had a less than perfect meal. Truly memorable, not just for the food, but the service, impeccable but friendly, the attention to detail so that each choice from the menu is beautifully served on a plate that is chosen for it, and the quiet and elegant... We had visited this place 12 years ago and found that its standards of excellence had not diminished during the interim. This is not a place to visit if you are on a budget. The service and cuisine is well beyond average. We intend to visit again but will not wait 12 years!

Our visit was n a Monday and, as is common, the restaurant was closed even in high season. We were disappointed as we have eaten there before and it was excellent. We had Kir Royals in the sunny garden instead. Delightful.

We have eaten here before at lunch time and this time, we had dinner as we were staying in the hotel. The food is excellent: precisely cooked with clean flavours allowing the top quality ingredients to shine through yet still creative and unusual. Service is attentive without being overwhelming. My only slight quibble would be that it is a tad... More

Good restaurants are difficult to find in Northern France (we visit several times a year), so we were expecting a treat at Le Chateau and were treating a friend from London. We were served fairly good appetisers whilst we waited for our meal. The starters, when they arrived, were OK and presented well. However, after two hours we were still... More

On a beautiful sunny day after walking around the brocante, just found ourselves wandering around to this wonderful, traditional , classic restaurant. We just sat by the outdoor pool, cold bottle of wine and a simple lunch of foie gras, beautiful.

We profess to being a little disappointed here and debated whether this was 3 or 4. We decided on 3, but think we might have gone higher had we chosen a different menu. We went for the €100 7 course menu du chef. The starter was an outstanding oyster and veal tartare. This was followed by John Dory - mine... More

This is a difficult review to write as the staff were excellent and the chef clearly very good, but ultimately we felt it was over-priced and over-fussy. And our meal was nearly ruined by selfish noisy diners on a nearby table in what is a very intimate space.
